Training - Friday 10th February, 2017 at Olympic Park
DeeZee replied to Drunkn167's topic in Melbourne Demons
Intra clubs are hard because they all know the game plan e.g. The defense know what the forwards are going to do and vice versa. More of a fitness hit out and exersize in ball movement , trying out plays in match conditions. -
Ok it's Lewis McDonald Gawn and Vince
-
Sen just said the six man leadership group had been announced and Lewis was in it but didn't mention any others
-
I'm sure they have good reasons for it but not a fan personally
-
I'd go Jones Lewis Viney McDonald Gawn and Watts. i just Reckon Watts is ready and it would be good to have one of the leaders up forward
-
I heard training was on today, did anyone go?
-
I'm confident. The younger players will improve , and guys like Lewis, Melksham and Hibberd will add to our strength . I believe we will also have a harder edge.

Great reporting Wayne

Much loved and deserved better

Yes but Stefan was a Ruckman, a tall mobile back who only goes into the ruck to give Maxy a rest would work better.

The bone of contention on that third tall is whether they can chop out in the ruck or not. Thinking out side the square, why does the relief ruck man have to be a forward? Why couldn't someone like Frost who plays third tall back , learn a bit of ruck craft? Certainly has the body for it, especially if Wattsy can do it. Once Frost goes into the ruck, Gawn can rest in the forward pocket and Watts can go down back for a spell. That way the third tall can be played as a pure forward like a Weideman or a Hannan

Melbourne midfield ranked worst in AFL by Champion Data
DeeZee replied to SaberFang's topic in Melbourne Demons
Statistics allow you to bend the truth to put what ever spin you want to put on it. Collingwood aparently have the best midfield in the comp.........that wasn't good enough to make the eight last year. Laughable really ,and another nail in the coffin of credibility for Champion data , which has lost its way a tad. -
Thanks Barry

Jack Watts is really our second tall

Tim Smith could be a real smokey this year, super competitive, very good one on one and in the air, and a reliable kick to boot!
