  1. Yes, Dodoro is a great guy to deal with. Very fair and makes trading easy
  2. Kozzie got suspended for his bump on Smith. Maynard's was a lot worse - in action and result
  3. Next year will be his 18th season. He has kicked more than 60 goals 4 times. (only twice in the past 9 years) He would want $750k for a one year contract Pass from me, He's not the messiah
  4. You do understand that the way we play has a significant bearing on the ability to score goals? At the start of the year we were attacking heavily through the corridor. The club collects GPS data on every player. They know who is running hard. The rewards as a fwd can be tenuous. You can do 20 sprint leads and the ball is not kicked to you for example It is probably the hardest position on the ground to play consistently. Its why many don't succeed
  5. There aren't many fwds averaging 1.5 goals a game. Particularly small fwds
  6. Pick 19 compo for a guy with 2 x knee recos. Wowza
  7. Poor old Taylor Adams Who remembers 2017 when he said Lynden Dunn hadn't been part of a successful club? I guess Taylor has now been part of a "successful club". He just played no part in their ultimate success. Good luck at the Swans bozo
  8. Very interesting. Thanks. you might be on the money
  9. Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere but has anyone seen a full list of the B&F? ie not just the top 10?
  10. Err and he's dead... other than that..
  11. It's entirely possible the Club is letting this nonsense carry on as it might give Clayton a kick up the bum. 'no one is off limits for a trade' Not saying its true but its possible. Almost what we did this with Watts a few years back before actually trading him. He was told to lose weight, commit to training etc etc In the end they ran out of patience.
  12. never liked Flynn anyway 🤪🤣
  13. I have been thinking about Max. Clearly a generational ruckman. But he's 32 yo at the end of this year and our game plan is totally based around him. It's predictable and teams have double teamed him to counter his influence. His influence is likely to wane from here on in. We are out of the finals 2 years running partly because teams have worked out how to beat Melbourne by containing Max's influence. We need to think of Max now as a pinch hitter. He can't be carrying the team for much longer. And we need a new game plan that is less predictable and relies less on Max. ie we need a game plan that is not Max centric If we don't do it now we run the risk of him being injured - then we are really cooked - or still predictable and beaten when it matters.
  14. He apparently said it publicly at a function. But just look at the way we played. It's like there was Ebola in the centre corridor at times.
  15. Do we need a big fwd? For comparison, Collingwood's goal kickers vs Melb (Coll played two extra games) Collingwood Melbourne Brody M 47 Fritsch 38 Jamie E 39 Picket 38 Hill 33 JVR 28 Ash J 21 Tracc 28 Daniel McS 20 Chandler 24 N Daicos 19 Melk 20 Jordan DG 18 ANB 19 Beau McC 17 Petty 12 M Cox 17 J Smith 11 231 Goals to our top 9 kicking 217. And when Fritsch only played 17 games and Petty 14. Coll's top 3 played 24 games each There is a reasonable argument we don't need a big key fwd.
  16. It might be good news but Goodwin has to listen to what they say. It was reported here that Yze was heard at a function saying he wanted to attack through the corridor more and was held back by Goodwin.
  17. Interesting if true We did this a lot during pre-season. After about 6 or 7 rounds we went back to our old ways with Goodwin (presumably) not happy with how we can defend a turnover in the corridor. We became tired old melbourne, kick to the left, down the line, force a stoppage, kick a point. CHanges are needed. And its not just the Assistant by the sounds of things.
  18. Did his knee in late August. 11 months of rehab takes us to late July. Hmmm
  19. All the clubs would be trawling lists where players aren't getting opportunities. I certainly hope we are looking in unexpected places for talent.
  20. That may well be the official capacity but there spare seats around us, the MCC members was not full and there is standing room which is not regulated so much I believe. Maybe their maximum allowable under fire regulations or such is that number and so they can't announce any more than that,
  21. On another matter anyone wondering how we had an identical number of people at the 2023 Grand Final as we did at the 2022 Grand Final? 100,024 people. Smells very fishy to me
  22. I guess if he can play fwd that might solve some problems We did alright with Gawn and Jackson from memory .
  23. They won by 7 pts 1 pt and 4pts They had class at the end of the GF in SS and Pendlebury but loads of players who were ineffective or barely touched it all day. A few standout performances. Got to be a bit careful about drawing too many conclusions other than the fact they seem to be very good in tight games. By contrast our guys soiled the bed against Carlton when we could have and should have iced the clock. So much for leadership.
