  1. For mine he is developing well, playing in a team that is 0-9 and mostly getting flogged as it learns a different way to play. When Watts is our biggest issue at MFC we will be in great shape.
  2. Everyone...... and that means you don't even speak with Martin? See I find that baffling and really undisciplined.
  3. When you say runing did you miss an "n"..... or an "i"?
  4. Didn't profile the coach... but "...we had identified very quickly the type of person we wanted." Didn't interview D Martin Where is the Due Diligence. and that is not to say Neeld is the wrong guy, but perhaps he could have been better supported if the club understood his weaknesses. Maybe the result would have been a culture change that crashed through instead of just crashed
  5. ...and now it seems 101 (and 0-8) is revealing the issues that were papered over after 186 with a quick coach sacking. Dysfunction and/ or denial across almost all aspects of the club.
  6. Agreed Jose..... someone who excels as an assistant isn't necessarily a gun when in charge...... .......if we apply that logic with an open mind....... ......oh no.......blind faith meets a possible alternative explanation
  7. McLardy pulled up short of offering unequivocal board support for Mark Neeld..... so following normal AFL procedure he should be safe in the role for a while yet.
  8. read my Post Ron..... I'm not bagging Neeld per se....but the club can't leave the disconnect between strategy and execution to go on....and I dont' think its as simple as just saying one party needs to change....
  9. So they are good enough to be in the top echelon of footballers over the the years before they get to MFC but then they become incapable.... some times it takes us a couple of years to reveal that they were actually no good!....do you see a link?
  10. So it's the players fault then....they got worse over the break ....but everything else is fine...the more I hear about how bad things were and what a terrible inheritance there was, the more it sounds like ass covering and excuses. I don't want to see the club move to a "things were much worse than we thought but every call we've made on coach and strategy is good" position....they need a come to Jesus meeting.... pull the FD and players in and have a look at whether the path is right with the players available... one of the problems with that is that last time the club asked players for honest feedback on the FD they burnt those who came forward. And I don't need to read from Kenelly, Roos, Carey, etc etc that things aren't working at MFC.... really
  11. I think you miss my point.....I'm not kidding myself, and not suggesting for a minute we were a finals team .....we were poor last year. (But we did win against the Bears btw) This year we are worse. And whilst Port, RFC and North beat us, we had a draw vs Sydney, and wins against BNE, ADL, ESS, FRE and we split matches with RFC and Port (1w 1L each) and won both against GCS. and played some footy that was OK to watch (but without the defensive accountability to be a finals threat). This year our attacking flair is gone, we are still rubbish in defense, may well not win a game for the year and are the worst side in the comp to watch. I think 101 vs Swans is a lower point than 186
  12. "....they don't know what their left hand and right hand are doing." "I know the personnel is definitely not there for the brand of football that they want to play," "....no leadership on the ground" Leads to some questions directed more generally at the whole organisation How can we be a full preseason plus 8 games in and still not have any sign of the plan gelling.....I'm not sure the left hand knows that the right even exists If we don't have the personnel to play the brand of footy we are trying to play then we have the wrong brand of footy... the suit has to be cut from the cloth available. maybe an evolution path, building on the capability and addressing the weaknesses wa more appropriate than the path of revolution we've chosen If there is no leadership on the ground, .... Is there the necessary leadership off the ground?
  13. Spot on Mono..... Why and How are important here. Clubs which were ostensibly in similar positions to us last year... (although generally without the plethora of high draft choices to develop) ...have gone forward (HOW)....and we have imploded (WHY) ... and it's not just get rid of players X,Y,Z (or in our case A,B,C, D,........X,Y,Z)
  14. These guys can all play... everyone on an AFL list has ability... that's how they get drafted. When a club can't extract that ability from across the entire list there is a bigger problem. Blame the players?...sure they are part of it ........but they did not all become duds over the off season
  15. perhaps Neeld and Craig need to go back to Casey and work on a plan and getting back some form and confidence
  16. As things stand now we have had burst of statements about everyone's weaknesses, A declaration of tough love "tell it as it is " and an unpicking of whatever progress had been made over the last 5 years (we did win 8.5 last year) My version of "tell it how it is".... we are 0-8, more importantly we are playing the worst football in the league and we are on our way to a win-less season. If there is a plan I don't see it and the players don't believe it...and that is not a criticism of the players but the Club... where is the belief in the change and and strong sense of team. "Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success." Henry Ford where do you think we are?
  17. Jose, I had no anticipation of an instant turn around. Pregame I posted that I hoped for some improved football but expected a solid loss. I thought I was setting my expectations at about the right level... What I did not expect and cannot accept is to be flogged by 100 points by the Swans (without Goodes) to take us to 0-8. And for the game to be over at qtr time with us 40 points down. I think it goes far beyond a few bad eggs on the playing list
  18. I expect we are talking about something similar to one of these First moment of area, a property of an object related to its resistance to sheer stress and depression Second moment of area, a property of an object related to its resistance to bending and defection to another weekend activity
  19. ahh I see what you did there.... It's like an FM radio crank call right? Will you post the punch line soon?
  20. When do those several weeks start JR... its round nine. I can definitely agree that they need to stop playing like tackers and the required improvement in smarts include the FD
  21. Really.....yesterday was an over correction? well I'm glad we've cleared that up
  22. Really..... I think that makes me feel worse (and there was not a whole lot lower I could go) The fact is if we played that game against Sydney 10 times we'd be down 1000points on aggregate
