And was it McCartin who has a question mark over his set shot accuracy, while Wright has a much better conversion rate? (I'm sure I read something to that effect somewhere).
-
Yeah... I thought it would be more a case of comparing notes than providing advice.
-
Well he is 12, so the next time Porkies hits the Foxtel programming rounds, I'll sit him down and let him know that this is what comprises a pre-game meet D'land style. I assume the game will be followed by a gathering and post mortem at, or near, the Gatwick? (would be nice to revisit my old stomping grounds in the Fitzroy St area).
-
I've booked my accomodation for the Easter weekend so that my youngest son and I can go to the game and hopefully training; but only if they have a session on good friday (fingers crossed). Also, please keep me "in the loop" (god I hate that expression) if there are to be any D'land meetups before the game.

yes, and look at how that list is being eroded away now. He built what others seek to destroy. He had a vision for Australia, and now our leaders have tunnel vision.

I was conscripted in 1972 on my birthday (26th March). Fortunately that was the year that Gough got elected and conscription (national service) was abolished. The only one that was disappointed was my father as he thought I needed discipline :-)

Yes, I was looking at Brown as well, but he has even less runs on the board than Hunt at senior level (although his goal scoring record in the VFL isn't too shabby).
-
...worth consideration? I know very little about him, but if we are after mids, he may be wroth a look as a cheap pickup in the PSD?
-
Well, when any other player at the club can win three Blueys on the trot, maybe they can qualify for the same offer.

I get the feeling we will be seeing a lot more of Barry next year. He was starting to show glimpses at season's end, and with another full pre-season, I can see him adding some bulk and becoming a very useful player.

Or even better... the original

So, you obviously didn't read my post where I apologised and explained why I got it wrong... http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/37527-the-week-that-could-have-been/?p=1015729

I was thinking last night how good it would sound to have the entire MFC crowd singing "La la la Lamumba" everytime he goes near the ball.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
hardtack replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes, why is it that the Beagle Boys, Gyro Gearloose and (if memory serves), Uncle Scrooge never appeared in the Disney cartoons? -
Ok, in that case I apologise unreservedly. Having been out of the country for the past almost 4 weeks and only having occasional scans of the forums, I obviously missed the riddler.
-
You said, and I quote, "I think this place took a turn for the worse when the riddler posted his opportunistic shyte". I was assuming that "this place" was referring to Demonland, the "riddler" was a reference to GNF, and "opportunistic shyte" was a reference to his riddles. You genuinely can't see how your post might be interpreted in that way?

Just spent the past three and a half weeks in the UK, Berlin, Brussels and Paris with my son. The long flights are a great chance to catch up on a few movies. Those that caught my attention were: The Chef, Pictures and Words, The Double (an odd little Brazil like film) and What We Do In The Shadows, which is a very funny and extremely well scripted mocumentary about a house shared by vampires in suburban New Zealand.
-
It was hardly GNFs riddles that made Demonland take a turn for the worse; how can posting rumours be construed as being opportunistic? At least by making them a little more "interesting" or "cryptic" a few got to exercise their grey-matter. I found it quite amusing that some took it all so seriously.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SAM FROST
hardtack replied to Gipsy Danger's topic in Melbourne Demons
Typo or term of endearment? -
Well, if we trade pick 3 for a mid and a pick in the top 10, then Wright might be worth picking up with the acquired pick? I'm still out of the country so I haven't been following closely, so I may well be talking out of my arse (what's new I hear you say).

Why should Dunn apologise for his comments aimed at the more abusive posters? Some people are far too sensitive.

RIP Robbie Flower - Sad Passing of a True Champion
hardtack replied to KLV's topic in Melbourne Demons
Was sitting on a train somewhere between Berlin and Brussels when I got this news. A sad sad day. Vale Robbie. -
Nonsense! Dunny is not bagging out all upset supporters...he is having a go at supporters who have made offensive and most likely unfounded comments directed at Clark. He is entirely within his rights to do so, particularly when he knows what Clark has been through. And to say that he should inform us of what Clark has been through is even more nonsensical...we have all known about his mental illness, and it is only now that he has decided to move elsewhere that the sour grapes are starting to ferment and he is being accused of never having depression, of being of low moral character etc etc. The wages comment also makes no sense. The amount of abuse they have to cop from us is far worse than what a few unnamed supporters would suffer. What would you do if your employer abused you in the way that Dunn, Clark and any number of players on our list have been abused? Personally, I'm more than happy to see him having a go at those keyboard warriors.
