Bernie goes whack
I am in the camp that says Oliver and Viney can't play in the same midfield And that Oliver should move fwd. Viney is doing OK and has a ferocious attack on the ball but Oliver we are getting nowhere near the value out of him that we should be. His disposal is rubbish and he puts other players under way too much pressure We need more composure in the middle. Trac has it now and maybe a Salem or brayshaw would be better in the short term.

The only thing hilarious about that would be the usual suspects telling everyone to: calm down It was an honorable loss Covid has affected us worse than everyone else We are re-building Goodwin is still the man to get our next flag But we've got such a dangerous midfield? We should have had Oscar Umpiring was bad We were unlucky The football Gods are against us etc etc

Hardly tearing it up. Once with more than 8 kicks. 3 games with 1 goal. meh... Did I mention he was 28yo?

Deep Dive into Dees Issues
I am wondering of the refusal to play Brayshaw in the middle has something to do with strength issues in his arm. Elbow tendon injuries like he had over summer are notorious for taking 12-18mnths to get your strength back,.

He must have pictures of Goody. I am a Melksham fan but this year he has been awful. Very selfish player and wouldn't chase to save his life.

TEAMS: Rd 10 vs Adelaide
Adelaide has made eight changes for Wednesday night’s clash with Melbourne, headlined by the return of stand-in captain Tom Doedee. Doedee has reclaimed his position in the Crows’ back six after successfully completing Tuesday’s main training session and will lead a young Crows side out onto Adelaide Oval to tackle the Demons. Five of the inclusions for Round 10 are aged 20 years or younger, with two more AFL debutants set to be unveiled in Harry Schoenberg and Lachlan Sholl. Schoenberg, 19, is a ball-winning midfielder who was taken with pick No.24 in last year’s AFL Draft. The inclusion of Schoenberg and Sholl brings the number of AFL debutants blooded by the Crows in Season 2020 to eight. Teenage swingman Fischer McAsey and tenacious forward Ned McHenry return to the senior side after brief rests on the sidelines, while Darcy Fogarty has been named to make a long-awaited return from a persistent shoulder injury. Fogarty will be joined up forward by the experienced Taylor Walker, who was a late withdrawal from Saturday’s loss to North Melbourne with gastro. Veteran David Mackay rounds out the inclusions. Kyle Hartigan, Shane McAdam, Andrew McPherson and Tyson Stengle will be managed on the back of a four-day break. Riley Knight, Bryce Gibbs, Rory Atkins and Kieran Strachan have all been omitted. Midfielder Brodie Smith has been named on a wing and is set to face a game day fitness test for a knee contusion suffered against North Melbourne. Smith was restricted to light duties during Tuesday’s training session with his right knee heavily strapped.

Makes sense to me for all of the obvious reasons but the selection committee each week seems to be chanelling Garry Lyon from on the Coach.

Deep Dive into Dees Issues
My take is the opposite of yours. A Coaching apprentice has the opportunity to learn the craft of coaching (or refine your own theories) without the day to day pressure of being a F/T coach, media performer, corporate schmoozer, selector, mentor or recruiter. Relationships are important but previous 1st time coaches have lamented about how much extra there is for a FT coach to do and how much easier it is for a line coach. Many have been swamped by the extra responsibility of being a FT coach and haven't coped well. Some have even said at theend of their tenure thatt they wish they could have just focused on the coaching aspect rather than all of the other 'stuff' that goes with being a FT coach. The work load of a FT coach would be horrendous.

https://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/353939/club-champion-fifth-jack-watts?videoId=353939&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1473317040001 Anyone thinking the decision to get rid of Watts was wrong only needs to look at the 2016 B&F when Watts came 5th. Have a look at his cringeworthy speech and Roos' intro that stated that "Jack decided to become a great player" Start of next season he was dropped from all of the pre-season games because he came back out of shape. He was gone at season's end. Watts is a wasted talent. The world is full of them. Football wasnt of great interest to Jack he'd rather go motorboating with buxom women.

Rising Stars vs the Dees
The difference might be that at other clubs they're not relying on new players to win games. They have a leadership core that do the grunt work, Our 'leadership' is very sketchy

The coach and the players have stunk it up for a year and a half. Nothing has changed. And we have a full list. Anything else is just a pathetic excuse.

Gawn In Doubt for Crows?
Port only had an extra day I believe. But this is part o fthe problem when the heat is not applied to the players. They are let off the hook. It was a dismal performance. Totally unacceptable. The same as last year when we gave the players an out because of our 'injury list' We let our players and coaches off so often for garbage performances. And the weird thing is that It seems the only time they really perform is when the blowtorch is applied. Yet here we are with a full list and Goodwin still can't coach. And Epstein didn't kill himself.

Rising Stars vs the Dees
We all knew this intuitively but interesting to see it in writing. Well done. Another embarrassing thing we lead in.

Ratings? Virtually every time we are on Prime Time we completely embarrass ourselves.

He had a dodgy ticker.

Gawn In Doubt for Crows?
We haven't won clearances in the last two weeks I believe so it could hardly be worse.

The Need for Outside Midfielders
You could throw Jesus H Christ into the middle and Goodwin still can't coach.

I think I've worked it out...?
And like the Adelaide camp that has festered for 3 years, the fact that our players went around their leadership and coaching staff to complain to the Players association about a camp says everything about this group. even goodwin was shocked and offered to resign. Yet he learned nothing. Imagine for a second if a player had gone around jonathan Brown to the PA because they didn't want to do a camp? Well thats what we had. Brown would have figuritively smashed them. Its not only a disgrace but emblematic of the poor and divided leadership we have at the club. And when the whips are cracking thats when you need leadership. Where is ours??
