  1. Jeez, things must have been dire. I felt really flat too and couldn't bring myself to face Demonland at all. Whether you let that affect the rest of your life is a choice, though.
  2. Let the club worry about that. If they were knowingly jeopardising their recovery etc, I doubt they'd have been so pic happy anyway.
  3. It's actually a bit embarrassing and shows the posters' great lack of awareness of their own weaknesses. They might as well be saying "I don't have the emotional control to function after a loss, so the players shouldn't either."
  4. I didn't see the game, but just watched the footage of the standing ovation the Adelaide team got from the Perth crowd while walking off in tears, and it was the most powerful thing I've seen in footy for ages. It made the hair on my arms stand up.
  5. I could really go a parma today. Mood food.
  6. Tough crowd. First bad game of his career. He's a competitive lad, don't reckon anyone will be more filthy than himself. Nothing to see here.
  7. 7.18. Honestly. This club, somehow, finds new ways to disappoint me. Tom Mac in the last quarter though...
  8. Ah, right. Wasn't aware of that - was lead to believe when I bought mine that there was no credit on it - I may have had my ears closed at the time though.
  9. That's pretty poor on their behalf. How are they supposed to raise revenue by charging you $6 for a card that costs ~20c if they don't make them easy to buy?
  10. I'm at work, listening on MMM as it's all I have access to. Would normally pick ABC but the crap radio here a very coarse AM band and the internet connection is too unreliable to stream. Hate hate hate not being able to see what's going on, but at least the radio is better than nothing.
  11. Geez I'm starting to get nervous now. Can't sit still. Reckon if I'd been an AFL player I'd be that guy who has a quiet spew on boundary during the warmup. There's still an hour to go damnit!
  12. JKH the sub, so Harmes and VDB to start. Happy with that.
  13. Last week I thought Richmond were smashed by the umpiring all game and got the inevitable square-up in the last term. They won because GWS were even more putrid than they were. It was a shocking game, and this one's not much better. The Tiges are lucky they haven't come up against strong opponents in the last two weeks.
  14. I didn't know Garlett played such a high pressure brand of footy; I always had him pegged as a downhill skier. He creates opportunities through hard work and really classy skills - reminds me a lot of the early days of Aaron Davey. I was happy with the trade at the time, but it's still exceeded my expectations in terms of output. He's been excellent and I hope it continues.
  15. I wouldn't have dropped the Toump and kept him instead of JKH. I saw last week as a setback when he had been building on form and was hoping he'd get some benefit of the doubt. I can live with it though. The rest are logical and expected changes. Best of luck to Harmes.
  16. Others have said he struggled with weight and mindset as a young player. I believe that has to be true because I can't see how else such a big, aggressive ball accumulator would stay completely under the radar for so long. When I first saw him in that NAB game, my first reaction was "what the... Who is that?". Stood out like the proverbial dog's balls. Interesting that he credited Robert Shirley with his turnaround. Shirley was a modestly talented player who got the absolute best from himself. Since arriving he said he's followed the lead of Daniel Cross - more of the same. He obviously recognises the need for continued professionalism that he's probably not naturally inclined to, so he surrounds himself with the right role models. An amazing pick by Taylor and co. Another couple of these each year, thanks :-)
  17. There has been instances where rookies have been promoted but not selected - James Magner under Neil Craig rings a bell. It usually is the case though, otherwise there's not much point in promoting him unless there's an administrative reason to do so that I'm not aware of.
  18. Really pleased for him. It seems from all reports that he's gone up a gear in the last month or two, so it's a great reward. Hopefully he gets picked now. Can't imagine what it would be like to pull on a MFC jumper as a life long fan.
  19. When your probably of making finals rounds down to 0%, it's fair to assume you probably won't make it.
  20. Agreed. Spencer, Jones and Bail for Grimes, Lumumba and vandenBerg for mine.Alternative if the powers that be seem that Grimes and vandenBerg need a run in the VFL first: Spencer and Bail for Lumumba and Harmes. Mix and match for any combinations of the above. I have no interest in seeing Stretch or ANB in the VFL. As the season goes on and they tire I'd look at it, but at present they are incrementally improving and getting plenty out of playing in the seniors.
  21. The only point of difference is Frost - listed as 5 weeks on the MFC website, complete with quotes from Misson http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2015-07-07/trio-set-for-return (I've re-ordered the list) Melbourne injury list: round 15 Angus Brayshaw (neck) – test Jack Grimes (thumb) – test Aaron vandenBerg (hamstring) – test Heritier Lumumba (toe) – test Dean Kent (hamstring) – 2 weeks Christian Salem (hamstring) – 3 weeks Sam Frost (toe) – 5 weeks Jack Trengove (foot) – season Cameron Pedersen (wrist) – season Christian Petracca (knee) – season The list is starting to look a lot better. Hopefully we get a bit more of a look at Kent and Salem before the year is through.
