Yeah I'm thrilled. Grow up. It's pathetic. Your club is disintegrating before your eyes.

Closer to the end
I hope the club reads this thread and realises what they are doing to several generations of supporters. I have been pilloried on this site by the pollyannas for holding Goodwin to account but it has been obvious for a long time that he is out of his depth. The players are deer in the headlight. No f*****ing idea what to do and scared of breaking 'team rules' or making a mistake. There is no instinctivess no running to provide options, continual brain fades of basic footy nous. There was effort today but the actions show a team that is devoid of ideas about what to do. Compare with a Brisbane that is playing with passion and a solid Clarkson inspired game plan. Roos gave us hope but he was really in for the short term cash. Goodwin was a desperate option that he fully supported in order to get out of dodge city as quick as possible. You have go back to John Northey for the last time we had an experienced coach. Why TF do we keep selecting first timers? Its clear we can't afford to have them learn in the job. The club is nearly destroyed. Well done chaps.

Sugar coat that one biatches VDB done Smith never to be seen again. Cost us at least 5 goals Lever - what a mistake Oliver - overated lair that can't kick or handball Brayshaw - turnover merchant who goes missing Viney - courageous but limited footballer who excels at hitting up opposition players TMac - Is it possible he is worse than his brother? Half way through the 3rd qtr there were 9 Melbourne players with 3 disposals or less. Hibberd best game in 2 years Trac hold your head up.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Richmond
I'll write Goodwin's press conference now: They surprised us with their intensity They didn't allow us to play our brand They are reigning premier, but we expected them to bounce back We had trouble connecting with our fwds Our mids got a lot of the ball but they were under pressure Smith is starting to string some games together The tigers ran the ball out of our defence really well Our fwds had trouble holding the ball in there We'll take some learnings from this game and you'll see a different side next week. We've got a few things to work on. I mean we spent 6mnths training how we want to play but we're far king useless and have run out of ideas He won't say the last one but he should

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
This appears to be the problem we have been having for a long time. Many here can see it. I don't know if its stubborness or stupidity but it aint good. It reminds me of the rubbish posted here a few years ago that game plans take 3 years to develop. Brisbane's didn't, Western Bulldogs didn't. Plenty others dont. Its a cop out. I really believe that Goodwin doesn't have flexibility and ignores the obvious. His comments on the weekend after the game made me want to throw up: 1. "we couldn't get the ball off them" Seriously. I just throw my hands up in the air, this has been going on for years. You plan for it. Like you should plan for 2 mins to go and 4 pts down. PICK UP THE OPPOSITION PLAYERS WHEN THEY HAVE THE BALL FFS. Its not that hard. Don't allow them to chip the ball around. And yes the leadership on the ground should pick that up but ultimately its a failure of coaching. But Goodwin seems fixated on playing zones which don't work. I think he's stupid actually. When you look at his behaviour with gambling, Stephen Dank and the drug issue and his inflexibility I can come to no other conclusion. 2. "next time a team tries to hold the ball against us we will be better prepared". Seriously, he should resign in shame over that comment. This is he difference between a Clarkson coached side and ours. I remember a few years back when we were 98pts down against the Hawks with 2mins to go and the hawks were flooding back trying to not let us score. I thought at the time he was just being narky and wanted to win by over 100pts but was later told by a Director of Hawthorn that they were practicing the defending with 2mins to go plan. That's what a good coach does.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Goodwin "We are continuing to work on ... his contests and defensive elements of the game that is required within his role. But he has missed a lot of footy, so our expectation is that he is not going to be perfect in that space but he does bring something unique to our team." I was pleased Harley got through his first game and he has talent but he also has zero defensive skills on that showing. He wandered around by himself and refused to pick up a player Good that he has been called out.
