  1. Yep, says he "dodged an acl".
  2. I would be more inclined to believe that other clubs are talking to Clark's manager (as opposed to him talking to them) as that would be fairly standard practice. Now, you say you are in the AFL media as if that gives your rumours some sort of credence. This is an internet forum, we all use assumed names (unless this site just happens to be full of people whose real names happen by pure coincidence to be the same as many of the clubs' players), and we can all lay claim to all sorts of knowledge regardless of whether it is true or invented. You may well work in the AFL media, but as what? I work for a major global software and hardware giant, but that doesn't mean I know what is going on behind closed doors. On the other hand, as cynical as I have been about some of his posts, GNF does have a pretty much impeccable record when it comes to "insider" knowledge and comings and goings at the MFC...and his reports/comments seem to be diametrically opposed to yours. I suppose all will be revealed in good time, but forgive me if I take your comments about Mitch having no interest in the MFC, as having very little substance.
  3. Well, I certainly don't want anyone at our club who can't spell.
  4. D from me.
  5. and mud coloured glasses.
  6. Your opinion which I doubt is shared by too many on here.
  7. Just tweeted: Lions release official delistings - Raines, Polkinghorne, Lisle and Wearden gone. Also rookies Hayes, Michael and Conway
  8. Weren't these the same kinds of comments that were being thrown about last year when discussion turned to one Cam Pedersen?
  9. I believe the comment was "negative nancy"? That is a very old expression that is used to define someone who is excessively negative and complains too much... it has absolutely no relationship to a person's sexuality and definitely has no homophobic overtones. With your complaints re its use, you seem to have only provided some justification for its use.
  10. Yes, but you are not Paul Roos and I think I probably trust his judgement a little more than I would trust yours.
  11. Jones won't be going anywhere. This club will do whjatever is required to retain him... but having said that, he strikes me as possibly the only player at the MFC who is totally dedicated to the cause of raising this club out of the mire. Only one thing to say about your comment... MFCSS (I thought it was all but gone, but it must be building resistance to the Roosisinthehouse vaccine).
  12. Or alternatively, someone needs to learn how to convey humour in a written format.
  13. As the song says, "there's only one Tony Lockett".
  14. That's a bit unfair. How many years did he stick around? What was his impact off the field (see rjay's comment above)? Should we say Tadhg Kennelly was only in it for the money (once he got the glory, he returned to play Gaelic Football in Ireland)? Folau was a failed experiment, yes... but Hunt at least showed he had some of the right skills and gave it a proper dip.lasting 4 years and at one stage was considered one of the GC's better mids. And even if he was in it for the money, so what?? The AFL is a professional sport and club loyalty is a thing of the past. It is now a game for elite sports people and that is exactly what Hunt is.
  15. They should take a leaf out of our book... the players rest, but they still play.
  16. Given the amount of "stick" Saty (the most prolific training reporter) has copped on here since the weekend, I personally wouldn't blame him in the least if he gives this a wide berth (assuming he went).
  17. Was a line from a Pee Wee Herman show (well, maybe not the beers part - it was kids TV after all ).
  18. I think he meant he'll be wandering around drunk with his fly undone (apologies to Pee Wee Herman).
  19. I suppose you would have to think then that the MFC will be doing a bit of talking to Mitch and his manager over the next few weeks to determine whether he might be interested. I don't think there could be any doubt that the MFC are interested considering, if I am remembering the Roos Pie Night thread correctly, Roos had intimated that he believed Clark was the best player at the club prior to injury.
  20. And who would it have been that "duped" them? Why, the EFC of course :-)
  21. Interestingly, Mitch posted an Instagram pic yesterday from St Kilda with the caption: "perfect day for a recovery swim down at st kilda beach #iphone" Make of that what you will (unless of course, he was recycling an old shot). http://instagram.com/mitchclark
  22. I am pleased to hear that there is going to be a sequel to "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel". That is one of the few films I can watch over and over. The only other films that have made such an impression are "Intouchable", "Diva", "Monsoon Wedding", "Spirited Away" and "My Neighbour Totoro". I'm now waiting on my Werner Herzog collection on blu ray to arrive (it finally shipped from Amazon in the UK after multiple delays in its release) and also Miyazaki's latest animation "The Wind Rises". Took my sons to see "Guardians of the Galaxy" yesterday... what a hoot!! Absolutely loved it and is by far and away the best of all of the Marvel releases. Clever wit, great action and you even find yourself caring about the characters which for me was a little surprising.
  23. Because our handballing is better than our kicking perhaps?
  24. I don't care that we will lose, but I am really looking forward to this game if for no other reason than to see how they respond to their attrocious effort last week.
  25. I believe he's trying to keep his tinder dry.
