  1. V Lions Rodan 11 possessions Byrnes 21 possessions Moloney 36 wow.... the Free agency piece is really working out for us!
  2. If you put a leg of lamb in the oven and a year and a half later the oven hasn't come up to temp and half of the leg of lamb has left the oven to be replaced by mutton mince you might have to look for problems with the oven rather than blaming the lamb.
  3. Moloney didnt fit the coaches plan and was moved on.... and that's what happens...it's life. (let's not debate whether we have a workable plan here....it's been done to death). I was sad to lose him, thought he had more to offer but I think it was one of those rare situations where both the club and player got what they want. Now we have some sellers regret... and cry sad.....FMD. IMO no statement was needed beyond simply recognising that Moloney played well.
  4. Your first position.....that you'd prefer him to go if he thinks his effort is acceptable is over the top. That he has let himself down this year at times.....sure every player out there has. Frawley is a must retain payer for this club. bringing down the flood of inside 50's with no pressure will make a huge difference to him
  5. Harsh in the extreme. Playing in the back line in a side being routinely flogged through the midfield
  6. game plan from the coaching staff and commitment to execute it have both been very ordinary so far this year. arguing over which is the bigger issue doesnt help. I just hope that this weeks win can spark us up for better performances through the remainder of the season. I can live with losing as we rebuild (again) but weeks of completely uncompetitive dross [censored] me to tears and do not add anything to the development of the club
  7. If there is something to the logic that there should be no cheering/ clapping at half time because it will make the players soft and lose focus, then I suggest dont just hold it til the end of the match.... We must stop all clapping til we win a flag .....this rewarding of players for just winning a game is ruining us. What a load of old cobblers
  8. He identified his target with the term "cheap seats" in an " on the record" environment. It wasnt some allegorical 1850's poetry reading where everyone will gather around to discuss who he really means. It was ill-considered and it comes across as blaming your customer because they don't like the product you are producing. This board and admin are under plenty of pressure, Scullygate, Tanking now Danking and no ability to point to success on field. They should be recognised for a great job on getting the club over its crushing financial position
  9. hoping for a belting win.....mentally prepared for a clanger filled shambles and a narrow victory Agree with you Stuie.... no upside for the club today...
  10. www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5v2JA4Vj_s
  11. and fwiw I think that ability to project a positive, confident position that everything is ok is a real positive for Col.
  12. do you think there is any circumstance where he'd have said "I'm really worried cos I reckon a few blokes are right in the shitter" wouldnt put too much store on Col's ability to determine whether we have anything to worry about from the AFL and even less store on the likelihood he'd blab even if he thought it likely they were going to crucify us
  13. Some people need the plane to actually hit the ground to realise that everything is NOT ok.......believe in the Neeld all you want...it wont make it true oh and remember that the phoenix only rises from the ashes...maybe the phoenix is not the right phrase or did you mean that the current admin is close completing step one by burning he club to the ground?
  14. not sure it could work for me but its not something MFC supporters are likely to have offered anytime soon....this sort of differentiated position is the realm of the successful
  15. He's on $6m over 3 yrs........ would make Folau look like a natural footballer
  16. .....its pretty simple.....so read this slowly (it's ok if you move your lips a bit if that helps)..... This post wasn't about CS having his "breakout season" we've all waited long enough for that..... this is about an expectation that he would re-sign early so that he could provide leadership. He isnt on the 9 man leadership panel after 10 years (and almost one in five of our list is on it) SO he either can't or won't lead OR He's been shafted. Either way he's not going to sign early to provide leadership Its the vibe of the thing Get it?
  17. true....but expecting CS to re-sign now to provide "leadership" is unrealistic
  18. This week? Next week? Next month? Next year? I'm more concerned about how we (MFC) extract ourselves from the very deep hole we have created. I guess the first step is to stop digging, but what next? It would be fantastic for the club (not so good for Neeld) if sacking the coach guaranteed a turn around but I can't see that happening without a bigger plan around the future
  19. And with respect to Byrnes and Dawes....both appointed to the leadership group before they had a possession for the dees (still the case for Dawes). top flight motivational approach that. I haven't seen anything from Byrnes that supports his ascension....did I miss it? No I'm not suggesting Col should be on the LG without earning it......maybe we could have just made do with a 7 man leadership group for a while
  20. Should see if Webjet can offer a cut price fair Sydney Melbourne return....might be the only way to break 15K
  21. Except that now we don't get the ball
  22. no it says more about unrealistic expectations. Either: He's not in the leadership group because he doesnt exhibit leadership.......in which case why expect him to hang around the club and re-sign to provide leadership or He's been hard done by .....in which case why expect him to hang around the club and re-sign to provide leadership
  23. I think we've got a fearful presence..... our coaching staff is fearful of the post match presser as the supply of credible(?) excuses runs down
  24. Well Sylvia is not in the 9 man leadership group. Maybe Byrnes or Dawes should be leading more given they went straight onto the LG
