  1. I hear what your saying and i think fitness plays a part but I personally think it's confidence and execution which prevent turnovers All i can say to the rest is I agree - but i think unfortunately for everyone at the MFC the FD has had to focus on effort and mind set - we're not even close to implementing a game plan - we are playing a style but players are not executing
  2. I don't understand what you're saying stuie - are you saying the midfield need to drop back more - who will the backs kick it to then?? Have you at all considered the back line contributes to the amount of opposition forward 50 entries. Not sure if you watched the Tigers game but of the 15 ish behinds the Tigers scored I reckon most of them were rebounded straight back in. One point kick in got cleared 3 or 4 times only for the tigers to bomb it straight back in because it went straight to opposition. I'm pretty sure Dunn stickhed up frawely twice How can you justify pinning it all on the midfield??? Weight of numbers of opposition entries make that stat look relevant - truth is we are very poor at clearing the defensive 50, turnovers all over the ground kill us How about some stats about how we score - that will tell us how well we counter attack - I bet you the majority of our goals come from stoppages and opposition turnovers
  3. We are the luckiest club in the world :)
  4. True Bonkers and I do take this in to account - I simply don't believe the MFC at this stage can execute - I don't want to take pot shots at players but our backline is the worst in the league for ball use IMO and that puts a ton of pressure on the whole team. I shouldn't just pot the backline we are poor all over the ground. I guess my point is I hope we are working towards playing like Hawks, Cats etc but we don't have the personnel to execute that game plan - and I think we have to focus on the basics... I am not supporting Neeld but he doesn't have an easy job in that regard
  5. True but I think the Dogs will have the advantage with their ability of winning first hands on the ball The other thing in their favour is when we win the ball we turn it over too easily, hence out counter attack is worst in the league.... We need to sustain pressure for 4 qtrs otherwise we'll get easily beaten IMO... The key to the MFC winning in 2013 is the press (as we are too poor on counter attack and in possession - and probbaly don't have the resources) create turnovers and score If Stuie is about I'd love to know how we score the majority of our goals??? Stoppages, turnovers??? It's not counterattack that is for sure - we butcher the ball As much as it is mouth watering to see Dawes and Clark play together we need ball winners to kick it to them - damn i hop Magner M Jones and Davey can continue to perform add Watts and some run and we might be ok?
  6. Dogs have a worse record then us since mid 2012 (hard to believe) I'd still reckon the dogs would be favorite for our game in rd 14?? haha
  7. Interesting Bomber said on the show - in the early 2000s when he took over at Catland they focused on defense.... sounds familiar haha Interesting chat with Bomber and Rocket talking about rebuilding and footy some good insight
  8. And GNF if you listen to the Dawes and Neeld post match conference I think you'll find that they don't think the first 8 rounds has been acceptable either Also did the board disagree with the delisting of Cook and Gysberts?? Afterall they were training the house down.... Are they credited to super list that the MFC had acquired? Is it possible that finals were the goal in 2012 & 13 but after [censored] poor performances on field those expectations had to be reassessed??? Is it at all possible the MFC over rated it's own list when Neeld was hired. Is it all possible GNF that with solid development and education in 2013 and some good pick ups in the 2013 off season that the club might actually turn this around??? Or was Mark Neeld really just sent here to ruin his and everyone elses careers and sink the MFC?? Don't go quoting MN press conferences either - your the one claiming you have inside info - you tell us what the club is doing........ And no I am not intimidated by players leaving (it happens to every club) as long as we are compensated I don't care. Remember $cully - we got Hogan out of that probably Viney as well....
  9. I actually think Neelds done pretty well here - there are some arguable recruits but overall it hasn't been too bad (hogan, VIney, Toumpas, Byrnes Clark, Terlich etc) - or are you going to waste my time with Rodan etc? That last statement makes me think you rant more then you know - why hasn't the board acted if they believe this? In relation to the middle statement what happened??? Surely the board has looked in to this and dealt with it (fire Neeld) - so why haven't they?? Why has the board failed the members if what you say is true?? You have the inside info so please inform us to why no action has been taken? I don't think you have a bad argument or disbelieve you GNF i do think it sounds like fear mongering and you're trying to gain support on the sack Neeld argument - Why haven't the board dealt with this if it is such a big issue? It makes no sense
  10. Not having a crack just giving you an idea for a new thread GNF I think the problem with what you're saying is that current board approved Neelds appointment and I beleive have also green lighted a full list reubild... So if you want to get the coach sacked you'll need to get the current board fired first..... I believe if Neeld can keep his job post the Pies game (unless there are real problems/floggings etc in the second half of the season) i don't see Neeld losing his job in 2013 I also firmly believe 2013 post season will be the most important this club has had in a long time - it will decide Coaches and FD restructure Players who want out will go Brining blokes in (mids and having a fit list) Development of current list Hogan on to the list Board and admin changes (including FD restructure) I reckon these things are the most imporant to get right and plans should be being made now by the Head admin
  11. You don't realise how strongly I agree with you Macca - you've hit the nail on the head about our performance today. I guess I was trying to say I can't answer for Neeld as I'm not Neeld - but lack of experience and kicking efficiency would be key indicators as to why those things listed didn't happen.... At the end of the day I want to see results on the field (im not fussed about press confrences - and yes I agree Neeld has been comfusing and embarassing) and as you say Macca these will take care of themselves and Neelds future.
