  1. I am told from reliable sources that Lawrence played an outstanding game against Box Hill at the weekend. One of the best games ever seen by a recruit basically playing for his first time at a new club.(That is what I was actually told).Davey has stated- don't be surprised if he played for the seniors sometime this year. Great news hey?
  2. Demon Hill posted...I live in the Casey area and some of the short sighted comment in this thread is just plain ignorance and moral chest beating. The MFC have done the right thing for the club and it's sponsors by distancing themselves from this. That is all they have to do, it is then simply a decision for Casey. Yes, it is frustrating that developing forwards may get stymied by Fevola's presence, I'll give that, but whoever it is Cook, Howe etc, if they are good enough they will find room anyway. Whether at Casey or at Melbourne. I agree totally with these points but like to add..What if the MFC was truly behind the move, if not instigated it,but wanted the cover note of if...furthermore the MFC placed Robert Campbell on the Rookie list, suppossedly to cover the if, Jamar went down or to use him possibly as a second ruckman. What happens to the progress of Fitzpatrick, Gawn and Spencer in this scenario and isn't similar to Demon Hill pointing out re our young forwards. And the MFC stated it would be great to have Campbell around to help the young ruckman progress. If, and I mean if, Fevola does behave himself , he may,as I've stated earlier be a great mentor for our young forwards. Also Schwab has stated he was not concerned re Fevola's off field conduct- (note off field for RR to comprehend) therefore the MFC need to as Demetrio stated get their heads together and work it out. Gotch was recruited as he stated on Sen at around 7.30am this morning that one of his main factors of being hired was to bring on the younger players, therefore knows his commitments. Go Fev, Go Dees. Go Scorps. And lastly if he succeeds on and off the field the whole Casey area will win and also the MFC.. it could indeed also help re MFC membership through their alliance with Casey. Re the Old boy from the district comes home and succeeds.May even help us reach our goal of 40, 000 members- how knows.
  3. Firstly welcome back-I actually thought you may have left all together. Secondly, thank God we differ in our opinions.Anyhow it seems we will be able to judge the outcome at end of the year. Also I believe I have two strong allies-Jim Stynes & Gary Lyon. And may I suggest strongly that you read my post/s before you go off on a different tangent. I was referring to Betts as an example that Fevola may assist Wona-naturally on the field -not off it as you state above.
  4. Would not go sofar as to call him a great player-yepa developing player whom has a career ahead of him. Ialso don't think he has OP-but who knows?
  5. Thanks for your advise my friend . I think he can do OK this one. I will not be trading him. Also I swam atVictoria University yesterday with Brian Lake. He hope to be back around 4/6.But will not be pushing himself too far , too early.
  6. He also could become a mentoring role. Help develop the key young forwards. May alternate Full forward and centre half forward roles. He may even play Forward pocket. Cannot see much difference than when we had the alliance with Sandy- with Sautner playing at full forward or in the pocket. I can see him really helping our young forwards develop by showing them how to play positional roles. Players such as Cook, McDonald and Howe could learn a trmendous amount on field. It could be a gem pick up. Also may help forward pockets like Wona learn the skills similar to Betts when Fev was at Carlton.I cannot see it hurting the progress or development of our young list, in particular talls on field and Cam says he has no issues with Casey gaining Fevola due to his off field antics.
  7. I do understand and accept your reasons regarding your first two lines of your post, however, as I recall he came back to the venue as a true and great leader he, is because one of his teammates was in trouble and he tried to get him out of and got belted himself, I recall. No one accepts what took place. The only assault Fevola got into he got a bar attendant in a headlock, I recall. No doubt booze and gambling have been Fevola's issues and further to this-it is overall Casey's decision not ours. And furthermore, one great thing that the Debt demolitio has done for our great club is now not being in the dicatorship of the AFL therefore doing what they say. We therefore, should not tell Casey what to do also. Anmd furthermore, as you pointed out we pulled the rug from Casey back in 2009 when we would not allow our players to play- leading to Peter German going and Peter Faulk also.Lastly as I've stated his home life has been in tatters. Maybe the crayons you are sending him will help lead to a better family life, which may lead him to behave and play well for Casey which if they play finals will give great experience on the field .And what would a premiership at Casey do for this young team also.?
