  1. Top 25 possesion winners and effiency. Bruce you are a gem. 1. Dane Swan - 70% 2. Gary Ablett - 75% 3. Sam Mitchell - 75% 4. Joel Selwood - 76% 5. Matthew Boyd - 69.89% 6. Chris Judd - 69.72% (Worst) 7. Kane Cornes - 76% 8. Shane Tuck - 71% 9. Leigh Montagna - 72% 10. Cameron Bruce - 80% (2nd best) 11. Nick Dal Santo - 74% 12. Paul Chapman - 75% 13. Luke Power - 73% 14. Daniel Cross - 83% (best) 15. Bryce Gibbs - 75% 16. Brendon Goddard - 76% 17. Paul Hasleby - 73% 18. Brent Stanton - 74% 19. Scott Pendlebury - 78% 20. Jimmy Bartel - 75% 21. Rhyce Shaw - 79% 22. Marc Murphy - 75% 23. Brent Moloney - 75% 24. Joel Corey - 72% 25. Bernie Vince - 79% I know stats dont tell the whole story but clearly we would be a far worse team without Bruce. Gives his all for the club and any other club would of loved to have got 200 games of service out of him. Wrong topic but Moloney for Captain.
  2. Look at Sydneys record with him and then there record when ha was injured. Overrated? id say he was probably underrated. Would absolutely love him running around for us. Unless there is another Jurrah or Martin we have our eyes on would be a great use of our preseason draft pick.
  3. Brocks output today was very similar to Premiership captain Sam Mitchell's in the grand final last year. Wouldnt go sounding the alarm bells yet.
  4. After last week does anyone think its possible that Bailey might be trying Jones in a Cameron Ling type run with role. Albeit a far better looking version. Both are hard at it and it would be a huge plus in the future to have a run with negator that can win his own ball when needed.
  5. Jamar vs Mumford should be an interesting one. Hopefully Jamar can bully the young fella and continue to build his own confidence. Mumford is a big fella though. Do Geelong have a second ruckman in the team?
  6. a mate of mine just heard about this and is wondering if its too late to donate?
  7. If winning culture is such a big part of if How did Geelong lose on the weekend? I think it was because there team lacked a few stars on the weekend. 3 out of the current top 4 all have 2 pp's that they earnt by finishing near the bottom of the ladder. Most of them on the exact amount you can win before losing the pick. Throw in llast years premiers Hawthorn who also won 2 pp's and its obvious it wont give us an advantage it will just bring us level with our competitiors. We are not in the same league as Carlton. They were good enough to win 4 of there first 11 games in 2007 and then none of there last 11. We were good enough to win 1 of our first 11 which considering the early start to preseason training we had is not a good thing at all.
  8. Garry Lyon apparantly said on Footy Classified Melbourne are much better off winning 4. (i didnt watch it) I heard 'The OX' on Sen and he was adamant Melbourne must get the pp. 2 past players who played with Jimmy want it, i'm sure Jimmy does too. He sees the bigger picture.
  9. Excellent i love the way Jones goes 100% no matter what. Definately worth giving him a shot at full forward for the rest of the year.
  10. If you think the kid is worth it which it sounds like scully might be then you might still be prepared to take the risk and draft him. You then have to have faith in your club to look after him and that your club is somewhere worth being around 2 years is enough time to change someones mind. Wont always work though.
  11. I believe Rodan siad last week Port must treat this game like a grad final. Although looking at there last grand final i guess they did
  12. I think the 2 picks in the top 4 or 5 is more important than number 1. Look at the current ladder 3 out of the top 4 teams have 2 years of priority picks. The other, Geelong have had the benefit of father sons which resulted in that rule changing. Of course Freo have had there share of priority picks so it guarantees nothing. If we miss out we have seen 2 and 3/4 years of pain for limited upside.
  13. When do they announce the rising star nominations?
  14. Ill give you 15888 reasons why you do. But seriously can not fault the players at all. They tried there guts out and we should hope for nothing less. Forward line looked good today and Jetta who i wasn't conviced with before today really showed something. He didnt take advantage of his opportunities but he worked hard and made the opportunities for himself. I really hope the players go out and enjoy the win tonight. They should all go on a 3 day bender together and build the camaraderie around the club. The club asked for patience and im giving them all the time they need. Finishing 15th on the ladder will be the perfect result for me IF we get the pp.
  15. 2 more wins will not only see us lose the pp but we could end up with with pick 5 the way north wc and richmond are going. At least next year ill save money not buying a membership.
  16. If short term wins are all we are concerned about then we should seriously consider trading Watts for Pavlich and Blease for Kirk. Will help us win a couple of more games next year im not sure its a good long term strategy though.
  17. Essendons probably isnt all that accurate as they probably had more injuries last year making there top 10 in the best fairest an inaccurate indicator of there top 10 players. They are definately improving though. Sydney are always amazing with there lack of injurys must be something in the water up there.
  18. I think it would be awsome if we get pick 1 and 3 with either Richmond, Fremantle or even North winning the spoon.
  19. There is no way we should tank. The winning culture we developed by beating the bulldogs and carlton late in 2007 is sure to be a major driving force for us in the future.
  20. Hill Would be nice but we have no chance Clark would be very nice but we also have no chance Hall is an interesting one. Would easily be in our best 22 for probably 2 years. Has his issues but seems to be well liked by his teammates and is probably a good bloke off the field. I could definately see Watts and Morton and probably a few others walking a little taller with him around. If we could get him for nothing i'd certainly consider it. Rusling would be a definate for me. Has awesome pace which could make us very difficult to match up on combined with our other quick forwards. If he gets his body right could be an excellent player and if he doesn't he is still as useful as Newton and not much worse than Dunn.
  21. Port are a team of flat track bullies. They enjoy playing the bottom side and will win comfortably.
  22. and Brock will be faster next year
  23. I totally agree and would love us to win as many as possible next year. Finishing 9th would be an awesome result even. Im just not sure how many teams we can pass next year if any. So as much as i want us to win as many games as possible at the end of the day i still think we will get another high pick, so there is no need to panic and think we really need another key forward lets take Butcher even if he isn't as good as Trengove.
  24. This isnt our last draft ever. Sure next years is dfferent but if we finish bottom 2 which i think we will we will still end up with pick 4 or 6. Still could get a very good/elite key forward of midfielder next year. Go with best availabe and if we end up with 2 many mids like Geelong did we could trade one out for what we need. Like Moloney for Ottens.
