it's very early days to see what sort of player he will develop into, but i seem to recall jaspa fletcher was the player comparison he got at the time prior to drafting i find it hard to believe that a highly-ranked academy kid who is only two years in, and already a premiership player, will be shipped out, particularly given that the bears are likely to lose zac bailey to a mega-money deal from the likes of the crom it would be funny / not funny if he was traded for more than it cost the bears to pick him in the first place

it will be interesting to see if, and when, the first male player who is on a current list comes out plenty in the aflw of course

what happens if you're the premier, and you trade into the top 5, and it gets pushed back... do you get a freebie additional pick? this sounds completely unmanagable and inequitable in other words... it's going to happen, and the bears / gc17 / gw$ wil inevitably benefit

freo have a huge range of players in that 70-160 game range that you want as part of yr premiership tilt i think they should absolutely be looking to give it a big shake in 2026

it's funny, isn't it - we've gone from a super strong midfield full of big bodies to very little depth i was surprised that laurie was preferred as a half forward; i just can't see him getting a go at that role in the afl - he's a centre clearance type who needs to play a sam mitchell-type role if only he had sitchell's skills and smarts...
