  1. Bizarre post Clearly didn't read Gawn's book
  2. Fritsch's attitude and performance for 2 years has been appalling. Had a good second half of 2025 but took way too long to get dropped. So many game he had zero impact at half time The Fritsch we saw in the second half of the year was a very good player and team mate. That's the intensity he needs to bring every week.
  3. Clearly something doesn't work for them. Sure they contend regularly which I guess would be nice but such regular failure would do my head in. And the fact the media lets them off almost everything is shameful. Tanner Bruhn being one example. Whats' he doing on the ground after the game after such a devastating 'finger' injury? One can only imagine how the sanctimonious media would react if it was the Demons
  4. One only has to look at the Brisbane side to see how role players are key to winning. Judd is a role player. He can be replaced We want something decent for him so Freo can pay up or we should walk him to West Coast. I hope our club grows some cojones with its trading - we have been way too pleasant to deal with in the past.
  5. Geelong have 1 flag from 9 prelims very interesting stat
  6. Yes its been lean on the trading front.... 2021 IN Dunstan 2022 IN Grundy Hunter Schache OUT Toby Bedford, Jayden Hunt, Luke Jackson, Sam Weideman 2023 IN Billings McAdam Fullarton OUT Jordan Harnes Grundy 2024 In Sharp, Campbell OUT Neale-Bullen
  7. Development is one thing but have a look at the teams that continually compete - Geelong, Collingwood, Hawthorn - they generally have over half of their players originating at other clubs. They trade for need. Its a gaping hole in melbourne's list management. We are terrible at getting experienced players to our club. I feel if we are to compete each year at the top level its this area we need to fix. There are some past successes with Langdon, Melksham, Hibberd, May and Lever but more recent times the cupboard has been largely bare.
  8. If ever there was a reason to take away the voting from the umpires its this game. [censored] what a howler. It's official. Umpires are blind and do not understand the game
  9. Melksham, Bowey, Salem....
  10. When did this change? It was always 'forceful' front on contact. Nowadays it seems that any contact front on is usually paid Clearly the rule is designed to stop players charging into a player in a vulnerable position yet like a lot of AFL rules the interpretation changes over time To wit: Contact below the knees - a joke of a rule now. players like ANB dive over a player on the ground to gain a free when it was brought in to stop players like Adam Goodes sliding front on Handball with a fist from a "stationary" hand - the Crow throw is now endemic Your foot can't be connected to the ball when it crosses the line - this has been consigned to the dustbin
  11. They get no scrutiny in Qld
  12. Might be to do with the Lions getting home to Brisbane tonight so as not to disadvantage them if they were to make a Granny
  13. Not only their smug fans, the players are faux tough and pushing and shoving oppo players, getting in their faces. Bck to the old unsociable hawks And while we're at it anyone keeping count of how many players Mabior Chol has maimed on the field? Its almost like he deliberately goes out of his way to hurt players....
  14. To me our players look completely frozen with ball in hand. They're slow, unsure of what to do it where to run. They ignore short kicks to bomb the ball long. Team mates don't run to space to open up the field. They look conflicted between team rules and instinct A more attacking coach will hopefully change this
  15. Geelongs composure with ball in hand shows how pathetic Melbourne has been. It's been first class. Hopefully king will free our players up to be more instinctive and play with flair
  16. For 140 years the deliberate OOB rule worked just fine.......
  17. Well you'd whine either way so it matters little. The stats don't lie in the previous 25 odd years Looks to most observers that we have made an astute decision Your carping about sticking with Simon being the only way to go will be lost in the mists of time. Those of us that could see the trajectory of our performances going over a cliff seem pretty happy.
  18. Maybe but Geelong seem like a mature club that will handle it OK. The benefit of having continuity in a finals campaign probably outweighs any 'additional' IP that he might gain.
  19. From an article: King’s appointment was “unanimously accepted” by the club’s board after a recommendation from the selection panel, which included former Essendon captain Jobe Watson and Melbourne Storm director of football Frank Ponissi The club and board have handled themselves very well through this despite much hand wringing on here. Kudos to them
  20. Hope the whiners about the club leaking will be happy. This was kept well quiet Good decision from the club. No 1 to exit Simon, no 2 to go with a very experienced assistant that is at a club that knows how to contend Should immediately gain the respect of the players and will bring some solid IP to the club, particularly if Geelong win the flag! Looks like a great decision
  21. Fritch 41% improvement Comedy gold
  22. Even recruiting membrey would have given us a solid marking target
  23. At least Collingwood have the chance to go out in straight sets
  24. Proud of our effort tonight but geez we have some dumb players 1g 5b in the last was never gonna win it Crying out for players with composure that can hit a target Steven May just go. Take your big mouth with you
  25. Where's petty? Put him at full back ffs may to ff