  8. I suggest you contact the club and ask them directly. Membership Ph: (03) 9643 1760 PO Box 204 Melbourne 3001 Email: [email protected]
  9. I am fairly reliably told Fevola has already trained with some of our young ones.
  10. In trying to get away from your sarcasm,I believe it is better to be active this way than at the Casino ot at a bar boozed. Maybe the crayons can play there bit with his daughters(make sure there are many RED & BLUE one's) and get his family life back in order.. You know J.S very well also- and don't tell me that he would not have been told before the final decision today.I'm told he trained with Casey twice last week therefore trained with our young Demons also. I am not saying this is a brilliant move- however, I believe it could be.In alot of ways it is up to him and he could be, repeat could be a shinning light. At least I hope he doesn't misbehave at all. We have had several players burn their money gambling over the last few years and I hear one or two are still currently doing so. Also, I recall, one of our favourite players got into a bit of trouble boozed at the Casino a few years ago and is now on ou payroll. Therefore we have forgiven him- hope one day we can raise our heads and say we through Casey and just maybe through the MFC we enhanced Fevola's quality of life. I have just come back from Malaysia but was at the ground- Visy Park with a couple of Demonlanders and told them he would be at Casey this week.So please send Fev the biggest box of crayons as he will need them as he will have alot of time on his hands if,we and it won't happen don't accept him. I wish him all the luck he can gain.
  11. Lucas Cook played some of his matchs for Vic Country Under 18's at CHB as well as CHF. Never Full forward. Therefore, cannot see why we cannot develop him in either of these positions and if needed play Cook at FF. and Fev in a forward pocket. Could develop into a mentor. And I hope he does- could be the best for him and the club.
  12. Totally agree. Next step- DEMONLAND.
  13. JA-THANKS
  14. Heading overseas again on the 19th March- What is the timing that we all have to lock in our first team and then after. Please advise and thank you.
  15. I totally agree- everyone at the club is under the microscope except the Board. The football department needs to really make sure this club continues to develop. No use having great cattle to put on the park but no guidance etc.. Bailey and several of the coaching team need to make sure they have done their job.No excuses now. And if they don't perform - out they go and bring in the best. That is what I elieve Robbo was getting at and IMO that is totally acceptable.
  16. Ssoosh- I think you have hit the nail on the head and this guy has so much upside. To me going forward,he is more or equal to Scully going forward.Gee, just shows how important Harrington's job is this year.
  17. No- Aaron'e new son.
  18. You ask some very valid things in your opening thread. To me, and I am different to most- I think it is a great time for coaches to try to get the players to implement what the pre season is all about, try young players and implement strategies if current plan is not working.I thought the coaching department let down the club and it's supporters yesterday as the day-game was a nothing, excepting maybe gaining some match practice into several players. I attended match and afterwards left very disappointed, not that we lost , that we did not optimise the time.
  19. Wonna is going to have to be SUPER-FIT and on his game.My best team is as follows: Best Team in 2011: B: BARTRAM WARNOCK RIVERS HB: MacDONALD FRAWLEY GRIMES C: MORTON MALONEY GARLAND HF: GREEN WATTS BATE FF: DAVEY DUNN JURRAH R: JAMAR McKENZIE SCULLY I: PETTERD SYLVIA JONES TAPSCOTT EMERG:BAIL GYSBERTS JETTA TRENGOVE BENNELL WONAEAMIRRI OR MARIC. OPENING TEAM: BARTRAM WARNOCK GARLAND GRIMES RIVERS TAPSCOTT SYLVIA MALONEY GYSBERTS GREEN WATTS BATE DAVEY DUNN JURRAH JAMAR TRENGOVE SCULLY JETTA BAIL BENNELL PETTERD
  20. Maybe if you came to the game or training you would see we are trying to have a second game plan when A does not work. Also, with so many out doesn't help. Get there and support your team.
  21. The last two weeks also showed another gaping hole. I say no Jamar no Melbourne. No onewithin cooee comes near to Jamar. Hope he stays sound for a very long time.
  22. It's quite unbelievable that a 19 year old could handle himself in the manner of maturity, professionalism and respect for himself and our club. A total credit to himself and his family.
  23. I'd say Mark Jamar would have to be considered as one of the most important players on our list.Don't you?
  24. Very well stated and let's start rejoicing tomorrow by clapping him in the Red & Blue at Visy Park.
