The team has no right to turn up to games not giving full intensity from the start. Teasing supporters with one great quarter, one break even and two poor, which seems to be our form this year. They haven't achieved anything yet, really just an ordinary middle of the road side. you'd think they would be hungrier to actually achieve something special.

I thought Petracca and Salem could have done more today

Wat irks me is that we bring in players like Wagner, Bugg, JKH etc after coming back from injury with no real solid consistent form for Casey, but guys like Steetch who have the runs in the board and Trengove who gets 30 every week dont get picked.

The first fifteen minutes of that last quarter we really had to go on with it but didn't as they were too clever out of the center.

Our ball use in the first half was putrid , and Hawthorn really used their talls and out marked us all day . What upset me the most was our lack of defensive pressure as too many times we didn't offer much of a contest not even trying to punch the ball away from the Hawthorn forward who often marked uncontested With Gawn we are a good side , but by the time he returns it will be too late for this year.

Max Gawns injury has cost us the season

We've turned it into a running game

While the Macdonald brothers play for Melbourne we will never be a contender

I really wish this game was at Etihad, that's a real fortress for us.

TEAM SELECTION AND MATCH PREVIEW - ROUND SEVEN
DeeZee replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think it's also about what combinations and structures can implement the game plan more efficiently. Players like Wagner can free up Guys like Lewis and Vince to play up the ground more. Oscar Mac in the side gives us the ability to play TMac as a loose man. JKH was apparently burning it up and in the pre season, so another chance to bring that game day. -

I think we will tell in the first fifteen minutes as long as we don't squander opportunities. Get a decent lead and build on it -

TEAM SELECTION AND MATCH PREVIEW - ROUND SEVEN

Maybe they want skill by foot and play both Wagner and Salem, ANB would be very stiff to get dropped, so would Dom on last weeks performance even though he had a couple of bad clangers. Im almost certain OMac and Kent won't play, can't pick the third out though could be Stretch. -
TEAM SELECTION AND MATCH PREVIEW - ROUND SEVEN

Strange that Dom is on the extended bench, when the coaches even gave him votes last week. With Melksham out i reckon it would be either a Wagner or a Salem as they both can play half back . Im not sure if Kent will come in as we have named Hannan and JKH in the starting line up. i think a fresh Stretch would give some handy run, but don't think OMac will play as he was brought in as part of a plan for Joe Daniher last week and didn't really set the world on fire. -
The Media stuff us just part of the journey , you've got to learn to deal with that stuff to be a good team as well. It was always going to come once we got some decent players.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD

Thrives playing on the big stage -
I just think he has a bit of the yips or lacking some confidence at the moment, normally a very good player and if you see him at Training he is one of our classiest players next to Watts and Salem. When he is on he is kicking goals as well, after yesterday's second half I came away thinking he isn't far away from it.
-
Always thought that he was the best third tall relief Ruck option we have, and had he been in the side we may have won some of those close ones . But I suppose we find things out as we go along and a forward line ofWatts Hogan and Pederson with Gawn in the ruck could see us do some damage in the last six rounds. Weideman just looks like he needs another pre season
-
Had more goal assists than anyone on the ground. Before that we were really struggling to convert inside 50, so he helped create space for the likes of Watts, Pettacca, Jeffry and Hannan, best our forward line had worked all year and that's without Hogan.

I would say Hogan will have one more week off

Hope Rioli doesn't play
