GOODBYE MR. CHIP FRAWLEY
Demon Disciple replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
He thinks you were referring to Talia when you were talking about the player taken at pick #1 in the rookie draft. No doubt you know that, but no-one on this board ever wants to concede defeat....................ergo, this pi$$ing contest is still going on. Which i'm finding very entertaining, to the point where i want to interject!!! -
GOODBYE MR. CHIP FRAWLEY
Demon Disciple replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
You 2 still going at each other????? FWIW the way i read olisik's post about 'player x' being taken in the rookie draft, he was referring to Frost (well that's the way i interpreted his post). As for Daniel Talia, he was drafted at pick #13 in the 2009 draft, 2 spots after we drafted Lucas Cook at #11. -
GOODBYE MITCH CLARK
Demon Disciple replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes, Roosy is clearly unhappy and clearly has MFC's best interests at heart. It's because of this, whatever the outcome, i'm going to be fine with it, due to Roosy and PJ running the show. We might be sh!t on the field, but our coach and CEO are about as competent as you can get. -
If those are possible options, why not go 1 step further? Offer GWS pick 2 (Petracca) + Blease....................MFC get Shiel + Frost Offer Adelaide Pick 3 + Toumpas............................MFC get Dangerfield (and maybe Lyons)

For Talia, sure, but not for Frost (2nd rounder at most - maybe Clark trade pick?) -
GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

That makes sense????? A bloke that had multiple soft tissue injuries, goes to a club that couldn't find answers to why multiple players weren't recovering from their soft-tissue injuries this year. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HERITIER LUMUMBA
Demon Disciple replied to Moonshadow's topic in Melbourne Demons
No bloody way. I know Watts has never lived up to the hype, but he is worth more than HL. Lumumba wants out and the Pies want him gone, a 3rd rounder should suffice, but the filth play like Essendon when it comes to trade time (massively overvalue their players' and undervalue the others). Watts on the open market would be worth an early second rounder. -
Walker becomes a FA next year, but not sure if it is as RFA or UFA
-
If there is any truth to us going after Walker, even if we fail, it means Mitch Clark won't be playing with us (if he does make a comeback).
-
At least during the early stages of his career (he has still only played 26 games). KM over on BF made a good point (even though most players' he cites as successes are a different generation of ruckman), in that the one's who went on to have good careers started theirs predominantly as a forward, allowing them to slowly be introduced to the ruck role whilst also adjusting to the physicality and rigours of AFL for a big man. This also allows for the big guys time to develop their bodies properly and not rush their size development. Guys who have been thrust into the thick of it early like a Naitanui, Luenberger, Kreuzer, Cordy, Grundy and Goldstein have developed ongoing injury issues early into their careers.

Stop being such a party pooper, DD

I was flabbergasted when i read that the Lions were possibly thinking of parting with a 2nd round pick for Ryder. To hell with that, if they can get Ryder for nothing as a De-listed FA as allowed after the Essendon saga, then screw the Bummers, about time they receive what they dish out. I'd go hell for leather at Carlisle and wouldn't think twice about screwing the Scum over. No matter the future trading implications.

Not according to the Kangas website http://www.nmfc.com.au/player-profile/brent-harvey
-
Haha, nah. Just geeing up all the folks around here who think we've been robbed yet again, this time AA non-selection (seriously wgaf). Second sentence was more on topic though!
-
For anyone thinking that Caleb Daniel at 168cm is too small, it's the same height as Brent Harvey (he's done pretty well). Not saying he'll turn out like Harvey, but if you're good enough you're tall enough. Goes harder at the ball than Jack Watts anyway. Height is not the be all end all, nor is talent (as Watts with all his height and ability can demonstrate).
-
Cannot believe Nathan Jones wasn't even nominated, let alone being announced the winner! Should highlight how height (or lack thereof) should count for squat come draft time.
-
wouldn't mind trying to get both these boys into the club. Harrison Wigg North Adelaide 14.10.1996 Height: 179cm Weight: 74kg Small defender who is an elite left foot kick which helps set up his team on the rebound and from kick-ins. Reads the play exceptionally well, averaging 18.8 disposals at 79.3 per cent effectiveness during the NAB AFL U18 Championships and winning South Australia's MVP. To cap off an outstanding championships he was also named in the All Australian U18 team in defence. Caleb Daniel South Adelaide 7.7.1996 Height: 167cm Weight: 68kg Small forward who is a prolific ball winner, makes great decisions and executes well by hand or foot. Shows the ability to bring others into the game. Had an outstanding last three games of the U18 Championships, averaging 20 disposals at 92 per cent efficiency and two goals per game on his way to winning All Australian honours.

An older version of Chip, would allow for the development of some young KPD's for a few years to naturally develop rather than be rushed and straight into the senior team. Rate him as a better forward, but not as good a backmen as Frawley, but our backs did pretty well this year. Would be interested if he doesn't cost too much. Would no doubt have to apologise to Pedo before the trade could be accepted on our part.
-
No way in hell Stringer would be on the move, after suffering a potentially career-ending injury before even being drafted, the year he has had just shows how much more upside there is to him.
-
Source? (no names, but inside the club?)
-
Not too sure, but in his spare time he has whipped up a couple of movies, namely 'the lord of the rings' and 'the hobbit' trilogies.
-
Damn, I guess that's 2015 down the drain On a serious note, the MRP is an absolute farce.
-
Ahh yes. It's always the umpires fault. In this ever changing world, at least demonland stays the same!

GOODBYE MR. CHIP FRAWLEY
Demon Disciple replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
i think it's more the club trying to portray that it really wants him to stay, thus improving our chances of maximum compensation.
