  1. Not sure if you have been following this thread Hardnut - I've been saying we are bottom 4 - maybe thats a factor why Neelds vision hasn't been realised As for the rest - your entitled to your opinion and I agree with it in some respects - but just blaming Neeld is nieve, which is what I am trying to get across You simply blame Neeld for all our woes
  2. BB - have you considered that more experienced and stronger AFL sides/bodies can dictate how the game is played which would be a reason why the training track at AAMI park doesn't translate on to the field? Im not sure if you noticed but Neeld and co have been happy with our predominance when playing against teams with similar attributes and experience to us - is that a coincidence or it might be a fact?
  3. I understand but you are applying it to the entire playing group as your example as to why the MFC is so poor at the moment So let me summaries your point - Neeld has asked the entire playing group to be more accountable defensively so they've all dropped their heads and are sulking? Or are you arguing that all the players on the list have no defensive capabilities
  4. No attacks mate But you are applying one situation with one player over the entire playing group consisting of 44ish players and saying it is exactly the same for every player That's why I still won't buy it's all Neelds fault
  5. Agreed mate, we have been poor I agree with you But I won't accept the blame to be 100% placed on 1 person as it is on this thread.
  6. I should go look up afl games played etc of our starting 6 in the middle, but I can't be bothered If you believe those blokes will win us games so be it. But first go have a look at the bigger club's experience of their starting 6 mids - I think you'll see my argument PS: even do it with Carltons starting 6 for this week
  7. Agreed AdamF I'm not saying it can't happen - in fact i prey it does. From what we have seen in 2013 our midfield/forwards and backs are not able to keep up competitiveness for 4 qtrs. The main question is why? A lot of people point simply at Neeld and say the team is not playing for him. There probably is an element of that, but could it be a combination of factors??? i don't think too many people on this thread want to take that in to account. Form/experience/Confidence/continuity/poor leadership/poor directions from coaches etc etc all contribute to why we are so bad on occasions. Fifty5 earlier pointed out the quality of our list at Neelds disposal - Byrnes, Sylvia and possibly N Jones are possibly the only players who have played more the 100 games (not great research there by me ) but my point is our core crop of players have anywhere between 0 - 20 games or 50 - 80 games. Thats 0 to 3 years experience - Name the sides who rely on those sorts of players to win them games? Where is the consistent AFL football coming from in that group?? - our lack of leadership and experience is a real concern (I am sure I've made a few mistakes in the games played - but it's about highlighting experience that none are real consistent AFL players)
  8. I don't know how you can say that with a straight face - I haven't seen any stats but I'm pretty sure we've been smashed every week in center clearances and defensive work rate, contested and uncontested possession. Our backline is getting smashed I wouldn't even call it decent with the form Frawley and T Mac are in I don't buy your argument at all fity5 Bailey had 2 almost 3 years in charge to implement his plans before 'results' were seen - Neelds had 1.3 years. How long do you expect a new coach to turn this club around? And if he hasn't produced in 18 months will you call for his head as well?
  9. I've got to go mate but to quickly answer Watts was mis managed before Neeld got here - so I don't accept that at all Frawley is under preforming I won't argue that T Mac is out of form and still only 21 with 20 games??? C'mon lets not expect too much Defensive and offensive collusion takes years to develop - I agree some showings of this side have been [censored] poor - but how much is Neeld and how much is the experience of the team?? Just have a look at how many guys in the seniors are under 30 - 40 games With or without Neeld this rebuild is going to last longer then 2013 - I bet you that more then 50% of this board expected Viney and Toumpas to come in to this side and dominate from day 1
  10. I don't think anyone can definitely say it's Neelds fault - and that's what I'm trying to say. In saying all that I don't foresee Neeld staying until years end, but when Neeld does go I still don't expect this team to play significantly better BB we will probably go around in circles all day - Bailey had 2 almost 3 years - in the 3rd we started to see some results I don't see why Neeld doesn't get the same chance. (Unless the team gets smashed each and every week)
  11. How then in post 1476 can you then pass judgment on Neeld? I like your reasoning in the above post - but again you form your opinion on our list and Neeld but admit to not knowing anything about the list. It makes no sense - you just attribute sacking Neeld to better predominance with no real rational to why you think we are under preforming list I'm not having a go at you BB - a lot of the argument on here has been ratiionised to support the sacking of Neeld. I've said all along I don't think it is that simple
  12. Haha fair enough - Where are 5 additional goals per game going to come from offensively? And then how do we stop teams smashing us in the center clearances defensively? With the majority of the team hat has 30 - 40 games experience Then go tell Neeld and co, because your analysis is clearly superior to theirs
