  1. i heard Chuck Norris once tried to stop Liam Jurrah in a dark alleyway, was left with 2 broken legs, 2 broken arms, a broken jaw. He was later heard as saying I just got hit by a JURRAHCANE

  4. Really would love to help out - seeing that I'm back living in melbs. However will be away that weekend - bucks weekend for a good mate. Count me in for the next one. I'm a 35 year old broken down ex hack footballer - 2 seasons into retirement. Would love to pull the boots back on, or alternatively just help out 'professionally' i'm a sports physio by trade. Let me know when the next one happens

  6. Seriously hard leaving out some dead set guns. Some guys just pick themselves. Leaving out W Carey was tough, but as others have said his best work was in the 90's - would captain the team of the 90's Others we forget quickly that they changed the way the game is played. Because J White was so dominant they put in the second circle, changeing ruck work forever. Cousins' 3rd 4th 5th 6th (etc) efforts meant that we have to have ridiculous rotations to keep up with them. Backs: Fletcher Scarlett C.Johnson Half: Backs Hodge Archer Mcleod Centres: Cousins Voss Black Half forwards: Hird Brown S.Johnson Forwards: Akermanis Lloyd B.Johnson Rucks: White Buckley Ablett Bench: West Ricciuto Riewoldt Judd capt Voss Coach Matthews
  7. Jamar to dominate the ruck over Sandilands, kicking 4 goals along the way and shore up AA selction
  8. on now 2nd quarter just started - if you're still up after watching the socceroos turn on channel 72. Can't wait for the comeback
  9. Theo X didn't blow his money on Pokie machines. He tried turn his passion of backing horses into a profession. Sadly he got it wrong blowing $200k on derby day one year - very hard to blow $200k in a day on poker machines. They are perfectly legal and have their place. If i was to turn my life to garbage by being a heroin addict, pokie addict, alcohol addict i would have no-one else to blame but myself. Just because you ruin your life doesn't mean the pokies are to blame... there are many pitfalls one must avoid, do we ban drinking? smoking is still legal, car accidents kill people so do we ban cars? Gambling like anything else is fine in moderation. Live by the motto of only gamble what you can afford to lose and you'll be fine. Those with addictive personalities will always find something to get addicted to. Seriously do we have to continue to legislate against peoples own stupidity? If that revenue stream isn't going into our coffers..... the pokies will still be there and they will be lining someone elses pockets... probably Mathieson's and probably carlton's. No problems whatsoever with MFC having Poker machines And yes, i do have first hand experience - I've witnessed my own brother drop his entire paycheck into a poker machine (several, several times) powerless to stop him doing it. That was his problem not the poker machines - if he didn't do it there it would have been at the casino, on the horses, he'd put a gorilla on two flies climbing the wall if someone would take the bet
  10. Beamer's been taking the first year guys down there the last 3 years for some boxing training with his old boxing coach as a welcome to the club, get to know your new team mates, and 'HARDEN THE F*** UP' mid season camp during the week off. Did it of his on bat the first year, by the looks of things a few of the older guys were keen to get amongst it this year - which absolutely fantastic to see. Will hold the kids in good stead for the second half of the year. Absolutely no idea why no sculls though edit: spelling!
  11. scully = diesel williams' hands & cousins gut running rolled into one trengove = buckley..... Nah he's not tough enough. Will be closer to voss gysberts = hird tapscott = chapman J viney = t viney blease = flower mckenzie = ling could keep going.... what a wonderful future we will have. I always wondered what an engine room with all those guys put together would look like...... We will soon know for sure
  12. you might be right there redleg, but I was under the impression that if you contest the charge you lose out on the bonus of accepting the lighter penalty for an early plea. you risk the full penalty (which was 2 weeks to be downgraded to 1 with a 25% reduction for 'good behaviour' and an early plea), if the tribunal rules against you. The tribunal may rule in your favour and downgrade the penalty and/or charge if we win. That may mean no suspension or 1 week. but it won't go up from the potential 2. confused?????? me too!
  13. He has 2 alternatives now he gets off and plays in front if his family and western victorian mates at his old home ground OR cops the 2 because we lose and has his 100th in front of 70K+ at the 'G on Queens birthday both scenario's wouldn't be all that bad for the Beamer
  14. jessica alba all the way for me. Seriously hot..... She is number 1 on my list of allowable alternatives to my wife :-) (thank you Ross from 'friends' forr coming up with the list concept!) oh and JT goes ok too. Will win many a game off his own boot as he did in last years SANFL prelim last year. Serious man crush there maybe Jessica could be convinced for a menage a trois...........
