  1. Don't know- but Mark Stevens says- officially out. So there must be more to it-I guess.
  2. Doesn't look good .He will not be given an opportunity to play for Australia now.I went to Whitten Oval today and it was a buzz of gossip with many wild stories. All with grog.Hope they are ALL wrong and he was just going to St Kilda for an early dip- HA HA
  3. That is for now- still has to hold on foranother 6 weeks. Two more chances the Hawks have to get rid of him before final list for 2012.
  4. I heard a rumour this morning that the thought had entered the head of our football department that Harvey could want to coach his own team after a stint at Carlton & St Kilda. If he didn't it maybe a worthwhile case to place Royal as Casey coach and bring Harvey into the fold as our midfield coach.Thoughts?
  5. Trackie Dacks seems to have a reprieve for at least a week or two.
  6. Don't you mean MEATLOAF....
  7. Only wish this was true. Injuries will be the main aspect of where we finish. Your points are foundered but will take most probably (as RR has already stated) 3 years to have full impact.I'd be very satisfied if we won 10/11 games however with steady improvement and not the thrashings of 2011. Again another interesting year for the club. Go Dees.
  8. The above is a cop out- Bruce brought this on himself- he will be known as a loser whom left the ship when required.
  9. According to Sportsnewsfirst, Cam Bruce appears destined for the scrapheap - Bruce on thin edge at Hawthorn.
  10. By gee it will be a cracker- however we have 5 years to use them.Plenty of players will be on the market next year as well.
  11. Whilst we wish you a very happy birthday, we , the MFC, have given you the greatest birthday present of your lifetime. Not the overs we have paid you, but the opportunity for you to become an elite player which you have shown the promise. Now, it is up to you to give us, the happy returns from this partnership over the next 4 years.
  12. After the last month of witnessing Neeld -I feel he will definately way up what we need to go after in trade week 2012 to cover our weaknesses. However, a Dangerfield or similar type would knit our midfield beautifully IMO.
  13. We currently have 4 ruckman, Jamar, Martin, Gawn & Spencer. We have now 4 key developing forwards- Clark, Cook, Watts & Fitzpatrick. We have 4 Key defenders- Frawley, Rivers, T.McDonald , Davis. Whilst some may say Davis is a tad small-it shows me that we need to invest in another tall backman as well as midfielders.
  14. Just been analysing the merits of getting Clark and looking at the value he presents. I have no doubts we have paid overs for him but would have had to pay plenty more if indeed we had of gained Brown a couple of years ago for a million a year per our then CEO- Paul McNamee.and Brown can't stay on the park due to consistant injuries.. Any other elite players we would have had to pay a lot more for.As Mike Sheahan said today- he is a gamble but worth it. Pick 12 in this draft was worthwhile but again it is up to Clark to prove his worth. We have given him a great opportunity. It is up to him now.A four year contract is really what we required. It is your birthday tomorrow -Mitch ,I just hope you give us a happy return for our investment. Go to it- Wonder boy.
  15. It is my thought that we will keep Dunn, Maric but delist Joel McDonald.
  16. Agree totally and with Green & Davey being two of our main payouts coming to the end of their careers we will have plenty to manage our list over the time to win premierships. In particular with free trade coming on board from next year.
  17. I am led to believe that the gaining of Clark became a family affair, with Cam's daughter picking up the appropriate paperwork in Perth to gain signatures. To all and sundry - great work Dees & THANK YOU ALL.
