Just been wondering.... The curse of Norm Smith - anyone else get the feeling it may have been lifted thanks our old arch enemies treating Mick Malthouse in a similar way to Norm being given his marching orders after 64. They have now lost Neeld to us may lose Watters to St Kilda, leaving Bucks without much current help. He reminds me of Brad Miller. Good size will provide a contest. Different to Brad in that he's comfortable deep in the forward line but reminds me of him nonetheless. Your probably right, could be construed as defamatory. However sharing of medical information 'in-house' between medical practitioners working under the one roof is not only common practice it is quite often a necessity to get another set of eyes onto a scan or a result, or test a ligament etc. However more importantly there is a most destinctive conflict of interests here with the doc who by the very least would have complete access to any information on said player he is writing a newspaper article about - I think there are more pertinent issues than me suggesting he knows what's going on.

Given that Doc Larkins shares his office with none other than Dr. Andrew Daff, our head doc, as well as the Bulldogs and Essendon doctors, you would assume he has some pretty good mail on it. Hell he more than likely would have seen the scans and been in on the actual diagnosing of Toms knee injury! If he thinks it won't hold up, it more than likely won't hold up and we have dodged a massive bullet on this. Good luck to the boy.

All this carp about captaincy being a burden is just that absolute carp! A natural guts and determination leader just leads and the rest follow - there is no burden whatsoever if anything it just gives a bit more steely determination. JT already had this by the bucketfull, it will fit like a glove. Give him Beamer, Frawley, Sylvia and the Russian as seargents to help out and the rest will follow. The kid will be better for it, the supporters will love a 10 year captain, number 9 jumpers will once again sell out - the will be balance in the force!

Just an aside, please feel free to abuse me for this, but many people on this board get upset, nay, very upset when Trengove is spelt with an r, or Robbo was called Robinson not Robertson. Yet we have multiple posts about some bloke called Kennet, he has two T's, Kennett. The bloke may be a complete @$&$wit, however he did do some good things while being premier of Victoria, and maybe should have the courtesy of having his name spelt correctly like we demand for our players. I just feel that it goes both ways. /end rant. Had a bit to do with Caulfield Grammar this year, young Seb Gotch is going to be an absolute gun whichever way he chooses (footy or cricket). Pity he can't do a Simon O'Donnell and continue with both. Had a couple of real lookers at Caulfield this year - Gotch, Tom Bugg (off to GWS next year - will be watching his progress closely - dead set GUN, really should be looking at snaffling him from GWS in a year or 2 when his contract is up) and Jordy Kelly playing for Vic country at CHB all look the goods. as for 'unusual' - what rhaz said above

said before will say it again. Our new emblem is just that an emblem. It is not a small little logo that goes next to the name melbourne on the tv scoreboard. it should be used on 'big' things - walls, banners, backgrounds, leave it on the jumper. The little red 'v' on top of blue symbol that we all have as stickers on our cars is our long term 'logo' there is a massive difference. Both are still required.

My favorite memory of jako was seeing the number plate Jako13 on my hammer on the south eastern. I was driving my first car an old 1976 model Corolla.... Basically a shitbox. He zoomed by! Obviously floored it to catch up - hit 135 without even getting close to him - jako must have been pushing the 150 mark... Probably late for training! When I redlined the corolla, over heated and had to wait for the engine to cool down enough to work again! Yes I buggered my first car but I found out how much of a hoon jako was!