  15. i love may 15 for various reasons - most importantly its my birthday.... 35 today :-) but also i have 5 friends dotted around the country who also share my birthday. Now i can add Tom Scully to my birthday crew..... What a present too - J Watts to come in and kick a few and hopefully a big win against the eagles
  16. If the lad is ready then play him if he's not then don't simple as that. Comparisons will happen regardless - if, and that is a big if, he's ready for a recall it could be a great bit of motivation for him to silence his critics and maybe some of the media who think the sun shines out of NN's backside. Don't not play him because the observations may be negative - they may well be positive observations. We can't keep on keeping him in cotton wool because of what may or may not be said. If the FD reckon it will help our side win by playing him then he plays regardless of media, if he they reckon he needs more time for whatever reason then he needs more time.
  17. A few real positives tonight - T. Scully, J. Trengove, J. Grimes, J. mckenzie, C. Bartram all outstanding tonight Not to be outdone though - had a chat with big Max at half time - reckons he's on track to start playing in 4 weeks. Hope for our sake this is correct. Can't wait to see the GIANT in action :-)
  18. Our first time at bat on the big stage for 2 years = PERFECT time to do this. Big crowd, big TV audience. Fantastic way to drum up support for avery worthy cause. Our own president is going through a tough time due the big C and yet you want our club especially to not give a rats about cancer awareness and donating to proceeds to hopefully finding a cure to one of the biggest blights on western culture. Balls you are a disgrace. This is a fantastic opportunity for our club to grow as a result of wearing PINK. you should be ashamed of your small mindedness about our F'ing jumper. We change our jumper many times through the year for supposed 'clashes' at least this a good reason
  19. I'd like to see young Jack get a call up AND Col Garland in the forward line. Although Jack isn't setting the world on fire, he should be fit enough to run, run, run as the current game plan sets out - play him as a high half forward/wing a la Cale Morton. I seem to recall Garland was drafted as a key forward after kicking loads of goals in Tassie. He couldn't be worse than any other options being floated around (Miller/Newton/Hughes/Pj....)
  20. Ablett looks to be cooling, selwood has said no if you believe media reports, will anyone go who is a deadset gun??? A border line senior player who is in a leadership group may well be the best that would WANT to go and play for GC. It may be the bears all over again - washed up or out of favour players only
  21. Spence is from Townsville - only went to brissy for a year to further his footy. Being in Melbourne is no different to the gold coast they're both a long way from home. I don't see it happenig i think Millsy will go - the writing is on the wall a la brock last year. He would know deep down that once the kids are up and firing there won't be much room for him in a forward line consisting of Watts, Jurrah, Bate, Sylvia, Petterd, Tapscott, Wonna, Green and add anyone elsefrom Jetta, Davey, Bennell, Maric, Fitzpatrick, Trenners etc rotating through. If i was Miller I'd take the money and run
  22. Watching the tv 1 hr delayed telecast.... Petterd just left the ground. He initially hurt it against brisbane last week. Landed on an outstretched arm. Hyperflexion injury - more than likely an ac joint last week. Definitely an anterior dislocation as he walked off this week. Whether it needs surgery or not is dependent on what is actually damaged - joint capsule/ligaments/boney avulsions etcetera. They'll get it back in, might need some anaesthetic to do it if they struggle as reported. Then its a matter of settling any pain and swelling. Have an MRI over the few days to assess how much damage there is and decide on treatment options then - surgical or conservative rehab and get it strong. Conservative management if appropriate will get him back sooner. Probably up to 12 weeks if it needs surgery. I'm private physio if you're wondering about my quals. Been doing this for 15 years
  23. level 2 members wing or on southern stand your choice. wedged between presidents club and redlegs (i think) on the 50m arc punt rd end. fantastic seats! drinks in Betty Cuthbert Room/Bar behind glass on members side. Lindsay Hasset room on southern stand (also does the aftergame with a couple of players on hand). Your choice of sides and once your seat is allocated it's yours for every home game. hope this helps ps. you'll find theres a few demonlanders in there if you strike up a chat, i know i've met few up there over the past few games
  24. prelim finals help..... actually just FINALS help edit: my spelling is really carp after a bottle of red
  25. i'm not so sure, i'll probably get shot down with howls from the pro-Martin camp on here at demonland, and please don't take this a player bash, but i personally think he still looks like a basketballer trying to play football. Not quite in the right places at the right time - reactive rather than proactive. He doesn't seem a natural footballer and that to me is not something that can get taught, i see more value in footballers who can read the play and be where the ball is going to be. I've loved that part of Bail's arsenal in the first 4 games. If i was coaching i would have put him straight back in and unfortunately i think Martin would be the one to make way.... and yes he'd be very stiff to miss. Thats just my thoughts thats all. We'll beat the 'roos regardless (fingers crossed, toes crossed....)
