  1. That first guy looks like he just sat on another trident
  2. Could always be worse...
  3. We've got a few 1990's team shots but they're not high-res, poke around the season pages etc.. http://wiki.fcmelbourne.com.au/1997
  4. So more importantly did anyone ever find the Gold Coast logo? Or have they managed to keep it a secret unlike us? Our logo looks good, but unless the papers pick up on it there's no more than a few percent of our supporter base which will have seen it, and you can't tell me the club isn't taking notice of the comments as an off the cuff focus group. Much ado about nothing.
  5. We need some sort of cheating thug. Far too pissweak a team at the moment, needs some edge.
  6. Darren Crocker deserves credit for keeping North together when Laidley got the boot last year. The only upside is that if we're rubbish next year and it gets to a coach sacking scenario, we're probably paying Bailey minimum wage anyway so it won't cost much to give him the boot if required.
  7. This thread makes me sad. The loss of SCULLGOVE will be even worse than when they tried to give The Jurrahcane different names.
  8. And how many times does the move have to be rumbled before we realised that the "kick it long to Jamar near the boundary" play wasn't going to work yesterday.
  9. Anybody got pictures of more obscure players from the past? I'm having trouble finding photos from 2000 and before. I've got a few from the early 80's on trading cards but wondering if anyone has got newspaper articles, magazines, annual reports, footy records etc.. with pictures of your Brent Heavers, Darren Cuthbertsons, Jamie Duursmas and the like. I've got about 5000 pictures each of Stynes, Spalding, Jakovich, Lyon, Viney etc.. but it's time to fire up some of the lesser lights of our history Update - For instance does anyone have larger versions of the mid 90's team shots like this http://wiki.fcmelbourne.com.au/browseimage588 which I can crop players pictures out of.
  10. Well the 40's and 50's brought it up in the first place so it's more of a natural correction. Look at the average attendances from 1897 to the late 30's and MFC were never near the top. I was stunned (in a good way) with the number of Africans at the game the other night. Not sure if the Bulldogs were working a special promotion just for the night or whether they've really nailed that market in the west, but that's the sort of thing that we're at a disadvantage from (as usual) by not having our own geographical base. And the difference between marketing to permanent residents as opposed to international students is that they don't show an interest (hopefully) for a couple of years and then go home.
  11. It's heritage week every week for the goose who plays the music at the MCG.
  12. You'll never top James McDonald getting pinged for deliberate against Port in 2007 when we were 5 points (?) down at the 30 minute mark. He went to handball, caught tackled, it bounced over the line and the arseclown umpire pays deliberate. I lost the plot.
  13. I have been nervous at nearly every 3/4 time when we've led since that day in 1992 when we blew the seven goal lead at the last change against Essendon. Horrendous. How good was Davey's smother at the end of the 3rd?
  14. Agreed 100% on the Stef Martin Experience. Last night was one of those games where the stats didn't tell the full story of his contribution - how good was it when Bruce kicked to him in a 3 on 1 and he managed to force a contest?
  15. SECONDED. Horrid little man.
  16. You're right about the sound, I was middle deck Ponsford and couldn't even hear the start of it. Same story every week in the Ponsford Stand - you can't hear anything. Except when everything goes quiet at quarter time and you can hear them playing Pink and/or Run To Paradise
  17. Christ I hope our players don't go in with the same mindset. Seconds from disaster.
  18. 1.8 at half time says no
  19. If we don't lift our game from last week then it's hardly a certainty, don't forget we were on one goal at half-time. Positives signs and the fact that half their team out is one thing but tell me the ones who come in aren't going to be going at it 110% to try and prove themselves. VERY important to get our forward structure right and capitalise on the inevitable mistakes they'll make.
  20. Good thing it wasn't on a player from a Victorian club or we'd never hear the end of it. Having said that if it happened to one of our players there'd be people trying to lynch the guys who did it accidentally or not.
  21. Everyone thinks the umpires hate them, everyone thinks the commentators hate their side.
  22. Can we concentrate on getting one win first?
  23. Like the officials on a junket who do bugger all but get to march in the opening ceremony?
  24. A show by young adults, for young adults, talking about the problems of young adults. It's our world too right?
  25. You are aware that the winner runs out, turns around and sits in the stand aren't you?
