  1. It's just unfortunate that he had the preseason injury or he'd be firmly in our best 22. He just has to keep performing in the VFL and his time will come and when it does I'm confident he'll grab the opportunity. Still early days, a long season ahead of us.
  2. Exactly but then that "big team contender" would actually need to have the salary cap space.
  3. Agreed although he has to weigh up what he wants out of footy - stick with this group who has real belief and are all signing on to achieve something? Or take the cash and get $1.5m a year to play at North?
  4. Exactly there's a reason we got rid of him. I still remember Roos having a crack at both Howe and Watts during the break of a night game vs Sydney. You could tell he was exasperated trying to get these guys to adhere to the structure and team rules.
  5. Or alternatively, give us the option to select different audio feeds so we can listen to one of the radio station commentaries while watching. They don't dull the crowd mics either so you can actually hear the roars of the crowd like you do when you're at the game. Channel 7 dulls the crowd mics so we don't miss any of BT's zingers or Hamish McLachlans quips.
  6. That's exactly what I thought as well?
  7. Was that Carlton game the "bruise free footy" game?
  8. Ayers Rock (Uluru) is still there - you just can't climb it
  9. This is actually a great result and hopefully sees the AFL move to flexible fixture in the future. There's no way they would have had us vs Bris in NT or vs Dogs on a Friday night when creating the fixture last year
  10. When I first heard the podcast when it began I thought it was pretty low quality (production wise) and too dry for my liking. It is now my favourite Melbourne Demons podcast (and there are a few out there!) Well done guys, the discussion is always intelligent and engaging, I love listening to it while I'm working or driving somewhere. @Binman, the lack of stats and analysis in the mainstream media has been a huge bugbear of mine for a long time as well. Champion Data don't even release the "Prospectus" anymore which I used to buy each year for an overview. Sure not everyone is going to enjoy it but with the amount of media coverage you'd think there would be some market for that type of coverage. What there is is extremely limited and those that do do some more in depth coverage like Mark McGowan on the AFL website get the flick!
  11. "Yeah Robbo, Dusty's amazing. In between racking up 40 touches and kicking the sealer I made sure to keep an eye out for him so I could witness the beauty of his 6 possessions first hand."
  12. My thinking is they'll bring in Weid and Sparrow but I could easily see it being Brown and Harmes (assuming he's recovered from his wrist fracture). My only concern with Brown coming in is the potential to upset our forward half pressure as he is notorious for going missing once the ball hits the ground. Weid on the other hand doesn't mind laying the odd crunching tackle.
  13. It's been a little over 2 weeks, not quite a month
  14. Especially considering he was actually not bad last week, I thought he played his role (but of course not sure about his defensive work)
  15. I agree. I assume Sparrow will be back in
  16. I've seen articles he's written begin with phrases such as, "Watched the Bombers game last night." Not, "I watched the Bombers game" just "Watched the Bombers game". And he is the chief football writer at the city's most widely read paper, his articles are written as though he is half [censored] having a chat at the pub.
  17. It was actually on line and then completely faded right. Didn't kick through the footy enough?
  18. No, the point was that to assume a player is good just because he was picked up by the Hawks/Clarko is illogical. Plenty of others on that list too.
  19. Goodwin
  20. Even if its moved to Docklands I doubt they'll let crowds in
  21. It was Viney and he tried to bait him again yesterday in the 3rd quarter at a centre bounce. Didn't work this time though.
  22. Last time I went to the snow was 13 years ago with a group of mates none of who follow Melbourne. While they were snowboarding I sat in the bar. Before that I went once as a kid with my folks but that's it.
