  1. If you mean the line "The Demons are set to announce a small profit this year, thanks in part to the signing of new sponsors", I think it is referencing signings such as AHG and Southern China Airlines. Could be wrong though. I heard a couple of weeks ago that we were going to post a modest profit and none of that came from AFL handouts.
  2. Cue gif with girl saying 'why can't we have both?'
  3. Given your sources down at Geelong, mate, any chance you'd know any others they might put on the table?
  4. Can't see us going to the draft with our early picks and I hope we don't.
  5. Not necessarily. We courted Lyons last year as well. It's only natural we'd caught him again as his situation hasn't really changed much and neither has ours. We still need more mids.
  6. I reckon we're gonna need more mids than that, mate. I reckon we have to add three or four more. The likes of Matt Jones and Bail should be pushed out next year. Would love to start with Dangerfield and Shiel though.
  7. Lol, that'd be great, but there's no way they'd give up their three best players and a promising KPP for picks 2 and 3.
  8. I'd take Conca for a second rounder though, if we had the appropriate pick.
  9. Lovin' it. Good on you, Jack.
  10. I'd certainly take Greene if the price was right (read lowish). He seems like a [censored] of a bloke and he certainly isn't an A grader, but if Roos and co can curve his seeming poor off-field behaviour and he improves his tank (via Misson), he could be a little win for us.
  11. Exactly. We made a small profit and as I understand it, not a cent of it was from an AFL handout. That was the previous year.
  12. Gee, there's a culture problem down at Hawthorn.
  13. Sewell, for mine, is still a better option than McKenzie. Although, ideally it'd be good to not need either. Sewell would still be ahead of quite a few of our guys, IMO. Unless we experience some drastically improved list changes.
  14. Yeah, I'm not sure we need to offer the world here. I think pick 2 or 3 could get the deal done. It's either that for Adelaide or a mid first round compensation pick next year when he leaves as a FA or whoever finishes bottom next year giving up pick 1. If I was Adelaide, I'd certainly consider it.
  15. But it may only be a case of a differential of $100-$200k. In which case, Dangerfield may well sign with a club (with a deemed brighter future) for slightly less than what we're offering.
  16. I see where you're going here, Roost, but I don't think we should underestimate the distabalising effect of getting rid of your heart & soul player and captain (again). Junior Mac should have taught us that and even Barassi's defection. I don't think there'd be much gained here and if anything it could send us backwards. I'm not saying Jones is a better player than Dangerfield necessarily, but it's too fraught with risk. For the record, IMO, Jones is more consistent, but Dangerfield is a game breaker.
  17. Absolutely. That is the main stumbling block to this dream, IMO. Still, if Crouch was offered over a mill a season, his brother may say, take it.
  18. Does anyone know if Brad Crouch re-signed with the Crows? Or did he sign a three year deal with them? EDIT. I'd be going after him.
  19. I'm mostly with you buck, but I think the group-think is that you have to put someone with currency up. Toumpas has only had two seasons and was a top 5 pick. I think he may still come good, but he may not get the chance at Melbourne.
  20. Yeah, I just meant players of his ilk and age bracket. He's probably not worth a first rounder though, you're right.
  21. I tend to agree, rjay. What we really need to get out of this off season is two or three midfielders. I'd be leaning towards the likes of Shiel, Mitchell and say Prestia (if the latter wasn't contracted). But those types. Give up both top picks (2 and probably 3) and any other draft compensation picks we get if Clark leaves.
  22. Can you someone please tell me we're going after Presita?
  23. He appears lazy to me. He seems to have a lot of talent, but still drifts in and out of games. I'd take him as a ruckman, but then I think about the whole ASADA and I think they're all damaged goods.
  24. It makes a little bit of sense. We need another ruckman, but also a KPF that can ruck. That'll leave Dawes and Hogan to play true KPF.
