  1. Jaded this is great news for you (and us). This is just the start. Even if only a few items get taken up at least you will come to the notice of people who could further your career. Well done.
  2. I actually made eye contact with a motorist at the petrol pump who had a 09 membership sticker on his merc. I asked him if he had renewed his membership . He thought for a minute and said absolutely (Obviously MCC member) and then asked me if I worked for the Club. Maybe each one of us could take it upon ourselves to ask the question of someone with an 09 members sticker. HAVE YOU RENEWED? Let's get the membership drive into overdrive.
  3. One word err two words - BRENDAN GALE - in the same mould as our leader at AFL HQ
  4. Jaded. loved them especially vintage tee, polos, hoodies (zipped) and I loved the silver and navy blue colours. Much more tasteful than what we had last year. Just go for it. Good luck. Let us know when you get a response from the Club.
  5. Two sheds. Great news. We are all with you on this so keep fighting on. Keep us posted.
  6. since this thread is semi re brock mclean and I dont know if this has already been reported elsewhere as I have been away but friend from CAAARLTON has told me that our Brock has been bad mouthing Dean Bailey at the club. Has anyone else heard this.
  7. Wj hopefully you are as good lawyer (sol) as you are storyteller. Great reading.
  8. I loved it today when he either missed a kick for goal or just missed kicked it (in front of mcc members) and he was absolutely filthy on himself. Good to see a little passion coming back.
  9. What about the crowd today. Every time Liam got the ball the crowd went crazy just expecting him to do something brilliant. I can remember when Farmer first came on the scene he created the same sense of excitement but I think Liam is even better than a young Jeff Farmer. Liam has it all. My greatest fear is that we put too higher expectation on him to do those amazing things every week. I can't wait for next year with him part of our fabulous forwards.
  10. There may be another thread along these lines but does anyone wonder why GLyon has "suddenly" changed his mind re coaching. Is it because he sees the ease that Voss and Buckley (kind of) has had in stepping straight into senior coaching role that he has allowed himself to think about coaching. I don't know if anyone would deny that they would love to have the great one back at the club in a coaching role. Can GL see what an amazing couple of years that his old team has in front of them that is encouraging him to step up. He can always go back to his media role. If in all this there is even a slight degree of truth where does this put Dean Bailey. He has put the hard yards in and developed the team to where they may/will make the finals. Why shouldn't he take them the whole way and Garry goes and coaches another team. Would we do a Collingwood and do everything to secure him for the future. Should we. We have been fairly cut throat with our player departures would we be so cut throat with Dean Bailey if GL was suddenly available to coach his beloved Dees.
  11. I wish I knew what to say. I don't know you but we can all hear your pain. Let your family help you. They will be devastated but equally they will want to do this with you. Seeing a counsellor with your family may halp but most of all fight it and be positive because good things do happen. Keep reading the forum if for nothing but a good laugh at some of the idiotic things people post here (myself included) Good luck and best wishes to you and your family.
  12. Ta;lking to some Richmond fans today and they said they will be very happy to have Martin. They had seen him play and said that he is really outstanding and given that Scully and Trengove are taking all the limelight hoping that he doesnt go early.
  13. You obviously didn't see Robbo's comments in the Age re comments made on blogs that really do offend players. I think you would be surprised who reads this forum. So maybe we should contain our comments to legitimate arguments and not personal insults. We can all have opinions but keep in mind that some on this forum can be offensive in the extreme and we really don't know who reads what.
  14. Did anyone hear Cam Bruce being interviewed today and when asked about Robbo he hesitated and then said that it would be great for Robbo to get a full preseason and that his type of injury takes a long time to get back. I'm wondering if Cam is putting forward an argument that he should be given one more year.
  15. Today was good so I can put up with two more losses then bring on Scully and others and then 2010. It was good for all those young boys out there to get the feeling of a win and all that brings. Hopefully next year more supporters will at least turn up. Absolutely pathetic supporters. It was embarassing.
  16. I had to laugh when I saw that Newton was one of the players that Melbourne supporters blame for their losses (Age today). He is the reason.
  17. Heard the latest from Carltank supporters today. Deal is - Scully to Carltank, Fevola to Freo, Pavlich to Dees. My answer we are after long term greatness not short term fix its. I don't like all this talk from Carlton people about Scully.
  18. Bails said today that he has 26 fit players to choose from. Could the unthinkable happen - Freo beats us Scary thing is maybe we're not tanking.
  19. I know that this was bought up a week or so ago but a friend of mine had lunch with some influential Carltank supporters who discussed the fact that Carlton want our Scully and that Fev + ? may be used as trade bait, that there would be a number of clubs in an interchange of draft picks. My friend thought this was interesting as we had discussed the rumour and its relevance after it was mentioned here and decided then that it had no relevance. My fear is that Carlton would stoop to anything to get Scully. Can anyone tell me what the status of Fev's contract is - one year to go - not that that matters I suppose. As long as MFC stays at 16 no one else can get their hands on him. Now this may be the "Crap" that Deeflog is talking about but I thought it was interesting that Carltank supporters are obviously talking about it and these people would not be reading a supporter website.
  20. Can anyone remember if Carlton were vilified last year like we are being at the moment. I don't remember Carlton being put under the intense scrutiny after they tanked last year. Stuff it anyway, we know where we're going and I can't wait for next year to start. I'm so excited (feel a song coming on)...
  21. I had a little boy maybe 8 years old crying behind me but his Dad was very pleased. What can you say to explain that it is all for the better. I hated being there but it was great to see Spencer chase and scrag, Nathan Jones do his in and unders, to watch the continual development of Stef Martin (until he went off)and Jetta and see that Newton left on the ground to make sure that it was harder for us to win!! Short term pain long term gain.
  22. WJ - As usual succinct and entertaining. I hope you are right re Tiges.
  23. Last Thursday Neville Jetta's Mum said that we could have had the best Jetta - Lewis. May have been a little" tongue in cheek" but she certainly bought it up.
