  1. Pretty good summation of our current situation WAClark
  2. It's pretty damning on everyone at the club that a player has to come out and say that in fthe first place, not just daming the coach. It's a really tough question - Who's fault is it? - players are meant to be professional as well as the coach.... It's simply not good enough no matther which side you support - the players or Neeld. It's [censored] childish and unprecedented in the AFL.....Am going to rant now P Man, am not having a crack at you First it was Schwabs fault - when 186 happened, now it's Neelds fault - 2013 season - when does this [censored] end? Who is going to take responsibility? There is very little from anyone at the club taking responsibility - I also find it damning on this club it's taken so long to get a Jackon in to this club. There were clear problems at the club and nothing was done. I don't see Neeld in the job past May 13 but in his defence at least he is having a crack at fixing years of wrongs
  3. Good points - no doubt it is possible. If there is an issue there, you'd have to assume it is pretty serious to really have a massive effect on the performance of the playing group? I can see there being problems with Neeld and the incumbent employees from the Bailey era - but for that to effect the player performance stinks of club mediocrity
  4. Interesting McQueen I beleive Jackson's refrence to the FD has nothing to do with Neeld - it's more an ineffective operation due to it's structure and how it works - but i could be wrong. On Neelds' influence in the FD being the head coach and having his head on the chopping block I'd say it's fair enough he has a lot of influence. I am not attacking you McQueen i realise there are issues there as well But you kind of can't have it both ways - blame MN for everything on field and then also blame him for having too much influence
  5. I actually agree 100% with you Stuie Am sick of all the talk from players and coaches - f'n start delivering Syliva for years has said to the supporters he wan't to repay the faith - according to Rino and others is Sylvia lying to us?
  6. I agree with a lot of what you have said Scoop but I don't nessecarily agree with how you got to those conclusions The part I highlighted I wanted to discuss, as it is causing a lot of anger with us supporters - and so it should. I also want to say I am not a Neeld supporter as such, I don't care who coaches us as long as they fix this rabble of a club.... Anyway back to my point - How much can be blamed to Neeld and how much the players??? I say it's 50/50 blame and here is why. It's a cop out to say a team dosen't know what to do on field, I highly doubt the plans at the moment are overly complicated. Win the ball and spread would be the main messages I'd imagine - it's also cop out blaming the coach because a player can't beat their man 1 v 1, can't lay a tackle or won't run in support, won't lower their eyes and bomb the ball. We all saw so many [censored] poor efforts on Sunday from a lot of players. How many times did players ignore open players and bomb - i'd be truely staggered if that was an instruction I am not discounting the coaching instructions and disconnect of the playing group but all the same these blokes are meant to be professional footballers. Why has a 7 gamer in Matt Jones shown more consistent form and effort then say a Howe or Dunn I think the whole club stinks of gorups - Players who want to play, players who couldn't give a stuff and players who have disconnected with the coaching staff.... I don't care if Neeld stays or goes, but it is obvious Neeld coaching style is not the only problem at this club
  7. Interesting comments Rino - I just read the article and got a completely different picture Would like to know how you come to that conclusion? Am genuinely interested. And if you could also specifically these two lines in the article – see below Instead of being able to continue teaching an inexperienced playing group how to play a style of footy that will allow us to compete in finals, Neeldy and his coaching staff have to spend this week reminding us about something that we lacked for half the game on Sunday night - EFFORT. That sort of effort shouldn't need to be coached, and the fact that this week it does need to be coached is an indictment of the playing group. Over the past month we've seen highly competitive, sustained efforts that have only been let down by lacking a bit of polish offensively. Sunday night felt like a step backwards. Disappointing? Yes. The end of the club as we know it? Definitely not. Read more: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/some-fans-may-have-given-up-hope-but-players-havent-20130514-2jklu.html#ixzz2TK71277E I already feel it's safe to assume you'll say the disconnect between Neeld and the playing group is the reason - but in all seriousness that sort of effort described by Dawes is the sole responsibility of the player. If you say it is because of the disconnect between the playing group and Neeld and David Parkin today in the HS has said he believes Neeld and Craig are competent coaches and Craig in particular is the right man for the rebuilding job - Is it fair to say Rino that Neeld is not the main problem and 2013 will be the cull of the list the MFC desperately needs? Thoughts
  8. Good question DeeZee I don't blame everything on the players as their jobs would be hard without all the proper resources (proper mids for starters) But 2 things I find very damning on the playing group - who can't blame anyone else but themselves Why is a 1st year player Matt Jones the most consisten prefomer on that team And if leaders at the club say the effort is not there - why, speak up or [censored] orf
  9. I thought Dawes was ok as well considering the effort level produced on Sunday - and I agree he actually showed skill and composure which it seemed every other player couldn't. I like the sound of Gawn?Clark in Ruck with Dawes and Hogan manning the forward line - that has a lot of potential (that dirty word) So as I see it, we have 3 steps to success 1. Bring in Hogan and Play Mitch more in the ruck 2. ???? 3. Premiership Too greasy !! :)
  10. I thought so as well old dee - I thought he implied the boys were supporting Neeld So unless I am hearing things according to many on this forum - Col is lying??
