  1. Key backs: May, Tomlinson, Lever, Hibbard, Smith Running backs: Lockhart, Hunt, JJ, Nieshke, (Nev) Additional talls: TMac, Petty, Potentially Brown Think we have depth, perhaps no back-up to lever role is the only true hole. I would say if we needed a replacement, it would be for an intercept defender as back up.
  2. On AFL.com, they are dissecting ‘fantasy’ markets for each team. Personally, I’m not into all of that fantasy stuff, but the article mentioned that apart from our top 3 (who are league leaders), the rest drop away fast in terms of fantasy points performances. We apparently have the same number of players who average rank under 75 (whatever that means) as North Melbourne. This tells me that there is significant upside for our ‘next tier’ players to consistently play to a higher standard. If fantasy points mean anything (and they don’t, really do they?), it shows we too often leave it to too few to do too much. How do others interpret this?
  3. Brown - he kicks bags we are difficult to beat. Brayshaw - becomes the elite inside mid, working with Clayton in the middle and sending Viney to HF. Kossie- showed glimpses, could be a terror for opposition teams if he gets his radar right, tackles like a beast and runs like a demented squirrel. Jacko - An elite big man that plays like he has the ball on a string? Mark of the year. Impossible matchup. Bradtke- need to know if he will make it or not. Does he step up to a level that suggests he gets onto the list, or is he done? Important for our post max planning, which is not so far away
  4. The goodie answer to the Connelly blazer fiasco??
  5. I appreciate the pics, even if we don’t have the reports of intrepid d’landers to know how the boys are going. It would be great to know some info on style changes, positional shifts, rehab group, how fringe guys are doing. I would also love to hear how the coaches are doing. but alas, all remains behind locked fences for now....
  6. Wow, TMac looks like he has trimmed down heaps! Trac looks rolls Royce and Max looks lean. These galleries are all we are going to get I reckon. Williams looks like someone pinched his lunch!
  7. The value happens when it is lived, not just written down. It has to come from the players, owned by the players and lived by them. Having the club make it is just another waste of paper.
  8. The game plan has to be built around the players and their capabilities and strengths. We have suffered too much from seagull football (all midfielders getting drawn into contests like it is a bag of hot chips) and red mist (get ball, get rid of ball any way that I can). Our game plan has to be fluid and respond to where we are at in the game - we have to smart enough to turn up the gas or to choke the opposition. Knowing when to go fast or go slow is what we lacked. When we just banged our heads doing the same stuff all the time, people here complained about no ‘plan B’. Our game plan needs to be focused around how we can best move the ball and score. We have failed to do that effectively over the last two seasons.
  9. I hope your 2021 is much better, Wrecker. Best wishes and better fortunes to all.
  10. Happy premiership year, dees fans! (ok, I might be on the beers with Dan a bit early...)
  11. 1. A lot of ego involved I would think. If Weid comes on Brown looks brilliant. Brown is media not coaching, so it can boost his profile if it goes well. 2. He has been developed and coached. 2018 no one would have thought this was needed. Now, something different might make an impact. Sometimes going too early with this stuff can confuse a player. Now without a specific full forward as coach, this is a cheap way to get good ideas into his head, give him a confidante. He also has the experience of Ben Brown to work with, too.

  13. None in the first block, but lots of FTA. We are also the home team for both of our blockbusters, too. Not such a bad fixture, so far!
  14. Annoyed.. double booked already! Will have to miss the first game I could get to in 12 months. Bugger.
  15. Think you are onto it, Mr Onion. My alternate list: Superman, Gumby, Dr Emmett Brown, Richie rich, Treebeard, Beaker from the muppets, Ally McBeal, Pennywise the clown, gollum.
  16. The Cale Morton guns club. always a big difference seeing the boys versus the men. Time for the gym, lads!
  17. Who of the three lad taken does he see playing first? Why?
  18. I’d take it a little further: How many calls did we make on draft night to trade picks? How many did we receive? (In essence, were we happy with sliding 18/19)? Reading the Collingwood article in the Age, they had calls from nearly everyone but us.
  19. Agreed - I had it on mute on the side whilst I did something else. Only time I turned it up and tuned in was at our pick. Could be a viewing experience, but they know how to ruin it
  20. 2020 draft was terrible viewing. 5 mins per bid, apparently the bids were put in quick but held back until 30 seconds to go to build the BS. They need to do a lot better - every bid 2 minutes with each club having 3 ‘extensions’ if a trade for picks is on the table. These guys don’t need the time - they have all the time whilst others are making their bids to sort out any final selections or decide on trade-ups etc. Listening to the ‘experts’ wears thin after 5 minutes, let alone 26 picks in a first round....
  21. Nah, I reckon the recruiters were working to a list of needs earlier than Yze appointment. Might have added to the conversation, but don’t think he shaped it greatly.
  22. @WERRIDEE, i like that you took a few big risks at selection for the nekkid memorial team. Here’s my ‘nearest to the pin’ version: B: HIBBERD, MAY, LEVER HB: SALEM, TOMLINSON, RIVERS C : LANGDON,PETRACCA, BAKER HF: FRITSCH, WEIDEMAN , SPARGO F: PICKETT, B.BROWN,JACKSON FOLL: GAWN, OLIVER, VINEY IC: HARMES, HUNT,SPARROW, BRAYSHAW EMERG:PETTY, JONES, NEAL-BULLEN, BOWIE
  23. So i think we carry 2 potential spots forward? Good chance to have a look at a few over summer and see who we might like. I thought there were still a few reasonable types in the rookie draft, so really interesting we didnt grab anyone at all....
  24. Welcome to the MFC - PASS
