Yeah Mark Stevens basically said the same thing as what Caro has written and there will be more in the H/Sun tomorrow. Face it we are going to cop some sort of punishment. But I still stress we cant be punished for the richmond game. If its deemed to be true then Dean Bailey should be banned form footy, Chris Connely should be sacked as well as Josh Mahoney and Schwab has to go as well. But it seems the players wernt trying to lose. Unfortuantely the one person who could shed some more light on this is no longer with us. Anyway poor Neeld who was no where near the club will have to cop some form of punishment if the afl take draft picks away or worse. He shouldnt be punished.

Wow that Woods/Grimes/Johnstone 3 way trade really worked out for us. At least that was 1 trade where we came out looking good. I dont think the other are worth looking at. Only Neeldy knows that.

Im a bit shattered to see BAte go. I always enjoyed him leading to get the ball then swing around on the left and just boot it in. Pettard is a no brainer. He could hardly get into our crap team last year. But with Dawes and Pederson coming into the team there are no spots in the team. bennell I thought was good in patches but its unfortunate he did his knee towrds the end of the season.I assume Ridan could cover his spot. Couch is a youngster we need to persist with. Those facebook comments about Jurrah are hilarious. Didnt these peanuts get the story that Jurrah quit and has moved to adelaide. I reckon neeld would be feeling a bit better about this team. This is now his team and he has picked the players he wants and ditched the players we dont want. Last year he inherited a list Bailey left him and couldnt do to much.

I saw a great quote on twitter. If you play for melbourne in 2013 it is because Mark neeld wants you there. The players will respond and hopefully there will be no more player/Coach disagreements. I think there will be a bit more of a positive vibe around the club.

Look I have no issue with Cale but he was just frustrating. I cant believe he was number 4 pick. At least he is back at home now. Maybe wc will provide somehting different. He obviously couldnt follow team instructions or get the game plan. Also I think Neeld wants bigger bodies in the contest and Cale just could never put the weight on. I wish him all the best but I really wont miss him.

Ive been really happy with our trades but im not sure about this one. But then again apart from Jordans first ever game I cant remember much else he has done. Im backing Neeld in and it would be nice if he could explain some of these trade moves. But I welcome Cam to the club and hope he does well.

A caller rang in this morning who said he wasnt a melbourne supporter but read out the top 20 picks of the last 10 years and said Chris Dawes would be better than any of them. greg raised his voice and said whats your point. The guy said well Id have dawes over them any day. He bags us because we have been down and says we should also be like richmond and get kids. Well Greg when did richmond last play finals? We have even played finals since they have. As Tony said today they are young kids and with them losing Jurrah, Green, Rivers and Moloney so they need some older heads in there. He was disagrreing with greg them mentioned after he'd gone that there is obviously somethng underling with his issue with melbourne. Also about the bulldogs they have a whole lot of older players so who will lead them when they are gone.If we follow the dogs path we will never get there. Greg also questions why players want to leave melbourne and now they have you tool we need replacements. How id love mark neeld to ring up and explain his drafting process on air to him. Greg would shake in his boots.

So does this mean the darwin games are now off? It isnt a bad thing. Id rather play port on the G. I cant wait. I rate brisbane a bit higher than Port so im happy to play port even thought I thought round 1 would be a win this year. I do expect to win. Can you imagine the crap and the media if we do lose. Im disappointed he has left. But when you get an opportunity to go to geelong I can see why he has left. he was a courageous player and I enjoyed watching him play foward this year. Hopefully Frwaley can have a good pre season and get back to his great form he had in previous years. I feel more confident with our backline with Tom McDonald down there. He had a ripper year and with GArland doing ok and throw atts down there I think we will be ok. Will be weird to see him in a cats jumper.

You know what is great about Mark Neeld. He just sees a player who he wants and he doesnt sit back he just goes and gets them, Last year he wanted Clark and flew over to speak to him while staying in a dingy hotel then this year he targets chris dawes and gets him. Same with Byrnes. He knows we need experience and isnt afraid to get it. He has got more experinced players in his time with us than Dean did in his whole time. Also he is right today when he said when Grimes, Jones or Trengove get the footy when they look up in the foward line they will see 2 talls. Rather than some shorter players like the 2nd half of the season when it was Rivers and Garland. Just cant wait until round 1. Good job neeldy.

Wow I cant believe the negativity on here about Dawes. Was anyone else at the same games I was at during the season when Clark was playing and he would have 3 opponents going with him because we just kept bombing it into him. The when he went down we had to play Rivers and GArland in the foward line. Dawes would be a great replacemnt. he is experienced, young, can play and has strength. he and Clark would be great in the foward line together. How hard is it to get tall fowards that are ready to go. Yeah Dawes had a crap year but so did most of the pies players. But the year the pies won the flag he had a great year. Seriously he will be fantastic and would free Mitch up more. Also its great to see melbourne out there and having the guts to get these players. During the bailey era we didnt draft so well lets face it. How many of you bagged the club when we got Clark and he proved people wrong. Couldnt are less if we have to give up pick 20. We could pick up a dud who will hardly play any games or we could pick up a handy player. But DAwes is ready made. Remember this is the same club that oicked morton at 4 and luke molan at 9. Congrats to Mark Neeld for getting off his backside and targeting these players and getting them to our club. For putting a plan into place. For the negative people they can join the likes of Greg Denham in a room together. I am appluading the club especilly neeld and backing them in on there agressive recruitng and cannot wait for 2013.

Im surprised he is at brisbane. But I guess there were as many offers for him as reported. He wanted to play finals and im not sure brisbane will be successful in the next 2 years. Maybe he wanted to get out of melbourne (the city) and be an unknown in brisbane. The thng is he thought Neeld was tough. Voss wont be any easier on him and would expect a high level. Also Brent will go from playing under 2 very young captains to Jonathan Brown. Hope he's ready.

Have a look at that. Jack and Jones in the middle next year will be great. I think Jones would be rapt to have another big body in there helping him. The thing is I couldnt give 2 hoots scully left now. Look what we have got. I reckon Viney could sit him on his backside next year. Dont even care Moloney has quit. There is a much younger ready made replacement for him who can get the ball and isnt afraid of hard work. I reckon neeldy would love coaching him.

He has said before he wants to play for the red and the blue, how many more times does he need to say it. So now he has gone down the opposite path. Good on him. Joe Daniher was on SEN this morning and said Jack helped him so much with his development and if melbourne do get him then they will get a beauty. Which we already know but who knows what he could teach a player or two. Im sure Jones would love him there beside him in the midfeld.

This is why we need him. If others are saying he isnt a top 3 then why are gold coast looking at him. YOu know why because he is ready to go. I love his passion and you know he would be devastated if we dont get him. I like it how he has come out and said this. The ovbious thing is do we want a kid that we know will be at our club for 10 years who is ready to go round 1 and is tough and doesnt hold back or do we get a kid who has potential but may never live up to it. Lets remember we chose morton at 4.

Interesting to read Carey has some ambition to do some specialist coaching role about 20 hrs a week with a Melbourne club. I know he has been linked to Carlton but what do we think of him helping out at Melbourne. Years ago I would have said no way, but he seems to be in a better head space now and stayed out of trouble. I reckon he would be great for Howe and Watts development and even help out Mitch Clark and give him more tips he can do in the foward line. i reckon Howe and Watts especially could really feed off him.

Well lets hope Gerard Healy isnt voting or Nik Nat will win it. Then Healy will come out with all these stats and facts on why he won it. Like he did tonight on his show.
