Thanks guys, I'll keep updating the first post as the list gets cut down. Might even add the 1890's-1940's if it gets too short Barham is a true mystery man - I've seen three potential clubs listed now. In the biggest shock of all time I went through all my books and couldn't find the Encyclopedia of Footballers or the smaller MFC only version that I owned. Thought it would be a cert to show up in minutes after the info was already posted.

Much appreciated. Now of course I will find that book in the next five minutes
-
I actually have it somewhere, but I've been trying to find it amongst my books for the last six months

Hi everyone, As part of Demon Wiki, I'm trying to find out where each of our players was recruited from. Various sources have turned up a lot of the older players but I'm still stuck with a fat list of people who I can't find recruiting info on. There's a few pretty famous names in the list but between all the usual suspects and a heap of trawling through old newspapers I simply can't find any mention. This is often because they're listed as coming from the Under 19's. In reverse order; 1970's Peter Dilnot (1972-1973) Frank Giampaolo (1973-1977) (possibly Manangatang) Laurie Queay (1972) Stephen Kerley (1971-1974) Greg MacDonald (1973) Ian McGuinness (1973) Shane McSpeerin (1971-1973) (Possibly St. Kevin's Old Boys) Kelvin Richards (1978-1979) Peter Thorne (1978-1984) 1960's Bob Carroll (1961-1964) Frank Davis (1964-1973) Ken Emselle (1962-1969) John Forster (1968-1970) Alec Ingwersen (1962) Brent Jones (1966-1971) Terry Leahy (1966-1967) (North Albury like his brothers?) Robert McKenzie (1969-1972) Mark Mitchell (1969) Ray Nilsson (1960-1963) 1950's Ben Crameri (1957-1958) Ray Hutchins (1950-1951) Robert Johnson (1954-1961) Dennis Jones (1956-1962) Con OToole (1950) Fred Webster (1955) I've also got some for every decade back to the 1890's. I won't post them here for space reasons, but if you might be able to help with some obscurities from those decades please let me know. The full list is here http://wiki.fcmelbourne.com.au/tiki-index....e+Are+They+From Cheers, SM

The best bit was the perfectly good Justin Murphy goal that got called a point. Followed closely by the J. Mac probable point that was called a goal

Right, I've gone out and bought a DVR just for the old games gimmick alone. Eventually I want to copy the matches to my computer to save them - is this in any way an easy process? Can you just stick a cable from one to the other or is there all sorts of jiggery pokery involved?

Every post with those words is a step closer to the funniest moment ever when somebody finds a way to wreck Macs en masse. -
Realistically how long is "best 22" going to last even if the planets align and you get them to round one?
-
A rookie draft player who has spent two seasons in a [censored] team. I can't understand why he's not already winning Brownlows. HANDS OFF THE MAN NAMED LIKE A HAIRDRESSER Regards, The Stefan Martin Experience season ticket holder #1 (of 1) P.S - It's amusing when people talk as if their selected 22 is the whole list. Ever heard of depth?

What if you won the $30 million tattslotto What if peace spontaneously broke out across the world. What if a fat lady sat on your sunglasses at the beach. While you were still wearing them.
-
I remember John Meesen "training the house down" and not being seen for another year and a half.
-
The fact that he had zero interest in playing for us didn't help.
-
If you're going to draw conclusions on somebody's career based on a certain game then it might be better to pick one that was played with some spirit and passion.
-
Does anyone know if there's somewhere that people post "copies" (*ahem*) of these games? I've been missing them due to no digital recorder and would love to store our games on computer for posterity. Also have they ever shown Round 2, 1998 against North? That's one of my favourite games of all time.

And of course the scum papers put the headline on their website "Carlton rookie in fatal head-on collision". How low can you go?

Jack Watts ill with a low level virus

I fully agree. One freak (not me!) starts typing in names, finds open profiles, sends links and it's on. Though having said that if they're going to do something special like crack onto 40-year-old housewives then I must know. -

The bad news is that Newton (for I think it was him) has wised up and changed FB security settings to keep people out. The word "MILF" would only have been appropriate to an 18-year-old on his first footy trip. -
Ahh I did, but let's be honest it wouldn't have been a very difficult guess otherwise - the clown was always going to do himself in again.
-
Apparently they've just rung the AFL to ask if they can trade for Andrew Lovett.

Let's get the broadcast booth happening!

I'm happy to keep watching Cuthbertson kicking goals from 15 in front.

Is it connected to the slappers in the photos from the players trip to Bali? What a legend. -
I'm retired due to injury, but here's an angle - if there's somebody who'll work the camera I'd love to call the game.

Just for an update on this I want to cross-post something here and on BF Quoth myself, URL: http://wiki.fcmelbourne.com.au Pages as of 22/12: 4,316 We have pretty much come to the end of what the internet can provide us. The club have provided a couple of lists and a few leads, but we're starting to get to the point where hard copy memorabilia is the best way to find new information. If you have anything you could share, or arrange to be scanned, please let me know. There are heaps of recent players who have rudimentary profiles. If you want to help, but can't find the time to research new stuff it would be great if you could help with these. A lot of recent games don't have a great deal of information, purely because I've been more focused on adding old stuff than concentrating on the present. I'm also looking for names/numbers/information on players who played in the reserves/U19's but not seniors. For updates Twitter-up and follow @demonwiki (not run by me) and/or @demonblog. If you want to discuss via email, send to the sexy new address of [email protected] Cheers, SM

AKA the "Name a Game" SEN were supposed to send me after Queen's Birthday last year. Despite several attempts to get it off them it got 'lost'. Next season they can cram their SEN Supergoal!
