Wt f are you doing....talking sense... stop it, stop it !! The truth as they say often lies in the middle somewhere. Are we pushing him out ? Doubt it. Has he asked for a trade ? Seemingly not. That's the black and white of it so to speak. Ahhh.. but the grey. All the half said and inferred things... the if's, maybes and could/should/woulds. A simple reality , distasteful to some, is that the idea has not been unequivocally shut down. It could be, but it hasn't. There is only one takeaway from that and that the possibility is live. Note live, not necessarily likely nor probable.... but possible. This to me simply spells pragmatism. Im all for pragmatism.. Go Dees

I've lost the plot ?? lol Firstly... I said should he go. Where did I say we would get 'nothing' of he did. You seem to pick and choose. Good luck.with that. Im happy enough understanding where we really are. You're perfectly entitled to your own views. If he does decide to seek other pastures the contract is just something to be accommodated.

It's hard to know when no one is saying boo. An element to all of this might be , emphasis..might... that a lot of ppl , including players, were caught off guard by the club casting Goodwin adrift. I think a lot of players admin etc all thought they knew the lay of the land and their place upon it. And then they didn't. Overnight a lot of plans and thoughts to the future effectively vapourised into the ether. All bets were off. A new slate was coming to town. Have a sneaking suspicion this unsettled a few apple carts . A lot of things seem to have "not happened" as many might have thought they might have,by now, pre Goidwin axing. Has this caused a number to step back a bit and just watch and wait before giving away too much ?? No one was game to play the first card. Then the club played another. "All those playing for the Dees take a step forward ..... where do you think you're going Stephen !!" This possibly only cements in to the minds of some to stand still and say nothing, for the moment. In a week the new Sheriff ambles into Dodge. He'll start assembling his posse .Those he hasn't tipped his hat with a howdy yet are bound to get a sit-down. I think then and only then will things start unfolding, and rather quickly. Til then the rabid rabble aka footy media will scurry around in the shadows ferreting for any titbit. Whilst they're doing that all else are participating in national spaghetti western week.......

Hard to compare apples and oranges. The amount of engineering to span an Oz oval type stadium with that kind of suspended design as compared a much smaller soccer pitch is quite a bit different. You might possibly have a look at a hybrid design but then the cantilevering of the surrounding overhead might present its own basket of nasties. I keep coming back to the need of a roof. A nicety perhaps ....a necessity ??

Nothing wrong with punting on kids... but you need players out there that know what the actual f they're doing to show these kids the way. Our current forward line is all a bit ..... And it needs to change.. Needs guidance on field

I think this is a sound appraisal of where it's at. As such if a 'good' outcome for all presents it may well transpire he moves. The 'mature' approach would also realise no perfect deal exists. Is going to be interesting come Circus time. With the 3 'bundled out' teams ( who obviously harboured greater expectations) looking to get right in the mix of trade then I'm thinking once those trees get shaking a few unexpected opportunities will present. Not long now. Might get a better sense of how Melbourne will deal once Monday comes arround

John , is it fair to say there were Dominators ( plural ) that day. Yes he got all jiggy jiggy and found his mojo. No question. He wasn't alone nor could he have won the game alone. He became very much participant in the uplifting synergy ,once that invisible switch flicked in the 3rd. Im sure any of us could point to a dozen instances in that game where any of a half dozen players did 'something' that turned that game. Christian will always be remembered and revered as part of that. Rightly so. And we come to today, all but 4 years hence , and its a different picture. Now I will preface this as MY opinion. And I happily own it. CP5 is not that player any more. I fully understand how that has occurred. It takes guts to persevere through injury and get back out there and put the body back.on the line again. Im not sure if anyone is trying to dismiss or dilute that. Would be foolhardy and deceitful to do so really but even so there is to many an observer what appears a lowered ceiling to his game. Going forward, whether its our ( supporters ) expectations... or more poignantly the club's view as to the where and what of that which we might reasonably expect to be his 'game' in subsequent seasons it ( possible trade ) can only be garnered , indeed enacted , upon what IS now. Not what was. In the great scheme of things Tracc is just a player. We need dozens of them each year, to wear the colours and march on. These cgange from year to year but the one constant you will want is that they all march to the same song. I just get the distinct impression ( ref.. my opinion ) that he no longer hears that song . I am truly ambivalent about Tracc. If King and Co want him, well it's THEIR call. If Tracc wants away, thats HIS call. Do I think we'd get better team value trading or keeping ? I really don't know. I only know I'd rather someone with 80% of Traccs ability playing at 100% for us.. than Tracc playing 80% for us. Mathematically the same but the attitude and effect is vastly different. I always revert back to referencing a 'champion team' over champions. I'll not question nor dilute what he has done. 2026 and beyond is about what he can , indeed will, do. And especially for US. The facts...are simply that was then, this is now. His value is ALL tomorrow.

I dare say you're missing the nuance here. Mihocek IS a free agent. Yes. But you CAN actually make him part of a trade. It all goes to the ramifications of compensations which is I believe what DS was alluding to. The trade game has it little foibles. More than one way to skin the cat as they say.

Was he ?? Never saw that in him. He had waxing confidence.... that soon petered out. Strangely Roo does have it... but possibly its a stronger suit than 'nouse' My overview thoughts about us in the coming immediate seasons are about about transition and growth. In 3 or 4 years the team will be quite different. We need some players to hold down roles whilst others play into them. Thats how I view Brody. If he can facilitate the forwards getting their act together over 2/3 or so years then I think he's worth the shot. It's footy, nothing is certain. I have a suspicion King may have ticked the box here. Be interesting to see how this plays.

GC have proven willing to trade 'fair' in the past. Adelaide... not so much. Best for all to remember... circus week isn't about absolutes... it's about best fit for needs. Not everyone will agree but you can only make what you have the materials for. Often that Pie in the Sky won't be on the menu. Make the best of your hand ( try not to get fleeced )... move on. It's invariably about trading "might-be's" . No player comes with a guarantee. It's much more akin to a krap shoot than scrabble. What do we need ? Cap space ? $$$ off books etc. Particular role players ..etc etc. You go shopping at the bazaar. You haggle, you trade ( or not ) ... you come home and move on. Tracc is a hard one because he IS like that die.. 6 ppl are going to see 6 different values. Another complexity is going forward he's just as likely to be apples and oranges depending upon where he's at. Almost a sliding door scenario. Much is made of what he 'might' be again. That's a fair call but so is realising at Melbourne he might stagnate ( some say he has already ). If the club IS of a mind to be open to trade then you can only do so with what IS at the buffet table, not necessarily what you Prefer. I.e make the best fist of what's on offer... or walk away. Of course the overlaying context... what does Tracc want to do. Must admit I could see him enjoying brisvegas... more so than Adelaide... not thinking he's the pie-floater type. Going to be a fun circus ๐ช get your seat , ๐ฟ๐ฅค ๐คก๐ฅณ๐คก

		- Welcome to Demonland: Brody MihocekI reckon Bill will find a bit of interest. He's far more Meat and 3 veg than anything Cordon Bleu.. but he's quite serviceable. Never really been given a block of games to incubate at the higher level, other clubs with needs might consider him. But as to Brody.. if you think Bill is a suitable choice for the right team I dont quite see how Mihocek ( Pies leading goal kicker btw .... they got to the prelims.. well they did ) can't be serviceable to us. Add 30 goals to our year and it would look a bit more appealing ???