  18. What a month in the life of the new coach. On the anniversary of his first month we even tried to gain Josh Caddy but here are the facts of what has happened.... 17 - Melbourne announces Mark Neeld as its new senior coach. The 40-year-old former Geelong and Richmond player and Collingwood assistant coach signs a three-year deal with Melbourne. Neeld says: “I simply want to coach the team that is the hardest to play against in the AFL”. 20 - The Demons name Dave Misson as its new elite performance manager. Misson is regarded as one of the finest fitness coaches in Australian sport. Misson joins the Demons after a four-year stint at St Kilda. Earlier that day, Melbourne announces the departure of Mark Williams, Scott West and Joel Hocking. 21 - Chris Connolly becomes general manager of club development - a newly-created position - and Josh Mahoney, who was forward coach, takes over as football manager. Connolly was general manager of football. Brian Royal takes over as midfield coach, after guiding the backline in 2010. Aaron Greaves is named midfield assistant coach, after coaching Geelong Falcons in the TAC Cup. 23 - Brent Moloney caps off an outstanding season, winning his first Keith ‘Bluey’ Truscott Memorial Trophy. Moloney wins the club best and fairest from Jared Rivers, James Frawley, Nathan Jones and Jack Trengove. New senior coach Mark Neeld addresses the Melbourne faithful for the first time. He says: “I figured I got here doing it my way, so I’m just going to keep doing it my way.” 26 - Melbourne is allocated a total of $9.1 million from 2012-16, after the AFL announces its $1.1 billion club funding and equalisation strategy to to ensure the viability and competitiveness of the 18 AFL clubs during the next five years. 27 - Dual premiership player and two-time best and fairest winner Stuart Spencer passes away. He was aged 79. Spencer played in Melbourne’s 1955-56 flags and also won the club champion in those seasons. 28 - The Demons announce former Richmond coach and Brisbane Lions assistant Jade Rawlings as its new backline coach. The Dees also appoint former Werribee coach Paul Satterley as its development forward line coach. 29 - Melbourne wins the services of former Adelaide coach Neil Craig, who joins the club as director of sports performance. Craig, who coached the Crows to 92 wins from 166 matches from 2004-11, was strongly pursued by several AFL clubs and other non-AFL organisations. Craig said: “In Mark Neeld I see a coach that has a clear vision and I wanted to be part of this coaching group that will work really hard to give the members and supporters what they have been craving for." October 3 - Just two days after playing in a losing grand final, Leigh Brown is named Melbourne’s forward line coach. Brown, who played in Collingwood’s 2010 premiership, retired with 246 matches to his name after playing with North Melbourne, Fremantle and the Magpies. 10 - Club general manager of list management Tim Harrington says at the start of trade week that Melbourne will focus on luring a 17-year-old from the Greater Western Sydney trade incentive scheme. 11 - Melbourne names former Bulldog Andrew Nichol as its backline coach. Nichol coached the under 16 Vic Metro Metro team and was assistant coach for Oakleigh Chargers in the TAC Cup in 2011. 12 - Melbourne general manager of list management Tim Harrington says it was in the best interests of the club to step away from a deal to secure highly-rated youngsters Jaeger O’Meara or Brad Crouch. He said: “Early in the week, the focus on the week was on the 17-year-old trading scheme. We were strongly involved in that, but we also had a well considered walk away position. There was a point where we didn’t want to go any further to achieve these deals.” 13 - Brad Green signs on for the 2012 season. Green, who was named captain in 2011, will line up for his 13th AFL season, after he was drafted at No.19 in the 1999 AFL Draft. The 30-year-old said: “I’m excited to be at the club. We’ve got a lot of hard work to do over the pre-season, but I’m looking forward to getting it started and working with the likes of Mark Neeld, Neil Craig and Dave Misson.” 13 - The Demons confirm they are targeting Brisbane Lions forward/ruckman Mitch Clark. “We are definitely interested in the possibility of Mitch Clark coming to the club. Late yesterday (Wednesday), I contacted [brisbane Lions national talent manager] Robbie Kerr to express our interest,” Melbourne general manager of list management Tim Harrington says. 14 - Melbourne quartet Brad Green, James Frawley, Colin Sylvia and Jack Trengove are named in the Australian squad for the upcoming International Rules Series against Ireland at Etihad Stadium (October 28) and Metricon Stadium (November 4). 15 - Just one day after informing the football fraternity that he wants to join Fremantle, former Lion Mitch Clark stunningly joins Melbourne. The Demons secure Clark in exchange for selection No.12. The deal is done just before 10pm Melbourne time. 17 - General manager of list management Tim Harrington says Melbourne “stuck to their plan and persevered” with pursuing former Lion and new Demon Mitch Clark. Harrington says: “We had targeted specific objectives and we had a course of action where we thought ‘this is how we’ll play it’. It’s no secret that we have a real need for a big-bodied presence in our forward line to compliment a range of players we have in our forward line.” And tried valiantly to gain Caddy .
  19. I would say our coaching panel would have a real insight on whether he or any others from Colliwobble land leaves.
  20. I think Fevola would do as good a job as Jack Watts has done on our new sponsors adds. Yu never know -the sponsor may offer him a great incentive re cheaper energy for kicking more than 50 goals. Now let's be realistic. 5 clubs have now stated NO to Fevola today- North, Ess, St K, W.B, & Carlton. This leaves- Hawks, (extremely doubtful after getting Gunston)-Collingwood- good security.. Richmond and us.. To whom needs him most- US. I think it is time for you to wake up --'why you little'.
  21. I can assure you that I'm awake and not dreaming. And at least another List Manager thinks the same- just hope it is Tim..
  22. So true - that is why we should have worked with Fevola earlier.
  23. I like this exchange.
  24. It would be the recruit of the century if we obtained him NOT stupidity as you put in. You are just being narrow minded. He has not misbehaved since joining Casey. Still would be at least a 50 goal kicker and this would basically make us a finals team. Just imagine a forward team of: Sylvia Watts Jurrah Davey Fevola Gawn(interchanging with Jamar) I say- WOW.
  25. Fair comment- we seem to be getting goood press for having a go at getting Clark from Brisbane although I feel we are paying overs for him if we succeed.Re Denham, I feel his comments are reasonable from where we have been.
