  1. As I said before the Bombers game the team is much too short. Suns FB, CHB, CHF & FF all 197+ cm. So we drop two of the bigger players and bring in mids and smalls. Looks like Lynch is up for a Daniher. When the turf hits the fan, we can minimise damage with Pederson to CHF, Garland to FF and Hogan to CHF. Means Garland has to relieve in the ruck. Dear Selectors, you are very foolish men.
  2. The golden goal may well be prone to controversy. The defending team would want rush a point to get control of the ball. A bit of mind-reading required for the umpires.
  3. Unfortunately lacking fit players Trengrove, Petracca need another VFL week IN Dunn after a run at Casey, Frost by necessity, Alex Neal-Bullen, Grimes by necessity, Stretch for speed and by necessity. OUT Brayshaw underdone and injured knee in first, Lumumba will not get rid of the ball before he is dragged down, Oliver got caught in full speed match and probably knackered, Kent slacked off, AND Watts and Hogan to watch the toss of the coin for the last spot. Hogan created zero mayhem when the ball was coming in for yet another Essendon defensive mark Would like to drop Jetta and Vandenberg but vwerry vwerry afwaid of Michie Need to keep Peterson for rucking
  4. Much too short. Hopefully we are foxing and Dunny comes in for a injury.
  5. Demons by 19 points Brayshaw BOG overtaking Oliver who will tire. Melbourne will play finals.
  6. As much as I hate Sheedy, getting him to the club to make him thence unemployable is a distraction.
  7. Yes, pick him up at 3. I imagine Sheedy's mob screwed with his mind to get him to join them at 2. Can we trade pick 3 to the Maggies for pick 18 which is still in the first round? And they would give us 39 for our 64.
  8. Moloney - too slow now Sellar - tries down back

    Neeld?

Hey Bonkers TheMythbusters showed that you can polish a turd. Frawley, Garland, Martin, Jones, Trengrove and others aren't turds. Was the long bombs into the forward line the game plan? I hope not.
  10. Maggies by 31 Norm Smith - Pendlebury First Goal - Dawes Crowd - 95,235
  11. Those aren't our young future players except Gawn. We seem to have good strike rate 2009-2011 for players who are going to be guns and reasonable number who will develop into good ordinary players. Guns - Bail, Blease, Gawn, Gysbert, Howe, MacDonald, Tapscott, Trengrove, Watts Let me just get the safety catch off - Evans, Nicholson, Bennell, Strauss Is this thing loaded - McNamara, Grimes, Jetta, Jurrah, Spencer Firing Blanks - Wonaeamirri
  12. Tough on George Lakes I would say. What do you expect from a HFF on starvation corner?
  13. What ever happened to Mad Monday? I will have to piously berate the dog instead. Oh. He's not looking away furtively; they are just itchy.
  14. No not Eade. He is too old as is Malthouse. He has taken the Bulldogs to very strange (un?)mix of light pacy players who in their prime couldn't match with the stronger teams. He kept on Johnson at FF and so forth. Mark Williams gives the appearance of being loopy and not of this earth. Clarkson would be good if available which he won't be. His team play a good style of football (for the odd quarter or two). So it looks like Laidley. He got North playing well for 92% of the money. He had the nouse and guts to walk away from a team that would be hampered by cash limitations. What a bastard (swoon!). PS Hi Tony
  15. I was interested in the criticism of the recruiting. Gysbert, Scully, Trengrove, Bail, Tapscott have all hit the ground running. Evans had just a good debut. Even recruiting yet another mid-size halfback flanker Joel Macdonald seems to have added something when we are firing. The lessons that I draw from the 1997 and 2007 seasons is that if you sack the coach, you can sink very, very low. The stand-in is also marked as a failure for life. What MFC needs to realise is that the buck stops with the Board. The Board offered to look after club for us members and we took them up on their offer. The Board needs to satisfy themselves that the football department has identified what needs to be done and can demonstrate progress against those objectives. For example, handpasses become more bullet-like and well directed, certain players chase opponents out of the forward line. Just looking at whether we win games is too blunt an instrument to do the job. It is incorrect, pointless and a bit weak to blame the players unless they are sworn to a secret conspiracy possibly involving aliens and Leonardo Da Vinci’s picture of The Last Supper. Like Daniher, Bailey isn’t the Messiah and we are very, very naughty boys for thinking so. It is irresponsible to just leave it to the coach to fix the on-field and then turn on him after years of childlike adoration.
  16. Rivers has been the pleasant surprise to me. I thought he was gone with Garland, Martin, Warnock & Frawley lurking. Still takes a lovely mark.
  17. Martin is getting his hand on the ball a lot but still needs to learn to direct to red and blue jumper. A bit of work there for the ruck coach. I would like to see him up forward to take some marks and free up Jurrah. I wonder if he might be gawn for next week.
  18. No don't fire him. But don't give him an extension. Whoops, we already have. Bail, Scully and Trengove are adequately prepared to rock. Should be an interesting year. And that is why we kept Jamar not Jolly.
  19. Not up to it over several years Bell Johnson Past it Whelan Junior Sookey sookey la la (& bye bye) Robbo Offer for trade Rivers (got Garland, Morton) Keep until something better comes along Jamar Keep another year if contracted (obviously)- might develop Newton Dunn Pant Pant MacKenzie
  20. Newton would have a future if someone sat him on their kneee (better use someone tall, maybe Jimmy) and said "Son, don't worry about kicking the goal. We don't care right now. Just drop the ball onto your foot correctly and follow through the kick." At the moment, Newton looks like he is hooking the kids' basketball out of the way with the rake ready to mow the lawn. And you can smell the fear from the stand. He gets near the ball much more than a couple of years ago. He would only get within 20 metres three times a game in 2006/7. I can send in a 2001 Auskick CD (onya Woey) if MFC is struggling for kicking skills expertise.
