  1. Didn't we offload someone so we could pay him more? Possibly Powell?
  2. Did a great job of it too. Unfortunately for a Kinglake player he fell face first through it on every news broadcast in the state.
  3. Didn't hear it today but on Thursday they had an expert on i didn't catch his name but he said there is about 40 good prospects in this years draft and its not as shallow as its made out to be. He also said Majak Daw was still probably more of a rookie chance than a selection but wouldn't be surprised if he went late. Apart from that just spoke about the usual players up for top5. I was at work so didn't catch it all.
  4. I can't remmber how many games Brock was tagged in this year. Someone might watch the games closer than me and remember better ? I do remember Ling tagging him against Geelong though. Which to me means Thompson thinks he is our most dangerous midfielder. Hard bodies is what we are going to need the next couple of years with all our youngsters getting there chance, no way id trade out one of our hardest.
  5. This deal isn't too great for us, Jamar is an important player and Thorp has big question marks. Unless our doctors can have a good look at Thorp and give him the thumbs up i wouldn't consider this. Hawthorn's track record with trading Hay proves they can''t be trusted as well.
  6. Will we have the same problem if we go for Scully and Morabito?
  7. Is this correct? Rohan has x-factor, pace but questionable kicking but and some people like him for pick 2. Morabito has x-factor, pace but questionable kicking and most people don't want him for pick 2.
  8. I can not believe there is people saying we don't want or need him considering we wont have to give anything away to get him. He is still only 27 and only 16 months older than Davey. He is in the top 2 full backs in the league. Youth is well and good but we are not giving any of our young players away and competition for spots is an excellent motivator. Adelaide have many top line players years older than Lake and still develop youth and are still in the finals mix. If we had the choice between an AA forward an AA backman then sure go for the forward. But the choice of a probable AA backman an unproven over looked 18 year old. Some people still want the unproven 18 year old?
  9. If we don't have to give anything up to get him why wouldn't we take him.
  10. Cotchin was taken in 2007 so his original 2 year contract would be ending this year. Unless he has re-signed he could leave but it would be about 1 in a million chance that he would walk out and into the psd draft.
  11. 93 times this season. The most at our club according to the report card in yesterday's hearald-sun. Not tradeable i agree. Its not always who has the most draft picks wins.
  12. People around the club seem to think he has the talent. So i still hold slight hope for him. He must realize his contract has one more year and unless something changes he will not get another one. So hopefully for him the penny will drop and he will work his bum off from now until the season starts. He just might come back next year ripped, fit and confident and have a break out year. Otherwise he will have to get a real job like the rest of us poor saps.
  13. Honestly i would have no idea if Butcher is a we need a kpp so pick and hope or a genuine top 2 prospect. Luckily for everyone i dont get to decide who we take. For the last month ive wanted Trengove today Butcher maybe im coming down with something.
  14. I've changed direction some what today and am actually now leaning towards Butcher. However i really have no idea and will be happy with who ever we take. If there isn't much difference then needs is the way to go but if there is a big difference you really must go with best available. Geelong have taken a heap of mids and on one hand they have/had possibly too many midfielders as they traded moloney and had to offload Prismall. On the other hand Kelly and Enright would probably be midfielders for most teams but give the Cats great service out of the backline, as does Chapman in forward line. Its also easy to say Richmond got it wrong taking two mids however if a team had the first 5 picks in 2001 they would of got it right taking 5 mids with Hodge and Judd the first 2. While Polak was the first KPP taken. IT was really a midfielders draft in 2001 which also had Ball, Bartel, Dal Santo, Mitchell,Ablett and Swan. The only really A grade KPP was Lake at 71. You cannot just invent a KPP if it isn't there.
  15. Bloody hell. Thats almost a hooror story. Makes Kosi's early career look lucky.
  16. For what its worth, very little probably. Brayshaw and Lyon said it looks like the first 2 picks this year will be Scully and Trengove. Scully likened to Chris Judd and Trengove likened to Nathan Buckley. If the get anywere near the level of those 2 our midfield will be top class for the next 10 years.
  17. Kosi was taken at pick 2 after Roo with Saints having picks 1&2. Took a while for him to come good as well. Would people be happy If Butch taken as #2 had a career similar to Kosi's.? Personally i'd like something more with a #2 pick. However you get good years and not so good years in the draft and you can't choose when you get the top 2 picks.
  18. I'm not sold on him anymore in the first photo he has mud on knees. Perhaps he can't keep his feet as well as he should.
  19. SEN commentary team was all over it. Probably because Brayshaw was taking delight in the fact that Robbo and Lyon are tied on games but Robbo now has more goals. Which really goes to show how underrated Robbo is.
  20. We still have a long way to go to reach Carlton's lofty tanking standards. They won 4 out of their 1st 11 games and none of there last 11. Melbourne on the other hand won 1 of their 1st 11 and 3 of their last 11. We are playing the same game essentially but we are not in the their league.
  21. Brayshaw i think it was, was talking about how Butcher's suss kicking ability will seriously limit his overall output. They then went on about how you can only improve a players kicking roughly 10-15% (i think it was) once they reach 17 or 18. Changing someones kicking style is one of the hardest things to do in coaching of you believe those 4. Garry went on about his son already having a bad kicking style and how he refuses to listen to his old man to correct it. Doesn't look so good for a father son pick up there.
