Regarding Chandler and some perspective. Essendon’s Gary O’Donnell played nearly 50 games over three years in the reserves when Essendon was a power. He went on to captain the senior team for a couple of years. The Dees will hold on to Chandler .. but he might seek another opportunity.

AFL law is less than transparent.

The AFL loves the trading period in October, it takes the Spring horse racing carnival off the back pages. AFL management will be watching closely the Jackson trade from above. The AFL will not have their trading system compromised by a dud deal. It is in their interest to see that any deal serves the AFL. We will be we looked after.

I have full faith in Jason Taylor to capitalise on any trade deals resulting from a Jackson trade, should it happen. Jason is an astute judge of talent and he knows how to trade. Ironically he’s the one we don’t want to lose.

Put De Goey at full forward having shown him Jakovich’s work.

Who's our best kick for goal outside 50
Deefender replied to deelusions from afar's topic in Melbourne Demons
I saw David Neitz playing in the Under 19s and taking a set shot, with the man on the mark standing at the 50 metre line. He landed that ball on the top, repeat top of the goal post. He was a good kick! -
Outside of actual game time the MCG is intolerably NOISY on game day. I can remember watching Under 19s followed by the Reserves and Seniors. There was quietness around the ground between quarters and games. It was a relaxing day. You could even hold a conversation with the person beside you. Now it’s insanity where noise dominates.

Gold Coast is a party town not the place for a well disciplined team.

@Webber would love your feedback on the dreaded and now seemingly increasing numbers of syndesmosis injuries in the AFL. The last few years it seems like there are ever increasing numbers of it occurring are there any reasons why that might be the case Players used to wear boots that supported the foot including the ankle. Nowadays they seem to be wearing what looks like lightweight slippers. These slippers might be mind- help for the slow paced.

No love for Strawbs O'Dwyer? Strawbs is remembered fondly here.

Jimmy Stynes.

Towards the end of the home and away fixture ANB kicked a goal with a banana and 45 metres out on the boundary line. It went straight through the centre. There was no turning back from that great moment. Wonderful.

Well done Nev. (He might find himself in the firsts.)

On the other hand, there’s much satisfaction to be gained by cleaning them up in front of a hostile crowd.

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Deefender replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
After the last month our players won’t have any concerns about future away games in Perth, a happy hunting ground. -
I am surprised to see it on free to air Seven at 2.00 pm. https://www.afl.com.au/broadcast-guide-premiership

If you’re premiership worthy then you will play any team, anywhere, anytime … and win.

Stephens was taken at # 5 in the same year as Kosi and Jackson. He is suited to the centre.
-
Dylan Stephens would be good if there was no room for him at the Swans.
-
Remember Sheedy left out Derek Kickett. Essendon won easily. He should have played. Jones should stay match fit right up to the grand final.
-
Any word on Jake Bowey?
-
It’s a mystery why young fit athletes would need a rest.

Goodwin, Williams, Kosi, Lever, Petty and Neal-Bullen all hail from South Australia. These players were going ‘home’. I expected a win. Lovely to see Kosi turn it on.
