Apparently his dad played a lot of footy with Neil Craig. Coincidence? Looking forward to seeing him play. We really need some good ball users off half-back.

Rich, Rockliff, Redden, Leuenberger, Zorko, Mayes, Docherty, Longer, Karnezis, Golby.......

If we gain a priority pick what do we do!!!

Trade both for Dangerfield and Sloane haha -
2013 UNDER 18 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Brayshaw Self replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Completely agree. I was just comparing the talls if we did draft Boyd (assuming he's best available) and Hawthorn is really only the comparable team in that regard. We would definitely need a 10x better midfield to make it work though, as you've highlighted. -

2014 off-season will be huge (list management)

So it's confirmed - Clark will definitely make a full recovery -
I think his role will be more like Sidebottom or Zorko than Pendlebury or Rich, for example. He will probably move in to the midfield as he gets older but he is a high HFF at the moment.

Young midfielders/small forwards not getting game time
Brayshaw Self replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Chris Cain - Port Melbourne. He's been very unlucky not to be drafted yet. He was neck and neck with Dwyer in Collingwood's calculations leading up to the Rookie Draft. Most likely leading the Liston so far this season. -
My only criticism of Dawes is that he didn't attack the ball in the air and try to take it out in front. Went for a chest mark when he shouldn't have a couple of times and waited for the ball to get to him and got spoiled once. Other than that, he was great. Very smart with his leading.

FWIW: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-03-15/inside-the-world-of-afl-sport-science 'At both clubs (Pies and Dees), if any player wanted to move outside what the club recommended, they had to have it authorised by the sports science director and the doctor.' Matt Jones - Evaluate his first 7 games
Brayshaw Self replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I genuinely believe he will finish top 3 in the BNF. Reminds me so much of Ryan Griffen and will be able to do more when he puts on some size. Such a shame he is already 25 years old. -
Fair enough. I do rate him as a KPD but I think Dixon would be his preferred matchup and I'm not sure he would be a useful inclusion. Hopefully McDonald can find some form

If that's bagging Sellar, I'll go he. I'm thinking purely about matchups. Without a proper match-up, Sellar offers very little down back. Is he a third tall that can rebound? No, he's not. Can he take talls and smalls like Frawley and Garland? No, he can't. Is this bagging him? No, it's not.

With Dixon out, I hope we don't play James Sellar.

2013 Dream Team : Legends + All Stars Leagues
Brayshaw Self replied to DeeVoted's topic in Melbourne Demons
Demonland All-Star League Average: 1823 Ranking: 6414 of 21,385 'Blease's Wheezes' (Me) sits atop the league ladder, followed by the also undefeated 'Z's r coming'. The next 6 teams rounding out the top 8 are separated only by percentage, all with 12 points. The 3 bottom teams are yet to manage a win, with the league anchor being the luckless Odin's Dragons. Best name award goes to Piers with 'Nixon'sChicksU16s'. -
Jed Lamb. Debuting this weekend.

Not sure I would want to drop Pederson in the absence of Clark, Dawes and to a lesser extent, Watts.
-
Probably just something similar to Mitch Duncan's injury this week. A knock on the knee with some pain and bruising
-
You fail to grasp the crux of my argument. I'm not talking about PERFORMANCE. I'm talking about EFFORT. Dean Terlich doesn't currently have the talent of Frawley, yet he busts his guts and while he might not even be performing as well as Frawley, 100% effort is all you can ask for.
-
Just because the ball is coming in to our defence a lot doesn't mean he gets a chop out. If you think he hasn't let himself down this year at times, you're delusional. Don't accept mediocrity. No wonder our players don't develop after their first couple of years.
-
I'm talking solely about effort. He has played well at times this year but his effort hasn't been 100%
-
If James Frawley thinks that his effort this year has been anything other than unacceptable, I don't actually want him to stay. He needs to pull his finger out now. He is setting a horrible example for the younger guys.
-
Love the way he doesn't get discouraged when he makes a mistake. Just puts his head down and works his ass off to make up for it. We need more attitudes like his.
