Mcrae and Libba are the only Bulldogs I'd be interested in. Unless they put them up (they won't), I'd be looking elsewhere.

He sounds like a [censored]. Bugger off, Blease. Is tw-at too offensive?

I thought it was more of a swipe at the AFLPA, BB. I think he'll be safe from the wrath of AFL House in any case.

Potential Trades [Warning: Reading this thread may self-destruct]
Adam The God replied to Dr evil's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yeah, they haven't seemed too concerned about losing either, but I thought it was telling that Roos praised Frawley and barely mentioned Mitch. -
I agree, mate. He was clearly deemed expendable. Dunn was going to come a lot cheaper, is a better kick and arguably more versatile. Frawley had been a terrific one-on-one defender in the past, but there are more pressing needs.

RIP Robbie Flower - Sad Passing of a True Champion
Adam The God replied to KLV's topic in Melbourne Demons
Absolutely devastating. I was born in 1987, so I never saw Robbie play in the flesh, but watched copious video tapes of him. Seemed like salt of the earth off the field too. RIP, Robbie. -

I agree, but with the family connection, I can't see them letting Wallis go. -
We've got pick 3. It's fine. Calm down everyone. They make it up as they go along anyway. If a rule needs to be changed, it will be.
-
I agree, mate. I just can't see GWS giving up their two best mids for more draft picks. They are seemingly keen to spread the age of their list, but they won't give up both of them.
-
How is this a harsh decision? Are we forgetting the midfield he had at his disposal? Came a year later than it should have.

Melbourne considering shifting its base to MCG
Adam The God replied to M_9's topic in Melbourne Demons
If you mean the line "The Demons are set to announce a small profit this year, thanks in part to the signing of new sponsors", I think it is referencing signings such as AHG and Southern China Airlines. Could be wrong though. I heard a couple of weeks ago that we were going to post a modest profit and none of that came from AFL handouts. -
I reckon he'll be alright, particularly if we get Danger. Less pressure on him in the middle.
-
Apologies. Getting my years mixed up. The last few have sort of rolled into one. What I meant was that his breakout was 2012, so to give him the captaincy prior to that (ie the start of 2012) didn't make sense to me. I agree he should have been a co captain or captain at the top of 2013.
-
Oh well. Jaded'll be happy.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HERITIER LUMUMBA
Adam The God replied to Moonshadow's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd take Garland every day of the week. Also, if I was Roos, I'd be floating Howe as trade bait. Would take Frost as well though. -
Cue gif with girl saying 'why can't we have both?'
-
Rightly so. Jones's breakout year was 2013. He was too inconsistent even in 2012. He tried to break tackles and would get caught every time. He's learnt his limitations since and became a much better player for it and deserved the captaincy when he got it.
-
Given your sources down at Geelong, mate, any chance you'd know any others they might put on the table?

Yeah, one of my mates was having a go at me for us getting him. I don't see the problem. Welcome HL. -

Can't see us going to the draft with our early picks and I hope we don't. -
Not necessarily. We courted Lyons last year as well. It's only natural we'd caught him again as his situation hasn't really changed much and neither has ours. We still need more mids.
-
They may just cost us less too. GWS seem happy to trade with us a bit, so I'd say one of them is very gettable. Just not sure they'd let both go.
-
He's probably off, yeah, but people are too eager to grab their pitch forks based on rumour and innuendo. I'd be waiting for confirmation before I start sprouting off abuse at people. (certainly not saying you're one of those though, mate)
-
Surely we'd offer Shiel and Treloar big contracts. But Roosy also likes to go for those guys from left field.
-
I reckon we're gonna need more mids than that, mate. I reckon we have to add three or four more. The likes of Matt Jones and Bail should be pushed out next year. Would love to start with Dangerfield and Shiel though.