  13. I'll say it again - nothing will change, we will get beaten a lot with or without Neeld Accept it I want a competitive team as well. Peter Jackson has nothing to do with this We are not playing Suburban footy, teams will not donate us wins. You can change the coach and structure all you want I gaurentee you that our average losing margins will be 10 goals. We are fielding teams with the experience and talent level of GWS and GC A lot have argued and would be right that at the moment GWS and GC have more scope for development with the higher and better picks in the Draft The only way out of this is hard work and MFC supporters don't have the stomach to do it. I don't care if it is Neeld or whoever, someone needs to show some balls and do it
  14. I reckon MFC supporter are moron's - look at our performances how can you justify that statement? It's illogical, we've been a bottom 4 club for the last 4 - 5 years (bAR 2011, but even then we got spanked by good sides), how can you say that? It's mind boggling that you actually believe that
  15. Who cares..... the whole year is going to be [censored] Expect to be beaten a lot Does that make you feel better now? Whoever is coach of this team in 2013 will get spanked a lot It;s full of [censored] weakso called leaders on and off the field and the high expectations on too young players expected to lift the load our senior players can't in years 1 & 2.and even 3 Neeld gambled on having 3 years - and lost Wowee we are back to rebuilding again......... Luckily midfields can be built in a year or 2, so until 2015 i reckon we will be sitting here complaining about getting spanked a lot
  16. BB - Definetly agree with your point where everyone thought we would be. The bold part really worries me. I believe everyone assumes if Neeld goes that suddenly everything will change.... It won't. As a club we are where we are - only hard work will get us back to where we want to be. Peter Jackson coming in will not solve any problems short term - His appointment is to assess where we are at and make recommendations. People need to get their heads out of the clouds - Sacking Neeld will not solve our problems.......... FWIW I don't say that in supporting Neeld to stay - it's just a fact that we are no better then a bottom 4 side
  17. Don't like hearing that old dee, i hear what you're saying, I've probably only been supporting the Dees 1/3 of the time you and it's been quite dressing the past few years but that's not the Australian spirit. Stick together, support your mates and never give up under any circumstances, We've just had ANZAC day recently and their values ring true for me right now!! Fire up old fella! Jump on the underdog!!
  18. Excellent post Dee-luded This is the most sensible post i've read on this thread about the Neeld situation
  19. Yep you can't stick up for Neeld on that one really - he''s dug his own hole there Byrnes has been good but the rest have had little to no impact - so at the moment it's a clear error in judgement by Neeld. Again as I posted before - there is no way out of the hole apart from hard work, our list might have older players on it but AFL experience is on par with GWS and GC - and that is a reality It depends what you want more I guess - short term gains or long term?? I will sacrifice short term for a club in the future I think can win every week and compete with the best. Neeld will dictate his own fate from here IMO If the players don't want to play for him they will lose over the next few weeks and he will be gone - it will take care of itself And I am done with this thread and this club - it's too bloody depressing and it's doing my head in
  20. I am heavily conflicted with this post On one hand I don't like hearing my club being in this situation with the playing group being unhappy - and i don't reckon you need to use your imagination to see who you maybe alluding to (12 & 8) On the other hand I'd say this attitude is that of a weak playing group and a weak club. Players should never dictate how they play the game. Only 8 had achieved anything being an AA in 2009??, the rest haven't achieved anything - none are consistent AFL players, none deserve any recognition So do we choose the hard road - and install a new culture of hard work and professionalism - or do we cave in to demands for short term gains and more then likely stay weak? As i said I am heavily conflicted - this club is f'ked either way it goes - I give up
  21. If he does that he will be a miracle worker haha Haha enjoyed that
  22. If we get smashed by Carlton wouldn't the coaching issue logically take care of itself? You're argument is nothing more then speculation - there is no need to rush Neeld out the door yet. You're more then likely get your wish if we get smashed by the blues and beaten by GC the week after At least let the club show some professionalism the ability to honor contracts and review who is out there and wants to coach this rabble of a weak club
  23. Dribble - please provide evidence - not speculation
  24. Neeld will take care of Neeld - eg:: If he keeps getting flogged he will go There is no need to panic - the odds of him being coach at the end of 2013 are pretty slim - I don't understand why posters feel the need to rush this We are going to be a poor side in 2013 no matter who is coach. Anyone who thinks Neeld doesn't deserve a chance to finish the 2013 season is either stupid or has an agenda. If anyone says the players will benefit - you are delusional - exactly how is the playing group going to improve without Neeld there? THe players play on game day not the coach, All the same issues with Neeld there are still going to be there without Neeld
  25. Spot on RFPC, i agree 100% We are a weak club who are bullied by the media and our own supporters..... It is very sad to watch If you don't want to renew your membership Older Demon - don't. Don't hold the club to ransom... i've got stronger words but you are entitled to your opinion
