and sparrow and chandler are still here too, obviously trengove and toumpas are a different era entirely for the dees - basically remove them from the 'sa players as busts' narrative imo the only player i imagine that we wanted to hang on to from sa who has gone home in the last decade was nibbler now wa players, on the other hand...

Wildcard Round
the other thing that seems to be being ignored here is that this gives the afl two 'sudden death' games that suddenly, presumably, have no aligned broadcaster neither 7 nor dazn pay for these games, as yet, as part of their broadcast rights package, so presumably they're open to any broadcaster who wants to bid for them the afl (and the nrl) have been desperate to get streamers engaged - i personally have my doubt that an international org such as amazon, netflix, etc. would have ANY interest in a small domestic sporting competition like the afl / nrl, but this could be an easy 'in' for one of them to have a taste and see what value they can ascribe to the competition

Wildcard Round
My cousin summed it up beautifully: Modern Melbourne energy would be to be 6th after 22 games, then lose at home (in the final round of the regular season), have results go against us and finish 11th on percentage. Proper MFCSS. My addition: But we traded away our first round pick

CITADEL IN THE CITY by Meggs
i am personally of the belief that the bears w are the best and most likely hope to knock off north this finals series - i just see them as that little bit bigger, slicker, and more battle-hardened than our list should be a cracker of a final either way

2026 Pre-Season Ladder Predictions
we've finished 14th two years in a row and have lost two generational players - minor premiers and three straight finals wins on to the next dees premiership; here we come! but seriously - dees for bottom 6 bears, flagmantle, gc17, dingley, puddy tatts to battle it out for top 4 while filth, crom, gw$ fight not to drop out of the 8 in favour of footscray, aints, bloods

Tassie Devils Possible Extinction
sunshine coast for team 20, if taswegia come in, for mine booming in population with a lot of expat vics there's little value in adding a 19th team; adding a 19th and a 20th, however...

Tassie Devils Possible Extinction
Taswegia hiring the gw$ social dude Will that style work with what their franchise needs? They need to hire the Flanagan bros; they can be the Statler and Waldorf of Macquarie Point “They ain’t half bad those mainlanders” Nope, they’re ALL bad!” If Martin had his way, it would be constant reposts of nature pics and proverbs, like his X account And then he’d hire Bob Murphy

State of Origin is Back
scott of the whinging, whining cat variety doesn't rate ruckmen, so gawn hopefully gets to sit this one out... as much as i have little doubt that he would LOVE to play in the game
