  1. I would always go to the finals even if our firsts wern't in but the reserves were You still felt part of it. Maybe one game per week on a rotation system. I don't know how the MCG and Etihad would feel having an extra game on the turf though.
  2. I think you underestimate in what high esteem Junior is held by the Club and the players. He is the ultimate quiet achiever and has also been one of the catalysts for the great indigenous programmes that the Club is pursueing
  3. All of you have forgotten that Spencer is from Queensland. He could be a target.
  4. Move over Jack Grimes. He will be our next leader after Beamer/Green/Davey. He was thoughtful, succinct and mature in his answers. After watching him in the replay throwing his arms around giving everyone directions - it was brilliant. A born leader of men.
  5. You're usually good but I hope not this time
  6. Also it was fairly predictable when the girlfriend said that he had done "many bad things in the past" but since being at Collingwood it had got so much worse
  7. Rewatching the replay today of the last quarter Danny Hughes looked like he had a small ping of his hamstring. He seemed to run it out though.
  8. I liked the way Anderson deflected criticism of the umpires wearing pink. That we should not be too hard on all those people who had tried to develop the pink theme. They didnt make the ultimate decision on what umpires wore on game day/night. Talk about not accepting responsibility for bad decisions.
  9. If we have been rolled over this time it will be interesting as to who gets rolled if we win the Soccer World Cup. I bet it wont be Eddiewood. Does anyone know the details as to how they are going to compensate MFC and others.Sorry should hae started another thread.
  10. I hope for Jack' sake that he does well or he will be feeling it in the media with the comparisons to Nic Nat. It is a big ask for a inexperienced player and I don't think the team need to be also trying to protect Jack other than winning the game. I would prefer to see him play the game after.
  11. RM tell us more re text messages - I missed that
  12. Yes and no. Just make sure that he knows every time he goes for a mark there will be a freight train behind him. Every time he goes for the ball he will be tackled by two or three men in red and blue and punished and when he is on that plane going home that every inch of his body aches. Every player should be paying him back but not Col because that is what is expected and what the ump's will be looking for. I'm not saying do something that could get reported . I'm saying let him know that the team doesn't respect him but we will support one of our own. Finally, of course show him on the scoreboard.
  13. Did you see Nat Jones twitter after the game. He wanted to play WC straight away. Can't wait. Also who was the player that cleaned up Col Sylvia preseason - I'd be very afraid. That freight train is coming.
  14. Loved his look of satisfaction after kicking the goal. There was no grandstanding just getting on with it.
  15. I thought Jamie really put his body on the line tonight and showed that being called a squib is just not part of his makeup. There were times I didn't think he was going to get up - a very classy game tonight.
  16. They also discussed whether it would be better to play him in AFL and make him want to apply himself in the other areas or leave him at Casey until he strings a couple of good games together. I think it was Gerard who said that he had played golf with some Melbourne people and he said that there skeletal issues - his weight mass not keeping up with his growth. There are obviously issues there that we are not privy to and I hate all the talk about Jack Watts in the media every time a Melburne official is interviewed. What pressure will he be under when he finally does play this year.
  17. But isn't this what we were all craving at the beginning of the year - just to be competitive. I think that at the moment we are even ahead of where we all thought they would be. Just look at the supporters after the game. We may have not won the game on the records but we all know that we really did win the game - it was stolen from us but who cares. If we play like that every week we are winners compared to last year.
  18. was listening to one of the radio stations on the way home and a caller confirmed that the club had complained to the AFL during the week re the clash between the ummpires and MFC. They were told more or less bad luck. It wouldn't have happened to Collingwood. Eddy wouldn't have allowed it. One day we too will have the same influence.
  19. I agree. That was his first game since last year and he played in a team that did not have very many good players on the day. I do however believe that Johnson should be given an opportunity to step up from VFL to AFL level. I still believe that Martin has more of a future than PJ but having said that there were those couple of games prior to him getting injured where he really showed something. It is difficult because we all know how long it takes some ruckmen to mature into their bodies so how long do we give these players. We were all willing to give up on Jamar and now look at him. Stef will be devastated with being dropped as he has worked really hard over the last four weeks to prove that he should be in the first 22.
  20. Also any Pakenham, Frankston, Cranbourne, Glen Waverley line train also go through Richmond and then just follow the throng. If you go to Flinders Street from Southern Cross then Richmond is the next stop or if you go through the loop Richmond is the first stop whn you come out of the loop. You cant miss it because the train goes straight past the MCG. If you are still unsure ask any Melbourne supporter because we are such nice people (most of us anyway).
  21. On Casey site it was noted that Bail is getting over a bad corky so doubt he is going to come up for next game.
  22. I think it says on the MFC site that there will not be facilities at Etihad to sign up new members that there will be next week. Nothing stopping anyone from using the internet or just ringing MCC and doing it over the phone.
  23. I've booked my trip away mid Sept thinking next year I would be watching the finals - I'll be spitting chips if................
