We were in a dire position in terms of leadership and have been since Jnr left, There was simply no choice hence his recruitment of senior players. Now it didn't work outthat way because of the players but we were completely stuffed in that department. This year we have many more options....

Was heading into work this morning and who should I see skateboarding along Swan ST in Richmond but our very own Co-Captain Nate Jones. Was headed towards AAMI park. Gave me the thumbs up when I shouted Go Jonesy! He looked so young even with all the cartoons..sometimes youforget how young these guys are and he could have been mistaken for any other young fella skateboarding down the street....

There was a tweet from "Melbourne Footy" (don't whether that is official or not) that says training is at "Gosch's Paddock" The club website also says Gosch's Paddock. You'd want to check before driving out there today....

No surprise. We had games where we had less than 3 i50s at half time from memory. Our i50s have been appalling for 4 yrs. Its all about the midfield. And ours has been shiite and they dont run two ways (hello Beemer) Good to see your banging on about a new set of stats C&B. You were banging for a long time about games played and that all would be right if we just got games into players (hello Cale Morton) The dogs keep barking but the caravan rolls on.....

Not unusual for a star junior to feel that way. A lot of them have no defensive skills, and cruise around because they have always done it that way. The big problem, and I have been banging on about it for years, is the lack of leadership at our club. Robbo, Yze, White, Bruce, Green, etc were not leaders and we had a void for a long time. Imagine what Jono Brown would have done to Gysberts when he said it was too hot to run a time trial. He would have snapped him in two. Or Morton when he refused to pick up his man. or broke a team rule like kicking to the centre of the ground instead of the boundary. Without leaders the juniors have no guidance. Neeld tried to bring them in but I have a lot more faith in Roos and who he has brought to the club. Morton at a proper club would never have played 74 games.

We have one player who averaged 20 disposals or more a game - Jones. We recruited two more in Vince and Cross. bloody smart move I reckon. Guys who can get the pill are in short supply at the Dees.

If true its a disgrace. Ive said it before but if I was injecting my staff with illegal substances Work Cover would throw me in jail. The fact the haven't as far as we know investigated is a shocking part of this shameful episode. The Directors should all be liable as would the case be in my workplace. Can't see why AFL is any different.
