  1. My thoughts exactly. Look at the Port Adelaide result. No way are they a 3 goal side but the conditions they played in exacerbated the after effects of Darwin so it makes me absolutely believe that MFC should stand firm in ensuring that the game next year is played before the "bye" or rest weekend.
  2. Give Millar a break. What do you expect the way the ball was delivered into him (which wasn't very often)
  3. Often during the week whilst ringing unrenewed members it was mentioned what a wonderful club we had and how proud they were to say that they supported Melbourne.I don't think it is not just because we have such an amazing future in front of us but "inclusive" was the word used most often. The other comment was obviously how wonderful Jim was but also the brilliant programmes the club has initiated amongst our aboriginal community. The other comment I have was did anyone else notice last home game how everyone seems to be wearing their scarves or jumpers. It would be interesting if the Club has numbers of uptake of scarves in relation to numbers of members. I just get the feeling amongst supporters in general that the passion has returned. I know it didnt ever leave all of us tragics but it is just so good to go to the football and see young kids and teenagers returning to watch "their" team.
  4. Ed I think there was an element of sarcasm from Jaded (as usual)
  5. I cant wait to see Luke Tapscott. Can we start a Luke Tapscott thread ala Jack Watts thread
  6. Don't worry you will note the difference fairly easily. We have teeth!! Get to the ground early because it is going to be huge.
  7. He is a nasty self-opinionated, self-serving man who holds grudges for far too long (way past anyone else that cares).
  8. 6. jetta 5. frawley 4. bennell 3. miller 2. jamar 1. davey
  9. He looks in great shape. He has really trimmed down. I am sure with all his family watching from the stands he will play a blinder and vindicate the faith the club has shown him.
  10. Thanks Bails. I always look forward to your posts.
  11. The Club desparately needs support for the upcoming ball. I believe the response has not been as expected at this point. If anyone is interested in making up a table please contact the Club tomorrow.
  12. Just seen on Cameron's twitter that Strauss is going up on the plane. May mean nothing or something
  13. What about the way Greeny gets the boys together sometimes and "talks" to them. He wouldn't be in the leadership group unless the Club and the players believed that he was a leader in the truest sense of the word.
  14. The Melbourne Board have no say as to who plays and who doesn't.
  15. MFC Bentleigh Club or Leigh Oak in Oakleigh - there is always a crowd of Melbourne supporters and they do a nice selection of nibbles at half time
  16. How can the Club encourage suporters to the Geelong game at Skilled Stadium. A couple of years ago the Club put on a Melbourne train to Geelong. Should we also encourage the Club to somehow make tickets available in a certain area for Melbourne supporters. (I'm not sure that is feasible). Geelong gets such a bias from umpires because of the numbers of supporters. Any ideas?
  17. I know this is a little off topic but just commenting on how we support our club I was so shattered by the way they played on Saturday that I walked out before they had come off the field. I always stay and support them off the field even in our darkest days but not on Saturday. I couldn't even look at them. On past performances that was a game that was ours. To make it worse how many Saturday games do we ever have. How on earth do we expect supporters to turn up (and not just the diehards) if they are going to be treated to that. Saying that however I would never stop going to games despite the teams performance.
  18. No. There is no way that Aaron would miss the game in Darwin unless he was physically unable to play. If you have heard him talk about his family and friends and the inspiration that AFL is to aboriginal men and women that they can achieve and that he wants to be part of that inspiration. He often talks about his friends who could have made it in the AFL but succumbed to drugs and alcohol. I would like to see Aussie play with Aaron and Jamie and maybe even Neville and I also hope that the Club take Liam up to the game as well. I want everyone to see what an inclusive club we have become under Jimmy.
  19. and complained of a migraine after the knock..
  20. Before the siren even went Beau Waters ran passed Tom Scully and gave him an almighty push which Tom obviously wasn't expecting and before he could recover Waters had run on but James McDonald had seen it and ran from the centre circle to confront Waters and gave him a rustle up. No one touches our Tom.
  21. BAILS you have done it again. Truely inspirational
  22. Can we please not have such negative talk about Jimmy. Lets all be positive because if anyone is to beat this thing it will be Jimmy especially if he has us all thinking positively. The power of positive thinking.
