  1. The omission made the team stronger.
  2. You know what, DA, looking at any of those teams, they are pretty strong. With the exception of Grimes and perhaps McDonald, the disposal ability of the rest seems markedly better than this year. Funny that. The Dangerfield team looks dynamic and exciting when you add his simple name to it. Having an out and out star changes the feel of a team. Suddenly, the opposition have to deal with Dangerfield, Jones, Tyson and Vince. Not to mention a developing Viney, with Cross and Sewell in support.
  3. I agree to an extent, HH. That's why it'd be important to have a trigger for a 2nd year. I can't see it being a problem if we took him for a year. Not much to lose, IMO.
  4. Which is probably just about the same as the Cross deal.
  5. Yeah, I'd be proffering a one year contract with a trigger for a second year based on lack of injury and potentially games played.
  6. It's linked to the available cattle most of the time. You only had to watch even half of our games this year to see our players were incapable of basic AFL skills once under pressure. Get another 6-8 AFL standard players, add them to the 6 or so we picked up last off season and the four or five others we have and we can field a side that can win 8 or so games next year. We're not going to be playing Bailey's style of football, so if you expect that you'll be disappointed. With a functioning forwardline, you'll see a rise in forward thrusts and more attacking play.
  7. I couldn't give a toss how we win, just bloody win. That's the aim of the game, FCS. Given where we've been, I can't believe people are whingeing about game style.
  8. That Bulldogs forum sounds like some of the rubbish some Demonlanders proffer from time to time (read - regularly).
  9. That's right. I remember thinking he'd kick 10 that day. He was dominating his opponents and then went down during that second quarter. It seemed pretty innocuous at the time. Anyway, that's a nice little tangent, best saved for the MC thread.
  10. I thought Clark kicked four that game he broke down against GWS? My memory is rubbish.
  11. Jamar's one of them.
  12. Overrated at this point in time. He and Jimmy Toumpas have just about the same career stats and some on here want to get rid of JT. I know stats can be deceiving, but I wouldn't be trading a top pick for MB, even if we did get their first rounder back.
  13. Paul made a very good point though. It could very much matter. If the Crows wanted to take a KPF and that was part of the allure of trading Dangerfield, we couldn't deal with both clubs, because they'd both be after the same thing.
  14. I'd say there are smoke screens all over the place, mate. Roos seems to be a master of this. We'll quietly go about our business and you watch. We'll land a decent mid or two this off season.
  15. Mcrae and Libba are the only Bulldogs I'd be interested in. Unless they put them up (they won't), I'd be looking elsewhere.
  16. He sounds like a [censored]. Bugger off, Blease. Is tw-at too offensive?
  17. I thought it was more of a swipe at the AFLPA, BB. I think he'll be safe from the wrath of AFL House in any case.
  18. Yeah, they haven't seemed too concerned about losing either, but I thought it was telling that Roos praised Frawley and barely mentioned Mitch.
  19. I agree, mate. He was clearly deemed expendable. Dunn was going to come a lot cheaper, is a better kick and arguably more versatile. Frawley had been a terrific one-on-one defender in the past, but there are more pressing needs.
  20. Absolutely devastating. I was born in 1987, so I never saw Robbie play in the flesh, but watched copious video tapes of him. Seemed like salt of the earth off the field too. RIP, Robbie.
  21. I agree, but with the family connection, I can't see them letting Wallis go.
  22. We've got pick 3. It's fine. Calm down everyone. They make it up as they go along anyway. If a rule needs to be changed, it will be.
  23. How is this a harsh decision? Are we forgetting the midfield he had at his disposal? Came a year later than it should have.
