May is a big worry for mine. Not moving anywhere near what he needs to. There were a few instances where he misjudged the flight of the ball, came off his man at the wrong time, missed tackles he would normally gobble up and dropped marks he would normally take. He's not the player he was clearly Big watch for me. I said last week he should be rested and they chose TMac to rest instead - probably to see May and Lever play together for the first time this year but I can't see him playing on next year at this point

Typical AFL. They bring in a rule that ruckmen have to start 1m or so apart and they enforce it for about 5 weeks then its forgotten. Probably 20 or so rules like that

I counted at least 4 goals as a direct result of AJs work including the hand off to Sharp. BTW Sharp was the super sub of the week and perfrmed well when he came on....

Is there any other game in the word where an official or umpire requires a significant skill like in AFL? It's ridiculous when you think about it. And when they have to run 8-12 kms a game.....

tilthorp and Hogan are pretty rare players is what I'm saying. They are hard to find. We don't have one of those and have to rely on players who can bring the ball to ground if they don't mark it

I have been a strong Fritch critic - and he deserved it IMO - but he is getting better. But WTF has happened to his set shot kicking? His left foot has a massive left to right swing - he used to kick his leg much straighter. What does Choco actually do for hte club if he's not fixing this stuff. Same for petracca and Gawn. Its U12 stuff at the moment

You're kidding yourself if you think contested marks is a benchmark. Very few fwds take more than 1 or 2 a game for a shot on goal. Its great when it happens but its not that often

Yes very happy. It was our most comprehensive 4 qtr performance for some time. And particularly given the pressure of the Swans in the first half. People saying Swans were putrid but in that first half they were pouring on the pressure. Our structures behind the ball were generally outstanding. There is also a genuine understanding between our players now about where to run, spread, corral etc. Our fwd half tackles were impressive (20 tackles i50) which allowed Pickett to run riot. I also watched Spargo closey and his work off the ball is very good. Measuring his performance on goals alone is shallow analysis Our running between the arcs is at a very high level now with Lindsay, Langdon, Langford etc doing a great job. We are buildoing nicely and if we can beat St Kilda it sets us up for a great Kings Birthday clash.