  11. Everyone has their opinion and that's fine - but I reckon you are just happy to point at one person and blame it all on him. This post wreaks of scape goating..... I agree the FD needs to be fixed, i have no doubt about there will be big changes. But for mine you are basically implying that the players are not responsible for their own performance, Neeld and the FD have to take a lot of the responsibility but a players ability to make a decision and execute a tackle or kick are solely on the player. I find it most amazing and disturbing we are so desperate to blame and focus all our anger on one person that we'll accept the players don't have to perform to a minimum standard under any circumstancc because they're upset. Are we talking about AFL footy or the outback magoos??? Our players don't even meet minimum KPI's at VFL level (based on Sunday's game) I'd reckon The whole club stick of under performance and low expectations or easy excuses - it's not me it's the coach, it's not my fault I can't coach it's the FD structure. It's not my fault the FD can't do their job etc etc - what a joke of an organisation This club deserves to be kicked out of the AFL - professional organisation my ass PS - im not implying Col Garland - he has been on positive in 2013 for mine
  12. I hear what you're saying GNF but we can't excuse the non effort form the players - Effort on the field is dictated by the playing group not the coach. The coach is ultimately responsible for the playing group - I believe the FD will be held responisble (we all know the implactions of these preformances) but I don't like that the players get off scott free... It's too easy to just blame the coach - this culture is why we are where we are now, no accountibility from the playing list all the way through to the top of the admin
  13. Thanks for the info Bob Pretty damming stuff - and I have no reason to believe you would lie The one thing that gives me hope is that there are still people out there with a passion for this club and maybe we can turn our darkest hour in to our finest hour (in the words of the great leader Winston)
  14. I couldn't give two hoots about Neelds future But I will use this thread to make my point and stand that anything less then 100% commitment from the playing group is UNacceptable I've had enough _ i am almost ready to quit watching AFL
  15. Anyone who gives 100% should be our core group. I dont' care how highly they're paid, where they were drafted or how far a pole has been shoved up their ass telling them how good they are. 100% commitment or [censored] off and play in the VFL until you can be fired or leave
  16. You might be right P Man, and I am posting simply because I am [censored] orf - but that is a [censored] weak excuse from any player in the AFL not to give 100% on game day. I am not supporting Neeld - I am pointing out WE the stakeholders are can't and won't accept that output
  17. Correct I'va - they are soft I know that's not your point but after this year I really don't care....... Players leave clubs all the time - if Sundsy is any indication of the effort level and pride they have then bye bye This club should be bigger then the players - stop giving these [censored] weak blokes excuses
  18. Personally I don't care about this at all.... Other clubs can take our soft [censored] weak players - I am sure they'll thrive in enviorments where they can be role players and not put in any actual hard efforts I don't accept this bullcrap that the players can't be held responsible for their performance - We need to build a culture that say Sunday's perfomance is not acceptable. Neeld may be a [censored] coach but he can't be held 100% responisbile for that [censored] weak effort. I don't care if the players don't like him, it's no excuse to be [censored] weak I don't think anyone knows what the answer is - sack the coach just confirms that the players can take the easy road. Don't sack the coach and we have to continue to put up with this [censored] MFC is buggered if it does and buggered if it doesn't - it's a shame you can't sack 20 players and coaches all at once I'va no offence but blokes who don't put in 100% can get stuffed no matter their talent level. So if they want to walk I am happy with that - as a matter of fact put their hands up now and don't put on the red and blue ever again There seems to be a culture at this club where we suuporters and staff accept medocrity. How does a club let players go out on the field and not put in 100%? This club needs to make a stand - Players not putting in 100% should be exposed, Coaching staff not donig their job should also be exposed. It's not good enough - and we supporters are just accepting it In a perfect world you would sack them all (coaches and players) but we can't - First we need effort then we need a football structure to lead us forward and I highly doubt that anyone already at the club are the right ones to take this club forward
  19. Haha need that laugh Cheers
  20. PS - I don't want to hear excuses like Neeld upset them [censored] weak - and I don't want to hear your [censored] weak excuses for the playing group
  21. I agree machine - I will qualify my statement that I think Neeld is 'Max Gawn' But how can the players not be held accountable?? Makes no sense.. i think it was 100 odd tackle attempts 36 stuck, that is pathetic People here can go on about how Neeld has fractured the playing group - whatever, Any player not giving 100% when the take the field doesn't deserve our support. Whoever they are how ever highly rated they are they can [censored] off. That effort is below VFL level If a player thinks he can give 50% and get away with it because he dosen't like the coach I will not support them.... And there were more then a handfull that didn't give a stuff last night
  22. I'll accept a loss when I know the team isn't good enough But this result has nothing to do with that - Can't support this effort level. Lack of tackling, inability to use team mates, lack of intensity no accountability and not turning up from qtr 1 are in-excusable I've been against emotional rash decisions but this is crap, it's f'ing Gold coast and they can't lay a tackle or hit a target Enough is enough - whatever the result RIP MFC
  23. Haven't got a lot of cash on me wyl but I will be hitting up the bar for sure!
  24. Yeh you're right but it was more an example rather then literal
  25. Haha fair enough - I shouldn't have rudely interrupted, was just on a posting roll Sorry mate
