  1. Thank you for your expert analysis.
  2. That would be reasonable if that was indeed the case, but looking at this (http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-04-09/clark-sledged-by-hawks), it looks like the sledging may have been related to his depression.
  3. I have no idea what the sledges were about... I was having a go at HH as he seemed to think that sledging Clark over his depression was perfectly acceptable and that if he can't take it, he should hang up the boots.
  4. Yet you think it's ok to sledge someone over depression... an illness that can and does take lives? Oh that's right, it was Clark being sledged and that makes it perfectly acceptable in your books, doesn't it.
  5. So you'd have no problem with players from opposing clubs sledging the Riewoldts' over the death of their sister/cousin? All class.
  6. Of course these things happen at many clubs - they cannot watch their players 24x7 and there is always a chance any one player could go off the rails. I read nothing by the way., but I would be interested to know where you get your "good oil" from (and what makes your word any better than that of the media?)? The fact that the club saw fit to stand down one of their more important players on the eve of an important game when they could easily be sitting at 0-2 speaks volumes for the CLUB culture.
  7. To the contrary, I think we are seeing just how strong their culture is... you screw up and you get dropped, regardless of how important the upcoming game is.
  8. So in the meantime you don't believe we need depth? And by all reports, Fitz has been doing ok in the backline at Casey and training well with the Dees... I was at the Casey v Collingwood game last Saturday and although he didn't set the world on fire, Fitz certainly did not put in a bad performance on the back line on that occasion.
  9. Well, you've got me there... although you might be surprised... at the Canberra game I attended, it did get noisy.
  10. There is a thing called "depth"... a couple of injuries and he may well be required. Then again, I suppose there are those of us who need a "whipping boy" even when the future is looking brighter than it has been for a while.
  11. Yes, but you expect strange there.
  12. I can't see any of them smiling... obviously trouble in paradise.
  13. It's the main character from David Lynch's film Eraserhead... possibly one of the strangest and most disturbing movie ever made.
  14. Sorry, the tape on my old fangled VCR was destroyed after my drink slid off its coaster spilling into the tape feed mechanism causing me to lose the entire game. Note to self... never again use DVDs as drink coasters.
  15. One of the stranger comments I have seen on these forums.
  16. I certainly hope they don't give him a spell this week... apart from what he brings to the game in terms of skill and hardness, it would be great for him to get to play in front of his "home" crowd.
  17. No OD... felt I needed a change so I went from Pinhead to Eraserhead - both are film references.
  18. Why don't we all start Round 2 game day threads? At the end of the day we can total up the number of replies in each and declare the winner the most popular poster on Demonland (for the week).
  19. Also, I think it's probably not a bad idea to keep someone like Brayshaw "hungry" for games; I can't help but think of past new recruits who have played great first games and then, for whatever reasons, faded out.
  20. Despite being a big fan, I would probably have Lamumba in there ahead of Dunn... and I would not be in the least bit surprised if Nathan Jones makes AA this year (providing he has a another season like last year).
  21. That's no mean feat considering the quality of the Freo v Port game and the frighteningly good performances of the Hawks and the Crows.
  22. I love these threads... what are the odds he'll be a demon by the end of page 4? (and by the the end of the year he will be despised/demonised for changing his mind and not leaving Carlton for us)
  23. I love it! Sure you wouldn't belt this version at out the end of the game after a win, but I think it's a superb interpretation of the song.
  24. Rob... I'm down in Melbourne on Friday 8th May and heading along to see The Sports reunion performance on the Saturday night in St Kilda (which unfortunately clashes with the game against the Swans). Will head back on the Sunday, but am free to catch up on either Friday night or Saturday during the day. I'm staying in Sth Yarra. Glad you liked the song by the way.
