Max and May after the siren
Who cares? Its a total distraction from the disgraceful umpiring. Why didn't Max get a 50m penalty ? Why did the ump call play on? We were totally rogered by the umps. All day. This is just a media beat up . Let it go and focus on the real issues

Harrison Petty
What do we do with Petty? His kicking is abysmal. 10m out and he nearly hit the post. 30m out and he misses a sitter. Zero confidence, his run up and connection with the ball are atrocious. His bad kicking is killing us (and he's not alone)

POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
I get the going back with the flight - partic Tracc Thats not what I was referring to. there were a couple of ground balls and the Pie player run straight through to collect the ball we shirked it. Maybe they are worried about the tribunal now as well? But there were balls to be won and we didn't win several. Still happy with our teams endeavour. They should have won but for a lack of calmness or composure -eg Fritsch, or Clarrie running in to goal.

Good news all! We won the expected score again 71 to 64! We would surely be top of the ladder for expected score by now

POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
Our players tried their hardest yesterday. They lacked polish and finishing skills going inside 50 but the game plan was sound - which I said pre-game I thought Goodwin had adapted to beat teams like the pies that run frenetically from the backline The umpiring was deplorable - why was Max called to play in in the last minute? Why weren't he Coll players hot with a 50m penalty for encroaching the mark? But on Langford I thought he looked very tired yesterday as well. Said to my mate that he shirked a few contests. Could have run straight line at the ball but didn't and instead tried to put one arm out and spin around the Coll opponent. I really like him as a player but he needs to get that out of his game IMO

Speaking of Burgess did I hear on the radio that the Crows have won all last quarters this year bar one? They're shaping up well

PREGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
Playing out of melbourne in the depths of winter maybe isn't such a bad thing

Goalkicking
If I am coaching against melbourne I am telling my team to push Melbourne wide (not that they need any encouragement) Every other team would know we are appalling from the pockets (and more often than not from in front!)

Goalkicking
Surprised also that no one kicks with the flat punt. Worked well for Peter Hudson

Goalkicking
Just on Gawn He's actually a pretty decent field kick Long and straight. It doesn't deviate like his kicks for goal. Even his short passes are generally really good. Isnt that interesting? He has a very straight leg when field kicking, doesn't spin the ball around like a top. And the ball does not turn sharp left. Surprised no one has compared these two kicking styles. It does my head in.

POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs St. Kilda
Loading schmoding Its all crappola We have 28+ opportunities to score goals. We got 7 of them. Let's not try to complicate or excuse the issue. Its a killer. Kills games, kills supporters, momentum. Its totally cooked. The same kicking problems from the same people are re-occuring. Its infuriating and will also cost us probably 20k supporters this weekend.

Goalkicking
TMac improved a lot as well as did Neitz from memory TMac in his best year had a really reliable low ball drop, straight leg, very little movement in the hands - the polar opposite of Gawn

Jake Lever
Has there been one example of a Melbourne player that has come back from a long injury layoff and rushed straight back into the team being successful? It's my view Lever has passed it but the footy dept is delusional if it keeps doing this.
