The wheels falling off on the field definitely throws a spanner in the works. Essendon have the perfect opportunity to throw Hird under a bus in a big way here. No doubt they won't take it, though.

I haven't looked in your thread T_U, but how have our opposition gone after playing in Darwin? If they're consistently losing as well there might be something in it. I'm going to stick with Occam's Razor. We have probably historically lost after playing in Darwin because we were a crapola footy side who did a really great job at losing no matter where or who we played in the previous round.

It's probably just that he's only 22 and hasn't yet perfected the recipe for peak performance for 22 games a year.

Yep, that kick to NicNat in the middle of the ground... Could see it happening as soon as he turned inboard. He hasn't learned his limitations yet. Hopefully over time he stops trying to do kicks that are too difficult for him.

If last night's game is anything to go by, West Coast's delivery in to the forward line is second to none. Low, fast rockets all the time, impossible to defend I think. If I watched the game as a neutral and not a frustrated MFC supporter I'd have been very impressed.

They're both best 22 at the moment. As long as 44 and 45 are still in the team, these two are certainties. It might get interesting as Kent, Salem, vandenBerg and JKH start working their way back in, but until then they're safe.

If nothing else, this week has reminded me that life's too short to waste getting upset about footy. Can't be bothered kicking the cat tonight, going to go tell my family I love them instead as the boys pay their respects. Night all.

I don't think I've seen one MFC kick to Dawes or Hogan all season that matches half a dozen or so I've seen to Darling or Kennedy tonight alone. They're most certainly a class above.

Can't say we're out of it, but we've also never looked like we're in it either. Weird game. Perhaps this is what it looks like when it busts a gut against a team it is a class below. Genuinely surprised to see the comments claiming that Richmond were gifted the game by the umps. I watched the whole game and thought in general, the umps slaughtered them. It was a horrible game though. Both teams absolutely awful. Kind of befitting with the standard of the umpiring really.

I'm amazed anyone's got the energy to give a rat's arse about Essendung today to be honest. It's a battle most of the time as it is.

I know. Darn my penchant for spelling names correctly! I just find it disrespectful. This one seems to have irritated me more for some reason. I should know better; people have been getting players names wrong since the beginning. Getting the message: time to let it go.

It's a Wednesday squad. Since squads aren't even released officially until Thursday evening, presumably it's just one someone completely made up. Someone who doesn't watch a heap of MFC, I'd say.
