  1. But seriously, does he take us for complete muppets? One tour of the facilities and he's signed up and making youtube videos in his Giants gear. What a clown. A bit of honesty wouldn't go astray.
  2. What a grub. I'm gonna boo him til my throat is hoarse.
  3. I love football of the round ball variety..but you've picked a particularly odd place to come out with such a comment.
  4. So this is Artie the smartie yes? The unwarranted and undeserved smugness is very Artie-like. The minus 2 was tongue in cheek, genius. Honestly I'd give the season a 3 or 4 but it's merely a number.
  5. Season rating: -2/10 Let's not candy coat it. It's been an absolutely nightmarish year considering where we thought we would be by now. Crucial we get the best coach we can in 2012, though I have to say it's not a great look to be approaching all current AFL coaches in order of best to worst until someone says yes. Whole thing has an air of desperation about it. Being a fan of this club sucks, but I have faith that there are better days ahead with some of our youngsters. Is this group good enough to win a flag? Probably not, but there is a foundation to build upon. Recruiting remains crucial over the next couple of years.
  6. Upside is that it can only get better next year. ...right?
  7. Yeah nah. Chip is a terrific burly defender who does his job well in containing key forwards and is a fairly reliable kick. Col has that x factor that can influence the course of a game, he just doesn't show it often enough. Versatility, vision, pace, strength, a strong mark overhead and a beautiful kick in the field of play and at goal. On raw ability it's a no brainer for mine.
  8. Little bit of useless trivia: the scoreline in this game was exactly the same as ours against Adelaide in Round 7. 22.17.149 8.5.53
  9. Just took a blatant dive to win a free and lock up the game for the Hawks against GC. Dog act.
  10. Not sure if I'd rate Maxwell a "handy in". Maybe just an in.
  11. If they go out in straight sets, this entire season will have been worth the wait. It was always coming. They are a perfectly drilled team, Collingwood, but individually how good are they really? With three fairly significant outs the rout was always on the cards. Geelong are the only team to get on top of them mentally by matching their effort and finding a way to beat the press early.
  12. Yeah nah he deserves it so...yeah.
  13. Over the course of the season, Trenners would be the better choice I feel. Hopefully he has a blinder this week.
  14. 6. Blease 5. Jones 4. Garland 3. Moloney 2. Jamar 1. Green
  15. Because the margin should've been about three times what it was. Still wasn't what Viney was seeking, a four quarter effort, which is precisely what it should've been. No excuses. Suns won at least two quarters in contested possessions and dominated the clearances for large patches of the game. Several goals came from the Suns coughing it up in their back half through fundamental skill errors. Would've been alot closer without them. Some of Scully's tackling and chasing verged on laughable. Clearly going north and shouldn't have been played. Upside - Blease did it with ease. Jones, Moloney and Trengove lead well, Col Garland responded very well after a slow start, and Green played the best game he has in god knows when. Now time to put Port and this season to bed.
  16. We are 3 years away from being a merely competitive side. Rebuild has not worked and needs to start over. FFS...we are getting shown up by a bunch of children. One positive: Jonesy..hold your head high son. Actually doing us proud.
  17. Pass on Fumbleton thanks.
  18. He won't retire. He'll be back playing good footy next year. Hopefully for the MFC.
  19. Has been one of the few to stand up in several games of late. One mediocre performance shouldn't warrant a hanging.
  20. I'm starting to think Col Sylvia... Maybe I'm still giddy from that hanger in the goal square. Trengove is the standout at the moment but obviously a couple of years away so it's really an interim captain's role. Not easy.

I've seen him play better, but definitely up there with his best. Could become something special over the next few years.
  22. No to mention the first verse of "Mr Wendal" being eerily appropriate: Here, have a dollar, in fact nah brotherman here, have two Two dollars means a snack for me, but it means a big deal to you Be strong, serve God only, know that if you do, beautiful heaven awaits That's the poem I wrote for the first time I saw a man with no clothes, no money, no plate
  23. He doesn't lead by example. His second and third efforts are poor compared with the majority of the younger players. He doesn't seem to want to take the initiative in placing himself around the ball when the chips are down, which results in him gathering dust in the forward line quietly observing from afar as we get killed in the centre. He's also not known for kicking a "captain's goal". i.e. a goal when the team desperately needed it. Can't recall the last time it happened. Then there's his off field persona. Giggling his way through interviews. Smiling like a cheshire cat after his team has been systematically mauled. Those are a few reasons, since you asked.
