I though 'standards' were set in 2015 and 2016 and 2017 and 2018 and 2019 and 2020...... This administration and coaching panel have failed to deliver again. It's not the list, we're going nowhere with them in charge.

2020 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow
Can play and could be a very useful player. I notice that he gets crunched a lot. Not sure if his peripheral vision is no good or whether he is just fearless but he won't last too long unless he learns how to protect himself.

TMac on the Trade Table?
May makes an excellent forward

Football Program Review
I was told that he was a big hitter that would be able to get the Yarra Park redevelopment through vs Mahoney that was not so experienced in the corporate world. Not sure if there is any validity to that but it fits.

Mahoney's Trade Plan
Do the same thing with the same people and get the same result. 2021 will be a long year.

These things are championed by the CEO. This was all down to Pert. I know. He sought and received board approval but it was his cause. I don't rate him at all and was shocked we: a) chased him and, b) went outside our guidelines/process to get him.

Pert also lost a massive amount of money after their last flag. They developed their own Side By Side brand and spent up big on Mechandise they couldn't sell. From memory it was a $2m+ loss in 2011-2012

Football Program Review
Melbourne has backed coach Simon Goodwin to take the club back to finals next season as it yesterday moved director of coaching Alan Richardson into a new performance role. Demons chief executive Gary Pert told the Herald Sun on Monday night his exhaustive review of the club involving countless interviews had made clear Goodwin was the man to lead the club forward. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/moneyball-all-the-latest-contract-and-trade-news-and-whispers/news-story/a1b8a3f43935a9358bdc645bef85d27c

2020 Player Reviews: #31 Bayley Fritsch
Should be written into his contract "Do not lead into the pockets" Learn to kick straight and he's our Gunston or Bruest

Isaac Smith
Isaac Smith is a hack anyway Had to be said

2020 Player Reviews: #38 Mitch Brown
I like Mitch Honest, old school footballer with smarts. Can take a grab, knows where to go, Can kick. There's a spot for him in our disfunctional fwd line.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
But Essendon St Kilda and Carlton are? What you say doesn't stack up to me. And loaded with money? We all have the same cap. Sure some clubs provide work to spouses etc buts pretty even you'd think.

Dees Reviewing Senior Footy Department Positions
Great we're doing a review. Shame we wont be reviewing the most critical coach in any meaningful way.

2020 Brownlow Medal
The umpires are the worst people to judge the Brownlow. When the award was minted it made sense but not any more.

Woewodin Opens Up
My recollection (somewhat hazy) is that Woewodin was on massive pay after his brownlow win and we were struggling with the cap. His form wasn't that great either....

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
I like the analysis. Its clear we haven't really had a tall option other than Weed but the small fwd goal number is significantly below AFL standard. A big worry. V important that Jackson comes on... I see Fritsch in the same mould as a Bruest or a Gunston. Physically and the way he plays. Gunstons kicking has been of a very high standard for many years. Fritsch needs to model himself on these two...

What happened to the "full review" we did half way through 2019 and when we shuffled the coaching deck chairs. Every role changed except Goodwins. There's only so long you can blame the assistants and the strategists and the medical staff and the fitness staff before you end up back with the guy who has failed when the finals were there for our taking in 2017 and 2020 and failed in 2019 when they blamed injuries. Goodwin even came out this year and said we "overachieved in 2018" We are the Kings of excuses. And revisionism. It makes me sick when I look at what Brisbane have been able to do in 2 short years. And even St Kilda in 1 year.

Yze is a Demon Again
Luck does play a part but Goodwin's success was 1997-98 Yze's association is much more relevant and recent. The number of Clarkson apprentices that have gone on to do good things is first rate. Goodwin sadly needs a lot of babysitting and our coaching assistants to date have had a notable lack of success. So its a good move but IMO the sooner he goes the better for the MFC
