  1. Even if we had the favourite, i'd rather watch paint dry than the medal count #boring
  2. It's an interesting point you raise Dannyz. Who is the most important person running the show? A president or a CEO? Usually i'd say a President, but imo PJ is clearly the most important figure off-field for this club. I am very happy with both, the way things are running at the moment. A stable board, CEO & coach all seeing things eye to eye is something we have not had for a very long time.
  3. He is not an AFL footballer, or rather, he shouldn't be. The only reason he is is because besides Gawn, we have no other viable options as cover atm. We seriously need another decent ruck brought on to the list, or time to develop one. That's Spencer's only saving grace. But whilst still on the list, i will continue to support him.
  4. Nope, it's just that if he felt any other way, Jack would belt the cr@p out of him
  5. i thought he was rather slow, even before his knee troubles.
  6. If it's a pick + a decent player, then i'd rather we steer clear. Prestia has injury history and is nowhere near his output from 2 years ago. All those wanting him for what he could become again, are being subjective. He would be a risky trade prospect, far too risky when a first rounder + player are what we'd have to give up.
  7. Rules of the game committee too. How do you expect umpires to enforce so many rules, most directly conflict with one-another and there is very little synergy. Then at the end of every year, they need to learn even more rules changes. Like Wood yesterday noticing the countdown clock. It was very smart on his part, yet it probably be punished. Imagine punishing intelligence, when the real problem/s continually get ignored. Typical imbecilic approach from the head honchos @ AFL house.
  8. Tom McDonald's problem is that he simply hasn't improved his decision making and disposal since he first entered the club. Now the former can generally be improved, but the latter whilst there are elements which can be tinkered with, if you don't have natural ability, you simply won't become a good AFL footy player. Disposal is a fundamental part of the game and if you are generally poor, then you will only be an average player. McDonald is not alone on this, as there are still several players' on our list with "questionable" disposal. The only thing saving him is his attitude, which you cannot fault him on as he gives 100%. Hogan is a type where you would just about give him what he wants, McDonald is not. Ultimately i would love to get Hurley in to take the responsibility of FB. McDonald is a great overhead mark and would do very well as a 2nd/3rd tall defender coming over the top and taking pack marks (similar to Rivers').
  9. Team leading 9 tackles yesterday, so is doing the 1%'s as much as anything else, which no doubt would be pleasing the coaching group. Deserves his place in the team for quite a few round yet
  10. In a weird way, i hope it does. That way it again reinforces to the playing group that being down in intent (even if only for one game), can be very costly. You need hunger and to give 100% effort for as long as you can. No half-arsed efforts, no complacency, no arrogance, just 100% effort.
  11. Maybe a little too hasty in closing the 'we're in the 8' thread. If Dogs keep this up, we will leap the Crows on % and be in the 8!
  12. 16.7 to 5.1 in the second half. We should've run away with it given they were 2 down before half time, but good to see we were merciless
  13. there probably goes our chance of making into the 8 tonight. We needed 2 more, without them kicking another. [censored] Ablett
  14. "Despite being dominated from stoppages, Gold Coast have launched five goals to two from their defensive 50. They have launched 40 per cent of their scores from this source, well above their average of 16.2 per cent." Still shows that we are still rather poor as a team defensively.
  15. Yeah he's not on tonight. I'll spare it though, he's had a good year so far.
  16. Would be just about right. One is as lazy as they come, the other doesn't have a clue.
