Wells 11 makes great points on Jackons The real question is do us supporters have the guts to stick with this club while real changes are made for the better??? It's going to be tough but this club needs some hard love - For mine Jackson is the Neeld of the administration, changes are gong to be made and people aren't gong to be happy. Do We have the guts for it?
-
He's a good player, but he's no world beater Would he help us in 2013 - yes. Did he want to? Who knows?? Moloney is now a Lion - who cares what he does (not attacking you P Man - but the Lions aren't setting the world on fire either)
-
Great post Demonstrative I think you have hit the nail on the head regarding performance - one thing I will say regarding our leadership on field - apart from Junior Mac I don't think we've had great leaders at this club - but that is just my opinion.... I don't think we've had a leader who blokes can get around and follow since Neitz but anyway So moving forward - Neeld was asked by G Lyon and co in 2012 to come in and shake up the list - He's done that - so moving forward as supporters has Neeld dome irreparable damage? Do we overlook the good he has done and simply say not good enough?? FWIW I think Jackson speaks very well about our situation
-
I don't think Jackson is there to make a call on the FD at this stage I think he is in the position as he is a specialist at running and analyising corporations. He'll step in and make recommendations on how the club is run and how it can better use it's resources etc etc I think he'll kick some asses for what it's worth and I hope he does. Not sure he's reporting back to the AFL but I am 100% confident he is in correspondence with Vlad. Would also love to know what is being said heart beats true!!! Having the AFL on our side at the moment is not a bad thing!!

Thanks for the reply robbie was a good read I will try to respond - so for you it is basically results and you aren't happy with the attitude displayed by Neeld or the players.(my poor summary of your response ) I actually think he gave the playing group a chance to stand up in 2012 (Clearly it failed due to a mixture of what you've stated and senior players couldn't play to the expectations or didn't want to) I don't think you've said anything wrong robbie I am not trying to argue with you - I am simply moving/looking forward. What's done is done, we need to focus on the future. For me getting angry with Neeld will not help the situation, he get's fired and we are back to 2012 IMO - longer rebuild I think Neeld in 2013 is going about reconstructing this list - I think he feels currently our players can't play and will continue to cull this list. Neeld lacks some compusre in the Media not going to argue there, but coaches need to grow as do players. The real question is - is Neeld the right man for this job. And I think he is starting to build a decent list and has a pretty good record of attracting good talent to the list (Hogan, Tomupas, Dawes, Clark etc) Thats a pretty good record for a terrible preforming side. Neeld does need to produce on field in 2013 though - getting blown out should never be acceptable He has my support on the basis he fully reconstructs this football club and can produce results with the talent he has now. Getting smashed each week is not acceptable for anyone and Neeld will take care of Neeld there. Mind you if Clarkson or Roos said they want the job I'd be happy for them to step in - But I don't believe in fairy tales, hard work is the only thing that will get this clube to rise. I don't believe a White Knight will save us

