Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
hardtack replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Taxi possibly? -
Or the one that Dunn, Jetta, Jamar, Watts, Vince and numerous others painted? Not every player is going to be an overnight sensation. By the way, you weren't the guy honking the horn behind me in the drive through at KFC were you? Seemed waiting more than 2 minutes for his feed was all too much for him,

He writes so well...the bit about "Matt" actually brought a hint of a tear to my eye. Did anyone on D'land get along to the game he is writing about?

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 15

I'm another who hopes he plays. He's been working away at Casey with not much recognition, so it's nice to see he is getting (possibly) the opportunity to air his wares in the AFL. It's adds to the pleasure of watching us play when we get to see how well the players are developing. -
I would have thought is Salem is rested, JKH may come back in as the sub?

Interesting to note that the Real Footy game review had Tom in the best players: Vince, McDonald, N Jones, Dawes, Watts, Dunn, Tyson. Read more: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-match-report/norths-five-goals-in-10-minutes-destroys-demons-20140622-zsi6t.html#ixzz35QyiB3U0 I don't necessarily agree he should be in there, but by the same token, I think the OP's (and a couple the other usual suspects) reaction is way over the top. Yes, he drove me crazy with his disposal by foot on the weekend, but apart from that, he played a far more serviceable game than a number of other more highly rated players (Howe, Garland, Frawley etc).

KICKING, HANDBALLING AND CATCHING
hardtack replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
"Catching"? -
I'm going to have to book in for some anger management sessions after this.
-
The handballing today has been nothing short of pathetic!!!
-
Everytime McDonald has the ball, my stomach sinks knowing that the opposition is about to get another possession.
-
Really? Looked like McDoland (but it was a long shot on the TV)... my mistake
-
Lucky... but nice goal from Vince
-
One of the worst advantage calls I've seen for a while
-
McDonald really needs to learn how to deliver a ball by foot... almost gave away a goal.
-
Brilliant mark by Dawes
-
No...that rivalry all but disappeared years ago...the Qld v NSW rivalry leaves it for dead.

I've liked the Doggies since Libba retired... Murphy's one of my favourite players and I have a lot of time for Dahlhaus. Saints I dislike but can't dislike too much because they were my mothers team and North I dislike (but not hate) mainly because their coaches for some weird reason always seem to be whingers. There are only three teams I would put on my absooute hate list... Richmond, Carlton and Essendon.

Word has it that Roos will be taking along a Tip Top sandwich loaf and a Birds Eye fish finger and distributing them among the entire crowd. And if it rains? Well... just make sure you have a wine glass with you.
-
You wouldn't want our players not to go in in defence of one of their own would you? So it should be on the forums as well

Who... Saty?
-
Physician heal thyself ;-)

I can't believe some of the nastiness that starts to rear its ugly head when Saty passes on such information to us. I have met him a couple of times when I've been in Melbourne and managed to get along to training and Saty does have an obvious rapport with the players and they don't just give a passing nod, but do respond well... the fact that he tells it like it is (his relationship with the players) rather than taking a more humble approach should not be a problem.
-
I'd be all for that... otherwise, I wouldn't mind seeing us make a play for Patton whenever he is available (he's contracted until?)... perfect replacement for Mitch in that he has a strong pair of hands, excellent shot on goal and a handy second ruck option.

A good measure might be how you react yourself when you get people rubbishing you over comments you make when posting on these forums. Does it have an adverse affect on you or do you just keep going about your business as usual and maintain your same posting style? Does it affect your daily life, your ability to work etc? Saty cops a hell of a lot of rubbishing on here, but he continues to post without changing. Most players would not be new to the internet and forums (many have probably been involved on footy forums themselves in the past)... they would know the score and they would understand that most of the nasty posting would be from anonymous keyboard heroes who have probably never kicked a ball in anger themselves. If they can survive the "in your face" critics on the other side of the fence when they are playing, then I hardly think a few comments by some here would have any affect.