  12. I take that back BB - surely you can't be serious You got me - i fell for it Joke is on I
  13. Clearly you do... That is up there with the stupidest [censored] i've ever read on this site - I'd be staggered if Demonlanders actually believed what your implying. I'll take a wild stab and guess you believe the CIA was involved in the Kennedy assassination as well i demand a Range Rover poll to verify if Dawes was backing Neeld or was implying that he can't coach fk me I think you need a strong drink BB
  14. Obviously you enjoy waffle - as you say you don't like his answers but you want to ask him questions haha You can believe what you like macca, I'd say look at disposal efficiency and experience but I'm sure you'll only hear what you want from Neeld anyway Enjoy your night
  15. I agree Soidee My point was Dawes was supporting Neeld
  16. Never meant to imply you're a hater Macca - but there are a lot on here who just wish to bolster their hate campaigns and believe what they want to believe, anyway In all serious and i've pointed out before I do not like a lot of the things I hear from Neeld. But what does this really tell us about his coaching ability?? Not a whole lot.... Only the players can tell us if he can't communicate properly or they don't believe in him, so i don't like this communication side of the analysis.... you're right to have your opinion though Lastly about answers for the supporters and perception in the media - i'd rather the team do the talking then everyone loving the coach... Sadly communication and performance have both been [censored] poor so I am not defending Neeld as he needs to improve otherwise he'll go Maybe there is too much analysis of what's being said?
  17. Agree Robbie F - really annoyed me today it kills momentum and puts additional pressure on the team. For the first 3 qtrs when we held the ball and took our time to find and hit targets the boys actually looked good - when we tried to move it too quickly they f'd it up Not sure if experience or lack of confidence or just stupidity
  18. Yep didn't look good Not sure how harsh to be on Davey for that - let the boy get ahead of him then couldn't catch him.... little things like that hurt a lot when a team is struggling
  19. Good post Macca, I don't agree with all that you said but you sum it up pretty well - I agree Neeld is a poor speaker and his answer to the question (don't remember it off hand but the one where Dawes chimed in) started getting long winded was more of a chop out by Dawes I am sick of defending Neeld but I think he's gone in to his shell - He says preseason expect something good from this group he gets flogged and when he tries to explain how hard coaching this group is he gets flogged.... Not sure what people really expect Neeld to say these days If he's positive eveyone calls him a liar - if he's negative everyone says he can't coach... With all the media scrutiny wtf do you say?? I really think making judgements about Neelds coaching from press conferences is pretty limited. It's pretty clear the haters are just gong to hate no matter what is said In saying all that I think Neeld is struggling, and his messages to the public are not great
  20. Go have a hot drink come back and think about what you're saying BB I'll bet you whatever you want (money, houses whatever) that Dawes and Clark both support Neeld. The reference you are talking about is a comment from Clark about Neelds media conference on Saturday.... I agree that Mitch didn't approve (especially if you only read the comment to the question).... But if you actually take a second to watch the press conference or read Mitch's comment you'll find they support Neeld. i htink you'll find mitch said the PLAYERS can turn it around Some extra food for thought BB - Dawes came to the MFC because of Neeld - Dawes in that press conference said it was on the players to perform not the coaches - it must really hurt you Neeld will be coaching again nest week Enjoy
  21. Now that would be something DeeZee!! Was disappointed for Maxy today - but what has he played 8 - 10 AFL games? He'll be right
  22. Since Neeld looks like keeping his job post Tigers game can we start a syndicate I put my money on the Tuesday after the pies game
  23. Am I the only one giggling at the irony of this post.... A lot of pot calling the kettle black in the delusion area bb - just believe what you perceive to be real bb? (I will bet u whatever you like Dawes was sticking up for Neeld) Looks like Neeld has his job for one more week bb - you'll be happier next week after the fro game Edit - Iphone corrections
  24. Not really a change - but backing up the effort from this week would be nice
  25. I thought this bloke was one of our best again today Not sure if I should be sad or not a bloke from the VFL is leading the way (no offense to N Jones)