Yep Demonfan, i reckon this has hut us a lot as well.... Trenners is clearly playing through injury. As much as it is funny for opposition supporters to laugh at our poor development there is no way a classy junior like Trengrove is 100% at the moment or for the past 18 months
-
First up I just want to restate that I don't think our results at the moment are close to good enough, What I want to know from the anti Neeld side is, What disappoints you blokes the most?? Are you most angry because Simply results? Because Neeld IMO has said these blokes )current list) aren't good enough and has taken up a total rebuild? or you just think he is not good enough as a coach, for whatever reason? For me I still don't know if he is the right coach - results in 2013 are gong to dictate if he stays or not. For mine though even though we've gone backwards and are rebuilding I reckon he's put this club in a good position. Not for 2013 but this is the reason I think why. Hogan, Toumpas and young Jack, he's brough in Mitch and Dawes. These blokes aren't going to pay dividends now, but in 2014/15 when we get a group that matures together and a decent midfield group I reckon this club will explode. There is a lot of hard work left to do and we need blokes like Evans,, M Jones, T MacDonald, Howe etc to keep growing, and it's going to take time but If Neeld does the right thing and keeps maturing this group I reckon we could have a decent side.... The hardest thing to accept is that it is not going to happen in 2013
-
I love this argument - Sack Neeld now or a player signed until the end of 2014 will walk (maybe not your exact point TimD but that is the gist I get from the Neeld has lost the players argument) good ol scare mongering Ahh disappointed i wasn't the #2000 post - i'll aim for #2222 Edit - clarification
-
The MFC brand was damaged long before Mark Neeld took over He hasn't helped it much yet......... but has at least 38 games to improve it (if he makes it to the end of his contract) Next argument........
-
Not sure if serious or not Rusty but it did give me a laugh Liked it
-
I'm surprised you think it's only been this year Don't remember too many good times since 06
-
I'd be very surprised if anyone inside the club (including the coaches) were 'happy' we got beaten by the Blues. And don't start commenting on the press conference - I believe you have higher intelligence then that Rhino, we all know that is 'fluff; for the media. It;s their bloody job to feild a competitive team I am sure they are under pressure as well and want to turn this around as bad as we want it to be. This argument should not bet about accepting our mediocrity - This is about what direction the club should take Neeld & Craig or someone else
-
Agree can't argue with that JMac. I haven't been happy with our performances I though the post I quoted highlighted our lack of leaders and experience I would love a lot higher intensity, and a lot more tackling as well (love the hard tackling teams like Swans, Hawks etc thats how i'd love the dees to play) - but who drives that? Leaders - we don't have them JMac I don't want to excuse the performance of the team, just highlighting reality Nothing wrong with demanding performance
-
Haha - ahh lawdy one thread not enough GNF Pretty sure i saw a young Neeld on the grassy knoll as well
-
Outside the box Demonfan - I like it Garland has impressed me this season - kudos to him - Wouldn't object to increasing the captaincy to carry the loan
-
Happy to see Dawes get a game - am interested to see what he brings. ATM I just want to see contests Also want to see the Jet Jetta back in - not a superstar but you can't say he doesn't have a go and he likes to hit the opposition - am a fan As for outs - whateves not really fussed (Glad I'm not a coach )
-
Nice summary You've highlighted very well the gulf in experience which reflects our on field results. I like everyone else here are bloody disappointed we are so poor but facts are we have a lot of development to do Hoping the boys can get a bit of form up and win us a few games - otherwise it's going to be a very long year!
-
Excellent post and contribution Bimbo

I don't think anyone is silly enough to be happy with our on field results to date The question regarding Mark Neeld should be - is Mark Neeld the man to lead/educate this group out of the AFL wilderness - Can he mould this team in to a winning team? Are Neeld/Craig and Mission the combo for the MFC? I personally believe we don't know yet and he deserves at least until the end of the year to prove himself. I am [censored] orf with being flogged each week but I disagree that this club is any better then a bottom 4 list with the experience and talent on hand. I am going off the top of my head but coaches implementing real change take a good couple of years to get it done. See Hardwick, Malthouse, Blues early 00's etc etc If the board does a through review fo the FD for whatever reason and says Neeld is not the man I am happy to live with that decision - I won't accept rushed reactional decisions, those decisions will leave this Club as the joke it is currently
-
I really hope he stays until year end The entertainment value on here will be golden
-
I reckon people who've argued Neeld mishandled the Moloney fallout are probably spot on, and that Moloney would have added real value to the team in 2013 with his AFL ready body and clearence work etc etc But I do support Neeld that Moloney is not the type of mid I want Viney etc to be. Moloney is a flat track bully and some people might be happy with that but I am not
-
Also the majority of the team has played more then 0 - 40 games of AFL, i reckon that helps But spot on I agree - Cats are the team to look up to
-
I agree with what you have said Pates, but that bold line caught my eye I reckon Grimes is an average kick and Chip although better still isn't great I hope this FD can address these issues - but I am not going expecting miracles overnight. It really is frustrating....
-
Apart from the 2nd qrt I can't argue with that We are sadly poor and even sadder it's going to take time and hard work to get out of this hole
-
I'm pretty sure I heard the umpire say 'contact goal attack'
