Out of interest, was it you who made the comment at 3:37 - "he obviously didn't watch them play this year"?
-
Incredible game from start to finish. One of the greats. Even though it's finals, we're light years away from that kind of intensity.
-
Sometimes you really wish they'd maybe clear the tables LATER. Really takes away from the moment. Good speech nonetheless.
-
Walker was a clear winner. Just about hit his head on the roof. NicNat second, just ahead of Petterd and Krakouer equal third.

Most important player on our list? I won't criticise. I'll just say it's pretty left field stuff. I will say that surely between Wonna and Maric we have the quality small crumbing forward we've been looking for. Maric I think gets unfairly branded as a VFL star. He has it in him to take the next step.

On face value it may look like a second option, but after looking at his resume that includes apprenticeships under the likes of Blight and Malthouse, listening to numerous interviews he has done, and just his general demeanour and attitude to football and the club's future, I'd be greatly surprised if you weren't at least a little swayed towards this guy being the right man for the job. Possibly even the next best choice after Malthouse and Clarkson. Time will tell, but I think it's unfair and overly pessimistic to just dismiss it as a last resort.
-
I doubt he'd take it and nor should he. The guy is a class act all the way though. Needs to remain involved in the game.

A tall target upforward and a couple more tough on-ballers would have to be very near the top of the list.

I really couldn't be more chuffed with the new appointment. I'm already looking forward to a man like Neeld bringing out the true potential in our young list, which I firmly belive we haven't even begun to truly see. I'm excited about what he can do with the likes of Strauss, Blease, Gysberts, Tapscott, Petterd, Nicholson, and yes, even Morton. As his familiarity grows, so will his desire to get the best out of our young talent. I have no doubts that he will get the shopping list right, and we can plug those holes he has already alluded towards. As long as the common theme is players with a bit of grunt. After the year we've had, it's a pleasant surprise to truly be looking forward to next season.

..and not a bad sort.

This.

They seem to genuinely hate one another. It's quite amusing.
-
Nice one. Neeld's shot is very school photo and sticks out like a sore thumb. Like it in principle so once there's a better image I'd slot it in.
-
Noticed he does the classic Bails arched eyebrow when listening to a question..gawn but not forgotten.
-
This. Trenners is a future captain but the cold hard fact is that he's too young. Is Col not part of this discussion? He's our best player, just re-signed, and Neeld might be the guy to put him on the right path.

I've got a good feeling about this.
-
Never seen him put a positive spin on a win. Rarely if ever seen him talk up any of our players the same way he does other clubs. Can't remember the last time he even tipped us in a game. Whenever he speaks about us the general sentiment is that we are rubbish. As I said I was curious if there was history. Nothing more.

lol @ the arms on Moloney. I like it for the record, in particular having a team shot as a background image. Jonesy probably gets the most animated after kicking a goal so I like the use of that one too.
-
Wow, okay thanks for the clarity lads. I guess the apparent bitterness comes from a desire to see the club perform. An all too familiar feeling.
-
Yeah, Teams.

Seriously, I can't remember the last time this bloke said anything positive about the club. He seems to just...hate us. Tonight on AFL 360 it was questioned as to why Lyon would turn down a coaching role at Melbourne to go to the other side of the country. It was as though someone had shoved a lemon in his mouth. He basically considered Fremantle's list to be light years ahead of ours and it was incomprehensible that someone would choose to coach at Melbourne over Fremantle. Another example: several weeks ago Parkin visited Arden Street to lend his advice to the Kangaroos for a few days. Attended trainings, coaching meetings etc. The question was raised as to which clubs he had provided some form of coaching assistance voer the years. Melbourne was the only Victorian club he hadn't helped out at some stage. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it but I was wondering if anyone knew of us whizzing in this guy's cereal at some stage. Really irks me, cause I otherwise respect his opinion and god knows we could use a brain like his at the moment.
-
Can't really blame the guy though, Robbie.
-
Oh boy. Looking forward to copping some more flack from my mates over this one. I'm numb to the pain now though so it's all good. I sincerely wish Junior all the best and hope he does well on the field next season.
-
Exactly. He and Moloney should be the first picked. Give their all every game and bleed for the club. Other 5: Trengove, Sylvia, Watts, Jurrah, Frawley I can understand people questioning Sylvia and Jurrah based on work rate but let's face it, they are probably our two most high profile players (along with Watts) and remain as potential superstars of the comp.

At this point I don't actually care about when and where they demonstrate anger over this farcical turn of events...just a bit of fire in the belly would be nice..
