Agree with the majority - it's now or never. It's so frustrating cause he is a beautiful kick of the footy.

If this year is anything to go by then the NAB should be dropped next year. The standard has at times been farcical. Dogs v Pies was a joke. The anticipation for the season to start is in no way enhanced by this circus act of constant kick ins and supergoals performed by B teams.

That's all very well but does it mean disregarding the current crop? Like it or not, the MFC is building up a reputation of shafting its senior players, including the most dedicated (J Mac, Beamer). I understand the need to look ahead but I still think it's a very rough end of the stick, particularly for those who actually performed well last season.

I admit I'm pretty concerned about the impact that chopping the former captain, vice captain, and two other senior players form the Leadership group in one foul swoop is going to have on the unity of the playing group. Particularly when one of their replacements has never played a game for the club...and another one is Bartram. I applaud boldness. I don't applaud what appears to be lunacy. However If it comes off, I'll happily eat humble pie.

Bartram and Clark ahead of Moloney is a little bit of a joke to be honest. Comfortable with the captaincy selections however.

To be honest this is pretty embarassing for all concerned. Says a fair bit about how serious they take this thing. Just scrap it fer god's sake.

Must keep for 2012. Quite possibly beyond. A senior player who gives his all...an area in which we are not exactly fully stocked. The amount he gets potted does not equate to the calibre of his performances overall.

I think we need to keep things in perspective re the impact that Clark is going to have on the team. Not so much in terms of structure but the flow on effects it wil have on the performance of other players. LJ's work ethic must improve in 2012 of his own merits. At the end of the day his consistency of performance in 2011 was sub-par. More games under the belt next season with the plan to have him really hitting his strides in 2013. He has the talent, and the engine, to be an A grader.

Bater is one of those players that seems to have a few fans outside of the club. Wouldn't surprise me if Neeld has plans to utilise him in potentially a different role.

And he's not the only one. Make no mistake, this signing changes things for next season. Good times.

He's still a senior player, with natural talent, with a few more good years in him. We are in extremely short supply of senior players, period. Have we learned nothing from the J Mac fiasco? He had a bad year. It happens. To give him the boot would be an enormous bullet to the foot IMO, and that foot already has quite a few mangled toes hanging off it.

How is his form 12 months ago irrelevant to the discussion of contract negotiations?

His slide in form and the timing of the captaincy role are too coincidental when you consider his outstanding 2010 season. He needs a clean slate next year and hand over the reigns to someone else. Preferably of his own accord but I can't see that happening.

I swear Eddie's head gets more purple everytime I see it. The bloke is slowly tranforming into Barney. The Dawks could've at least ran out the game and done us all the favour of not having to stomach the thought of the filth going back to back. The less said about Bateman's last term the better.
