  1. mm, that's some solid mfcss showing
  2. as we cry true tears of joy, fellow comrades
  3. and may as well, to be honest - he was always good for a long bomb to the left in gawn's general direction or an horrific short pass that missed its target by miles when in doubt...long and to the left!
  4. i love it when @binman and @george_on_the_outer fight - i like to think of @Demonland there watching, thinking 'do i need to put you both on mute?' while they hash out their disagreement loving the stats file already - if a future one doesn't get to 90 mins i'll be disappointed
  5. mcadam has already missed a year with an achilles for us, after missing a year with an acl he's now set to miss, in all likelihood, most of his third and final season of his deal with a calf injury he's been very, very unlucky
  6. pfft. he'd say we're already there
  7. it's very early days to see what sort of player he will develop into, but i seem to recall jaspa fletcher was the player comparison he got at the time prior to drafting i find it hard to believe that a highly-ranked academy kid who is only two years in, and already a premiership player, will be shipped out, particularly given that the bears are likely to lose zac bailey to a mega-money deal from the likes of the crom it would be funny / not funny if he was traded for more than it cost the bears to pick him in the first place
  8. it will be interesting to see if, and when, the first male player who is on a current list comes out plenty in the aflw of course
  9. still one of the greatest membership campaigns of all time...
  10. plugger mac! mfc legend big max! afl legend big milestones for both
  11. dusty vs max dusty is probably the greatest big game player ever max is the greatest ruckman ever i vote max cos i bleed red and blue
  12. plugger mac!! absolute legend of the mfc
  13. appears to be a smart footballer
  14. what happens if you're the premier, and you trade into the top 5, and it gets pushed back... do you get a freebie additional pick? this sounds completely unmanagable and inequitable in other words... it's going to happen, and the bears / gc17 / gw$ wil inevitably benefit
  15. freo have a huge range of players in that 70-160 game range that you want as part of yr premiership tilt i think they should absolutely be looking to give it a big shake in 2026
  16. I keep saying XL is the most exciting of our kids and nothing I’ve seen this year has changed my mind there, so yr not alone @binman
  17. the only confident tips i'd be prepared to make is flagmantle over the tigs and the pear over meth coke every other one is - due to both form and injuries to key players - a bit of a toss-up
  18. may cost the pick that became gc17's king, hibberd and melksham were both traded for great high second round picks mcadam was the only player with significant 'cost' of that latter group, and that was for a second round pick; the others were freebies, more or less we didn't have capacity to bring in highly ranked players as had the likes of gawn, viney, brayshaw, oliver, petracca, salem, etc. on high money deals at the time, in 2021-23, none of them was going out the significant player we lost was dogga at the end of 2022; we got peak value for him other than that, we had little to trade jj is the one that hurts, a bit, but that's because the afl and their stupid rules-on-the-run approach to allow delisted / relisted players to accomodate their stupid you-must-draft-3-players-every-year-but-you-can-prelist-a-delisted-player rule approach and, at the time, he had been very middling for us as a mid
  19. it's funny, isn't it - we've gone from a super strong midfield full of big bodies to very little depth i was surprised that laurie was preferred as a half forward; i just can't see him getting a go at that role in the afl - he's a centre clearance type who needs to play a sam mitchell-type role if only he had sitchell's skills and smarts...
  20. not even gaj was a superstar from day dot - it was his 6th year in 2007 when he absolutely exploded into the rare air that he then had for another 13 or so seasons after that oliver is probably our closest 'immediate star' player under the jason taylor era - in his second season he was a best and fairest winner in a side that missed finals by the smallest % ever the likes of naicos who are stars from debut on are so, so rare by year 4 i would expect first round picks to really be showing their wares
  21. they specifically changed the rules and adjudications post-maynard tho i suspect bailey humphries might get the northern franchises discount
  22. second week in a row we've had a pressure rate of 165 need to increase that significantly
  23. was the tiggas fella concussed? if not, i think it's more likely than not to be downgraded
  24. that's a serious 'string ping ya hate to see it happening to good players, but...
